Because Israel is on an all out war and to people who don't know history it will only look like ge no ci de. This is why even though British colonized many countries and made them fight, migrate, lived in their lands, made people slaves and looted their wealth, after that they won World war and became heroes. But all the countries they colonized suffered not just from hunger, poverty and some are still having regional issues for lands and religion cause they divided land and forced migration. *What a steam :). My point in making this comment is that if a student acquires a degree in a field of study and is unable to find employment in that field, the degree was worthless. Anytime the government gets involved, the price is elevated. There are many classes that are "required" for a degree that are worthless in that the information is not for educational advancement but propaganda, why are they required? $$$$ Kids graduate from high school unable to read, do basic math or find their state on a map however they have been taught there are more than two genders; it is a shameful state of our educational system. We spend more on education and are getting less for the dollar.

But Charlie is telling half the story. He skipped the 1940s when the conflict began where Israel tried to take the Palestinian land. He also glossed over the fact that Israel has been fighting them( and vice versa) for decades now

1. The conflict began with mass Arab attacks on Jews in 1920
2. Israel and Jordan were formed out of the British-governed Palestine area by the UN. Israel grabbed no land.
3. In 1948 when Israel was formed, all the Arab countries warned the Arabs to leave because the Arabs planned to declare a genocidal war on Israel - many Arabs left (the Nakba) but Israel won the war and won land like Sinai and Gaza. It gave all that legitimately won land back though, for peace.

I hold a college degree in theoretical physics, and I'll express this with confidence, although it might come across as arrogant-I acknowledge that upfront. In my observation, a significant number of individuals in universities, particularly those in non-scientific disciplines, lack intellectual acumen. Having the ability to memorize vast amounts of information doesn't equate to being intelligent. Many of these individuals struggle with constructing logical and coherent arguments or engaging in rational thinking.
I've come across statistics indicating that students supporting Hamas in American universities often come from non-scientific backgrounds, further highlighting a deficiency in rational thinking.
They certainly lack critical thing and have way too much hubris to admit when they are wrong, or that their beliefs are not facts.

It's painful to watch because these people are failing to mention the most important things: 1) the illegal settlements in the West Bank which have nothing to do with Gaza or Hamas which is absolute proof that the oppression is not "self-defence," rather a land-grab and genocide, and 2) the fact that Netanyahu has been a big part of why Hamas is in power in Gaza through funding them and propping them up to push back any chance of a 2 state solution (this has been reported by Israeli media Haaretz and there are documents and several sources providing evidence for this).
Many of them are arabs themselves. They are taught their perspective as jews are told their perspective. These are never challenged cause we, westerners, don't give a fuck about palestine. My father wants me to go to college but I know college didn't help him at all, actually the opposite, and it'll only get you to be in debt for the great majority of your life in most cases without anything good resulting from it. I've been suspicious since the start of this whole conflict, and don't have any skin in the game. That said, what got me was when I saw someone post a heavily edited video on Twitter yelping about how the IDF 'killed this innocent boy that was trying to run away from him'.
Of course, I ended up coming across the entire video with complete context, and it turns out that the 'innocent boy' pulled out a 10 inch blade and attempted to stab one of the IDF soldiers just standing on the street.
The edited video completely left this part out...

The line about one rabbi being able to go over day a year has no basis in fact. Perhaps he got it from the Bible where the high priest would go into the holy of holies one day a year. The gaza withdrawal was unilateral, not part of an agreement. The were other things wrong, but I'm not watching it again, and besides, I agree with his general sentiment.
