He has literally won multiple titles via this this shtick of his. It's how he catches heat and brings publicity to the company he's making an appearance in. He comes assaults the current champion of the promotion and challenges him to a match, then he wins, most of the time by underhanded methods. He then loses the title after a set number of matches. He has a chance to win the RoH title, but he won't hold onto to it for long.
I remember in the early days of Tony Khan's version of ROH, they actually used to tape the events at an exclusive location for a while, Universal Studios if I'm not mistaken
