    Carolyn thank you for taking us along on your journey. Blue Springs State park is one of the most beautiful springs in the State to my humble opinion. it remains at a constant 77 degrees all year round and that is why it's Manatee heaven in the colder months. enjoy your stay in Florida, many great places to visit, hope to see more of your adventures here, safe travels.

    Love to hear the cicadas. I miss their buzz. Reminds me of such wonderful times at Manatee Springs. I told you Carolyn you would love the real Florida. This is what I think of not the horrible traffic. Looking at Blue Springs you would love Manatee Springs in Chiefland. I went there since 1981. It is still great.

    I use to live in that area, was there for 7 years. I couldn't get out and move back to Nevada fast enough. I hated the mosquitos, the mold, the constant smell of rotting vegetation everywhere there. DeLeon Springs state park is just up the road about 30 minutes from Orange City. I highly recommend visiting that spring. There is a great little restaurant there.

    Hi Carolyn, You are only about 30 miles from New Smyrna Beach. You are so close I would highly recommend driving over to New Smyrna Beach and then drive south to the north end of Cape Canaveral National Park. You will find pristine natural beaches that are untouched by development and not very touristy. Absolutely beautiful and pristine beaches and definitely worth a day trip before you head towards Ocala!

      @@adrianawilliams5371 Sadly, laws in most areas do not allow for living in an RV. However, there are communities in Florida that do allow tiny homes, THOWs, and you may want to research that.

    Love Capone's cameo with a carrot. Rained here for our Monsoons and cooled it down a bit. Only 95 today, but dry. I am struggling with my second dehydration spell this year which I just have to get used to, saline at ER later and then feel better and come home. Eye surgery on Tuesday and yee haa I am good! Love to you and yours. I am reminded of a good laugh I had remembering my Dad got our pull-behind trailer stuck between two trees for many, many hours of fun and frustration. LOL, thanks for the memories.

    Glad you are getting some cooler days. The summer humidity here can be brutal. For us senior Florida residents we get a break on the camping fees at the state parks...half price! That is why we don't usually go too many places out-of-state. :-) Safe travels and enjoy your stay.

    Perhaps a shorter class C might be a better way to go if a class B is too small. A 24 to 26 foot class C still offers the comforts while being able to fit in smaller spots. You still have to be careful on trails and pot holes, something that Bob's van can do without any trouble. Another possibility would be to get a small tow behind SUV or a quad on a small trailer to go behind your current class C. Then you could really branch out and use Matilda as your home base. Just an idea to consider

    • @CallieCatCuddles
      @CallieCatCuddles 7 лет назад +4

      Carolyn's already mentioned that, especially for women, the ability to move from bed to driver's seat without going outside in order to make a fast getaway if a dangerous situation arose is why she preferred this style of vehicle. A better idea might be a Ford E350 with a door from cab to box (and an "attic" bed to free up floor space down below). It also has more clearance underneath so it can go more places than an RV can. If you rig it out yourself, you can control the quality of every material going into it too. Plus it's YOUR floor plan and the placement of everything is where you desire it - don't want a microwave, don't put one in; prefer shelves and bins over cupboards, do the shelves and bins; etc. You can also choose between a ramp or an electric lift.

    Wonderful video. I'm glad you and Capone are happy. As far as a new "home", I think I remember from one of your videos of Matilda that you said that if you were to do it over again and get something different, you would get a vehicle and tow your home. That way, you would have a vehicle to run around seeing things with, you said, and not have to always bring your "home" everywhere. Those Airstreams, etc. (not affiliated) are pretty nice; maybe they would be big enough? Something to think about...God bless!

    State Parks can be awesome. Some like here in PA can be quite big and crowded. Last week I opted to travel to a small one. Just about 15 sites. Quite, only had one neighbor for most of the week. There was a stream but on the second day we had a rainstorm and it was running too fast for me to chance. Loved it, even full up on the weekend it was quiet.
