The most difficult bit was reconnecting the cable (Eugene doesn't show you this), it's a very slim fit and I thought I had mangled it, the adhesive stopped it from sliding into place, I had to use a slim plastic knife to push it in flat. But I was pleased that I got it to work, I would never have attempted it without watching this first.
Thank you I have successfully removed my broken screen. My model the Compaq Mini CQ10-500SA bought in the UK is identical. The video is so much more helpful than words as the key thing is having the confidence to take of the bezel, not worrying about the loud clicks or there being any screws in the way
Thank you for the video, I followed your directions and had 100% success. You are right, the most difficult part of the whole process is ordering the screen. I bought my screen off of ebay for 40 buck with shipping. i am so happy right now.
Thanks, very helpful. We have the 210 version, but I am sure the basic process of removal and restoring is the same. I have a computer and electronics background, so I think I can manage to perform this process. Thanks for your excellent clip on this job. Have a great day.
Very helpful....same process for my hp mini 110-4250NR; even got to use a thin plastic knife and a small bread knife for d screws...didn't have my tools with me and needed to check out why my screen was flickering....alas it only took me opening n closing it to get my screen working perfectly again.
@hunteyvonne Sadly no, In fact the entire computer is now being replaced since I went to the HP site and looked for the parts. they DO actually have them up for order, but since my wires were split and everything it couldn't be fixed. hope you have better luck however.
HEllo, i have a doubt i broke the bisel of my laptop( im an amateur in this) whats the name of the black part that you take out first of the screen that snaps, another thing you can buy just the frontal part or come all together with the screen i only need the frontal part. is possible to find it?
I have this model laptop, My 5 year old nephew cracked the entire top screen and it now hangs by a wire. I need to replace the entire screen half, do you have any suggestions how I could do this?
my screen (on an HP Mini 1101) seems to have a short or something- it's not coming on unless I squeeze it against the lid- I'm wondering if it's a loose ribbon cable or something. Any suggestions?
Can u give a link to where u bought the replacement?BTW for u ppl that don't no the exact product number and all that here it is: 537656-001 10.1-inch standard-definition AntiGlare SL LED display panel

Thank you very much for posting this video. You have been very helpful
@Lernatix just follow the procedure in reverse. Should be simpler than removing the screen.
@NatalieDolanNZ yes, the screen needs to be replaced, and the procedure will work

@dreamwolf19
Any luck with this? I have the same problem--I need to change the entire top half.
How much was the screen replacement
Okay, thanks. I've already got the screen bezel taken out, I just need to buy a new screen and install it.
my model is 110-3018CL, does this still works??
Thanks!
can we replace with LED screen?
Thanks! Very informative.
Works on 1103?
You should never ever ever pull the cable out by the wires.
Only ever push the cable connector out by the edges of the metal connector
That's a completely different procedure. I would find an HP service manual for this.
@TheLazloindahouse we can provide this screen. Please send me email.
