If you’re new here, yes I call my shop The Bunker…long story.
I've only been following your channel for a short while, so it has been nice to see your HQ... or your Bunker... or whatever you want to call it. Nice to know you do car stuff too. I think my favorite build to watch... one I generally search for every few months - the "dream shop" build. So here you have a shop... and I guess you are turning it into your "dream shop"? I know lots of people find channels to watch by searching for the "dream shop" build... so maybe consider putting that term in your title on future installments? Like "Transforming my shop into my dream shop" or something. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing the projects you do with us. This was fun to watch.
Dream bunker?🤔
I stuck around love that type of content 🤣
Thanks for sticking around!
Made it all the way through 😂
You need a new hobby😂
@MyDIYAdventures Saturday mornings my time to catch up on youtube videos
i stayed to the end , i've been working on getting my garage insulated , about 3/4 's done
Has it taken you 20 years?😂
no , only been 2 1/2 years , but at the rate i am going it will take another 2 1/2 lol
@MichaelHelinsky-ws1nt you’ll still be way ahead of me!
Good morning Man that’s not a fun job to do but it’s a rewarding one though. I did my garage work shop years ago and it really makes a big difference. Plus 10 degrees is what I found the difference was between installing insulation and not having it in. Also installed a radiant heat tube at the front of the garage right over the work shop bench. Runs on Natural gas here in Alberta. In winter it can go down to-30 degrees Celsius -22 Fahrenheit. I was able to work in there in a t- shirt if I wanted to. Nice job on that ceiling Brother Looking forward to seeing the next video on the walls. Keep them coming Sir. I always watch it to the end. By the way. There are lights at Home Depot the you can adjust the light colour. Manufacture is Halo. Have a great day and thx for the video. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have the north wall completely insulated and sheathed in OSB now. It’s been a mild winter, but I noticed my garage heater doesn’t have to work so hard to keep it above freezing now.👍
Right on. That’s a great result for a start. I’m sure you will enjoy it.
🎉🎉🎉
I stuck around for the whole video. Loved the tutorial on installing the scaffolding casters lol. Not sure how it would work, but you might be able to increase the lighting from the new lights by installing reflective bubble insulation on the ceiling behind them. Just a thought.
Someday I hope to sheet the ceiling with a white painted luan or something.
@@MyDIYAdventures That trusscore wall and ceiling board would look good up there but that stuff is like $38 for a 16”x96” sheet.
Dang! I ain’t rich!
@@MyDIYAdventures A body would have to take out a second mortgage for that stuff. If you had a sawmill near by you could buy some rough cut pine, air dry it for a few months and then make your own shiplap.
4 likes with the first minute 👏👏👏
My mom has 4 YT accounts😂
Did you pull a permit? Do you have a hazmat license? You could never do that in California.
Add that to the list of reasons I’ll never go to California!😂
Maybe could put some type of refractor to reflect light more towards the floor just saying.
...
I’m hoping to install a white ceiling someday!
How big is your shop? Great job.
22’x34’ with 10’6” walls
Toasty 😂
Getting there
have you ever done sheet metal garages? I'm considering building one on my property at some point.
Do you mean barn metal? I’ve done quite a few of those also.
@@MyDIYAdventures Yes, I've heard it is more cost effective.
It can be
Whats the ceiling height in there?
10-6
You're not going to like this comment. Sorry. Ya need to put up vapor barrier up or condensation will build up on top of the insulation.
Nope, that’s not code here.
if there are vents in the garage ceiling into the attic it shouldn't accumulate , it should vent out through the attic and out the ridge or gable vents
plus the kraft face paper on the insulation has a sprayed on layer of asphalt on the side facing the fiberglass to act as a vapor barrier
I'd just say that the paper facing shouldn't be left exposed on the insulation. Usually the insulation has that written right on it.
