This was a love it or hate it movie. You either bought the premise or dismissed it. Personally, gave it the thumbs up mainly on the strength of the diagetic sounds and I thought they did well in playing on people's need to try and create order when confronted with a lot of random items. Can't say I was scared and certainly didn't think it was real, but as a movie it accomplished what it set out to do.

The Sixth Sense is a great movie. Once as a kid, I had anger issues, resulting in my parents having me get therapy. First day there, I told my therapist “I see dead people”. She hadn’t seen the movie. I almost got sent to a mental hospital over a masterpiece of a horror movie. Anyway, on my way out, I told my mom that I didn’t want a therapist who hasn’t seen The Sixth Sense. I had to get a new therapist, who actually got the joke.
Same happened to me after watching United 93, I’d be lashing out at random times and blaming myself for the passengers deaths and Mummy was so disturbed by that so I’ve had great support from my family members lately in my time of grieving the heroes of United 93 like I’ve lost my mind. I wished I noticed what Woody told me 5 months ago and none of this stress would’ve happened if I had taken Woodys advice but I didn’t and that’s why Woody is the way he is now
That is a good movie but those great movies are not also included in the list Annabelle series particularly (Annabelle: Creation), the nun, lights out, Insidious Chapter 2, and Ouija: Origin of Evil.
7:22 - Holy CRAP, the spatial quality of that sound! Yeah. Yeah, that was enough for me to pause the video, secure the door in front of me, close the door to my room, and turn on every available light.
Yeah but thinking about the poor actress who had to play one scene about 100 times and getting really mentally ill is disturbing. Decades after that movie she looked like 60 and in a bad condition.
I remember I was 14 when I watched "The Grudge" alone, I couldn't sleep for more than a week. It was my first horror movie. Now I'm 17, "The Grudge" is my favourite horror movie, and by watching "Conjuring", with my brother, I understood that the demonic possession genre was the scariest for me.
I watched conjuring first time when i was 10. Now its my favourite movie series and ive watched the whole series (conjuring, insidous, the nun, annabelle)
@@satsuma4220 Those Annabelle movies are creepy as hell!! How many of them are there? I know of the one from 2014, Creation and Comes Home can’t remember if there were more
I’m only 21 and I hate watching war movies with anyone, watching come and see at night was a terrible idea and I kept waking up constantly fearing of nightmares so I refused to sleep until Thursday. I’m not revisiting this movie for sometime now
The shinning is actually one of the calmest films I've seen. The build up is nice. I especially enjoy the bar scenes. I usually fall asleep by the final moments.
@@codeblackfanandthegooddoct7070 so you've never actually watched Drag Me to Hell? It's an excellent horror film. Sam Raimi is one of the best & most influential horror film directors of all time. You're really doing a disservice to yourself if you chose to not watch it based on your preconceived notions about how good/bad it is. Not sure what about the movie looks idiotic to you but the gypsy curse plot is far from a new concept for the horror genre.
I tried to watch hereditary at night with a friend. We couldnt complete the challenge and we turned the lights on. I was at his house and after the movie i had to leave and he was home alone. I ran as fast as i could to the elevator and got home really quick. Good for me i was with my family, my friend was alone the whole night...
bubba485 Remember back in the 90.s everyone was scared of her crawling out of the tv? lol or the phone going off whispering "7.days" haha that was a fun time to be alive miss the old days..
I had a friend who was a die hard horror fan say the same thing. Out of all the existing horror films, that's the only one he'll never be able to watch again. I loved it but I've also got a little list of horror films I can't watch again lol
Hereditary is so good omg. There’s a few jump scares, but it’s not that scary... if you watch a lot of scary movies you’ll be fine. If you haven’t watched it I 100% RECOMMEND IT!!!
I can watch all these alone, no stuffed toy, nor cuddle buddies. just myself, my surround sound, and my projector. The movies can't scare me, I'm already dead inside so there is nothing to fear Also having chronic nightmares for years in my teens helped dwindle any fears i had
I actually watched The Witch alone 😂 it wasn't too bad actually. I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't like cheap jumpscares. And one of the best I've seen alone is 100% Hereditary. I've never been able to sleep alone since 🤣
For those who have less time 20. The Shining 19. Green Room 18. Raw 17. It follows 16. A nightmare on elm street 15. It 2017 14. The Babadook 13. The Strangers 12. V/H/S 2 11. Drag me to hell 10. Funny Games 09. Paranormal Activity 08. REC 07. The Conjuring 06. The Grudge 05. The Ring 04. The Witch 03. Hereditary 02. The Blair witch project 01. The exorcist
I honestly love the 2017 IT and this really doesn't deserve to be was low on the list as it actually is. puts the 1990 miniseries to shame. I seriously can't wait for chapter 2 in September! It's gonna be amazing I think.
i just watched IT both chapters and terrifier 2 alone last night. I was looking for more scary movies to watch. Im gonna go and watch terrifier 1 and the exorcist. Maybe veronica or it follows or the ring. Dont worry im not completly alone my mother is sleeping next to me.
For those who havent watched The Babadook, The Shining, Funny Games, The Conjuring, and the Exorcist, they can definitely be watched alone. They arent that scary. I even watched them alone last week in quarantine!
From what I read the Babadook was actually the mother's fear, resentment and depression just visualized and somehow becoming of a monster. She originally was a children's storybook artist but after the death of her husband, to which she somewhat blames her son, she stops. After this, she struggles to maintain a job to make ends meet. Furthermore, she often shows signs of neglect towards her son and we see in the basement that she still hasn't let go of the husband's death as she keeps his tuff hidden and doesn't like to talk about it. Finally when she acknowledges all of these emotions is she able to control the monster known as the Babadook though it still remains as it is a part of her.
Everyone needs to see Hereditary! Watching it was probably the most intense experience I’ve ever had from watching a movie. Like the level of anxiety and suspension... never been more stressed out and scared before lol. JUST WATCH IT!
@@VN930816 not really i watch horror movies since im a child(im addicted to them) and im 23 years old now. hereditary is a good movie but not scary. horror factor is low. its not a movie that makes you afraid of going to sleep like some others. you seem young watch some good horror movies and you will understand

Midsommer,

Grave Encounters,
The Descent,

Yep
Same. Same.
Same here

The Shining was so funny 😂 “HERES JOHNNY”
Yeah but thinking about the poor actress who had to play one scene about 100 times and getting really mentally ill is disturbing. Decades after that movie she looked like 60 and in a bad condition.
Title: 20 movies you shouldnt watch alone
Alone me: Thanks for the suggestions
I remember I was 14 when I watched "The Grudge" alone, I couldn't sleep for more than a week. It was my first horror movie.
Now I'm 17, "The Grudge" is my favourite horror movie, and by watching "Conjuring", with my brother, I understood that the demonic possession genre was the scariest for me.
Me too this movie scare me along time ago
I watched conjuring first time when i was 10. Now its my favourite movie series and ive watched the whole series (conjuring, insidous, the nun, annabelle)
Check out the Evil Dead remake.
I’m not revisiting this movie for sometime now
I thought The Blair Witch Project was The Biggest piece of Crap I have ever wasted money on
that says a lot about you, Michael ... A L O T
The witch looked epic though
MercenaryFox 😂😂
Me too
Joseph V. The witch was never shown
20/20 SOMEONE is gonna
sleep with a nite light 💡
The shinning is actually one of the calmest films I've seen. The build up is nice. I especially enjoy the bar scenes. I usually fall asleep by the final moments.
title: 20 things you shoudnt watch alone.
me: finally .... something to do in this lockdown
I think Korean, Japanese and some other Asian horror movies are more scarier than these list 🤷🏽♂️
Karl Aldre Marquez let me guess your Asian
You´re completely right. Asian horror cinema is scarier than the one from USA.
helloooo dont forget south asians, you need to watch some thai and indonesian horror movies ladies
Karl Aldre Marquez it’s not... it’s just gorier and lower budget (which usually makes the effects look more practical)
@@ryansimmons6186 martyrs
I fell asleep while watching the Blair Witch Project
What a boring movie.....documentary style and i hate it !!!
That movie is trash
Film theory channel's video of BWP is a way better movie idea than the actual plot
Yeah, hereditary is much scarier to watch alone. Most disturbing movie ever.
Definitely didn't deserve its spot
Freddy Krueger: * preys on me *

I saw freddy kruepger chasing me in my first lucid dream (but for some reason I didn't care (at this point of the dream I wasnt that lucid))

How to make a very scary movie
1. Get a old camera that has a bad graphics
That’s mostly the case for ghost videos more than horror movies
Drag Me To Hell is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Not sure why it's here.
It looks absolutely idiotic I'm not picky when it comes to horror but this is one of the very few movies I won't be watching
Especially the part with the goat haha
@@codeblackfanandthegooddoct7070 so you've never actually watched Drag Me to Hell? It's an excellent horror film. Sam Raimi is one of the best & most influential horror film directors of all time. You're really doing a disservice to yourself if you chose to not watch it based on your preconceived notions about how good/bad it is. Not sure what about the movie looks idiotic to you but the gypsy curse plot is far from a new concept for the horror genre.
@@mpross92 "you who-r-r-r-e!" ha one of the best scenes ever

What about The Evil Dead? I watched it alone on VHS in 1982 when i was 15, scared the crap out of me!
Really, IT? Jeez, that's like asking me to watch Trolls on my own
I know it's not scary
Hereditary is absolutely the only horror movie I’ve watched that lingers in my mind for truly scaring me
Agreed!
All things considered, it was worse than the Exorcist...😱
I tried to watch hereditary at night with a friend. We couldnt complete the challenge and we turned the lights on. I was at his house and after the movie i had to leave and he was home alone. I ran as fast as i could to the elevator and got home really quick. Good for me i was with my family, my friend was alone the whole night...

Same, think samara is on a holiday
Note to Self: Don't watch The Shining Alone
* Hears Call of Duty in the background * : Mission Failed
I've watched these movies alone I think "Insidious" should have been on the list that was the only movie that made me scary af
Lavar Gant I’m with you 10000% !!
I had a friend who was a die hard horror fan say the same thing. Out of all the existing horror films, that's the only one he'll never be able to watch again. I loved it but I've also got a little list of horror films I can't watch again lol
To me insidious doesn't scare me one bit, it bores me. But that's me. Not gonna say it is boring
Made you scary? you mean made you SCARED. The film itself was scary, not you.
@@thedarkvegan6872 ik
Hereditary is so good omg. There’s a few jump scares, but it’s not that scary... if you watch a lot of scary movies you’ll be fine. If you haven’t watched it I 100% RECOMMEND IT!!!
The Best.
I think the best way to put it is, it’s fked up.
Can’t believe you put a masterpiece at 20.
The Shining is too thoughtful, deliberately paced and artistically-made for the jump scare slasher movie crowd.
Insidious needa to be up there to, cuz hell nawww

Okay, there should be top 20 video games you shouldn't play alone next
That would be all of them as they brainwash kids.
“Hereditary” and “The Witch” are my favorite films from this list. Just awesome writing, acting, direction, etc.
They forgot shrek: you shouldn't leave this art to yourself
I went to see The Shining on a remastered version on theatres in Halloween Night with a friend. We both had the greatest time of our lives.
Good to know
I can watch all these alone, no stuffed toy, nor cuddle buddies.
just myself, my surround sound, and my projector.
The movies can't scare me, I'm already dead inside so there is nothing to fear
Also having chronic nightmares for years in my teens helped dwindle any fears i had
Ok calm down edgelord
U know whats more scary than any horror film ever made? REALITY.
I actually watched The Witch alone 😂 it wasn't too bad actually. I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't like cheap jumpscares.
And one of the best I've seen alone is 100% Hereditary. I've never been able to sleep alone since 🤣
Hereditary was *SO* boring. How was it scary? It's so overrated and bad.

Hereditary is the scariest movie I’ve ever scene. No jump scares, just pure disturbing. I kept checking the corner of my room for 2 days
If u have also watched terrifier 2 can u tell me if it is more disturbing than hereditary

Hereditary is overrated, that was not scary
Not! 🤣😅🤣 That movie was bad👎
Ju-On is the scariest movie Ive watched alone. I literally ran out of my house after watching and stayed with my cousins' house the whole night.
King Martin Chan Japanese horror films are the best! 😜
I honestly love the 2017 IT and this really doesn't deserve to be was low on the list as it actually is. puts the 1990 miniseries to shame. I seriously can't wait for chapter 2 in September! It's gonna be amazing I think.
I showed my boss the trailers for chapter 1 & 2. He freaked out just looking at Pennywise. It was hilarious 😂
IT 2017 was actually the first horror movie I seen in the cinema, before seeing it, I was an absolute wuss when it came to horror movies
@@dorcat2867 Me too mate. It was still amazing though! :D
Dor Cat saaame, and then started my adventure, have now watched pretty much every horror movie out there

i just watched IT both chapters and terrifier 2 alone last night. I was looking for more scary movies to watch. Im gonna go and watch terrifier 1 and the exorcist. Maybe veronica or it follows or the ring. Dont worry im not completly alone my mother is sleeping next to me.
Glad..to know the Number 1 Film is "The Exorcist".. no other Film was able to create the Impact Exorcist created..
For those who havent watched The Babadook, The Shining, Funny Games, The Conjuring, and the Exorcist, they can definitely be watched alone. They arent that scary. I even watched them alone last week in quarantine!
And It. I watched it alone when I was 12 and slept perfectly fine
The babadook isn't scary at all, and I'm planning to watch the shining, so thanks
Yup!! A slow and dull movie. In the wrong genre.
Everyone needs to see Hereditary! Watching it was probably the most intense experience I’ve ever had from watching a movie. Like the level of anxiety and suspension... never been more stressed out and scared before lol. JUST WATCH IT!
