Another option for those who don't have access to hot-cold running water by punching through a wall may be using the propane-powered instant hot water units sold to campers. Spark is provided by batteries and all you need is a garden hose to supply water. With the right lookups you'd just tape into the tank running your BBQ.
Because of your skill in diy you are my star.
Aw, thanks! And thanks for watching.
When I was a kid we had an outdoor shower on the farm, thou not as private or as nice as yours. Back then I think my folks called it a garden hose and stock tank. lol.
April, Very nice outdoor shower. I really like that.
Thank you!
Humm idea.....I to live in the country....Farming country so my neighbors live close. I love the design.
The color combination is STUNNING April!!!
I have similar at my barn. But I used a on-demand water heater that ignites on D-cell batteries and runs on 20lb propane bottle. All you need is a hose bib and hose to connect. The heater unit and propane bottle is mounted on a HF set of trucks which I pull out from under roof and connect in minutes. Works perfect and removes the plumbing issues. If I ever want to move the shower, I don't have plumbing issues to deal with. It surprised me how little the water heater cost that supplies plenty of hot water....even in those fall days when I am dirty and don't want to go home that way.
Tony ... I have one of those propane heaters and with all the misc fittings I think I'm into it for a bit over $200. I used a spring loaded "flush valve" for the water feed and the handle goes to a rope tied to a small piece of plywood. The idea is you step on the wooden pedal to start / stop the water. The rope has a spring connected so you don't over-crank the valve handle. I figured (roughly) I can get about 600 showers at 3 minutes each on a BBQ tank.
Your video I spired me, I built an outdoor shower for a rental! Thanks!
Awesome! I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for sharing and for watching.
What a great way to use your remaining Trex deck boards! They are perfect for this application and continue your outdoor design theme. Smart!
About 45 years ago I camped at a state park, where the showers had no roofs. It was the oddest feeling, looking up and seeing the trees, while soaping up.
When you watch the video from five years ago only to see this video...so fulfilling! The updated design is a lot more refined as well.
It certainly is but my Mom still loves hers and wouldn't change a thing! Thanks for watching.
Great work April! That will be a joy to use and keep the house much cleaner!
April, All the years I have followed you this is the first time I have seen make the drastic mistake, IT IS NOT IN MY YARD, GOOD WORK
: ) Haha, I'm glad you like it
So simple and beautiful
Thanks! I love how it turned out. Thanks for watching.
Amazing
built mine 3 months ago. Love it use it everyday. I went the spigot method for both hot and cold so I can also use the spigots for other things.
Yep, I LOVE THIS!! This was so super simple to watch and realize! I love the scheme as well! Really sharp April!!
Looks great. Can't wait for part 2. Take care and have a blessed week and I'll see you on your next vidja.
Looks great April, looking forward to seeing it finished. Thanks for sharing with us, Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
Gorgeous design and build, April! It looks amazing!
Probably something usual for Texas...not so much in Canada...Looks awesome, waiting for Part 2.
This is amazing and encouraging. This would be perfect for a tiny house outdoor shower to save moisture from building inside the tiny house.
Thank you for sharing.
Your straight forward explanation of how to build an outdoor shower made it a definitely doable project. An absolutely well organized step by step easy to follow plan from start to finish.
My goal is to start building this outdoor shower with help from friends next week. TY
I was racking my brain for ideas to build an outdoor shower with a propane heater. This is amazing!
April... this is such a cool idea! I enjoyed watching this build and learned something... that jig for equal spacing is LEGIT!!!
Nailed it April! This turned out awesome, checking out Part 2 now!
Love it!
I use my Outdoor Shower Daily!
We built it for rinsing off after you went in the Pool!
Now I like it as I don’t have to wipe down anything to prevent water-spots/scale andI know, I’m weird!
APRIL! Girl, this is amazing. I’ve been in love with outdoor showers ever since I took one at a little hot springs resort in New Mexico years ago. Time to bring that vibe to my home in the PNW and enjoy an outdoor shower for a couple months out of the year. Really appreciate this build.
: ) Glad you like it so much. Enjoy building one!
Hi what was the name of the hot springs resort you visited?
April, you ROCK thank you for simple easy to follow directions to help spur my own original ideas and designs. You’re a welcome inspiration for us men who think it’s only a man’s world when it’s actually a shared world of creative human beings like yourself that inspires. Keep Inspiring!
Phenomenal! We’ve always day dreamt of an outdoor shower… and we’ve finally found ourselves on a large piece of land, and reno’ing a travel trailer as we begin designing our forever home. The travel trailers bathroom is less than desirable, and we thought… why not rip out the shower, and finally make our outdoor one? This turned out absolutely beautiful and so inspiring. Ty for your time!
Awesome! Sounds fabulous. Glad you found the video useful. Thank you for sharing and for watching.
I love this project! Looks beautiful.
Just the inspiration I needed: Have had a recurring request for an outdoor shower. I just bought your plans too will save some ciphering on my part. Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for the inspiration. I'll be putting mine where the water will drain directly onto a maple tree's roots. Just can't get enough water to our trees here in New Mexico, so this will be helpful for it and for me. Sometimes it's nice to just wet yourself down fully clothed to keep working in the heat...everything dries in minutes.
Smart!
Another great project! I really like the way your mind thinks in projects like this.
Keep the great videos coming
Thanks for sharing and God bless
This looks incredible. I live in Northern Ontario Canada at a lake so summer outdoor showers will be a must. Going to build it this summer. Thanks for sharing
Awesome job as usual, your videos show how simple DIY can be. Keep them coming.
Enjoyed video. You have a real talent. So in future builds Please USE PPE. No Clear safety glasses and NO Respirator For the Vanish 4 Coats. IF you breath in enough vanish it could have coated your lungs. I contractor years ago sprayed a new BACKYARD DECK with Water Sealer. NO Respirator. He died three days later. Hope you take this in a positive and helpful suggestion to heart.
Awesome build
some very good ideas there on the shower
Glad you like them!
Okay, since no one mentioned it, I will! NICE PINK FLOYD SHIRT!!
Love the amber tint.
Great project so far, I built one in my back yard a few months ago and it seems I did it the hard way as usual, Thanks April.
: ) Meh, live and learn. I've done many things the hard way but it taught me an easier way.
I absolutely love the board on board look I’ve never seen it anywhere else like that and I love it
Thanks! Yes, I love the look. Thanks for watching.
super cool April, love your videos
Beautiful!!! I love the colors chosen.
That is something we could possibly use on our homestead in northeast Texas. thanks for sharing
: ) You're welcome.
Really like this shower April. Great job!
Love the color combo. 😀
Thank you! 🤗
@@AprilWilkerson What paint product and color did you use here? I looked through the video many times and also through the comments. Such a great project!!
Great design looking very nice. Thanks 😊🙏
Looks beautiful- but keep in mind PEX is not rated for direct sunlight and will fail...maybe sleeve it with PVC or electrical conduit to keep it covered.
Beautiful outdoor shower! Also, Kate and I have toyed with the idea of a garden. We will look at your raised garden video to see it it's something that we'd like to do. Keep rockin' it, April! And happy new year!!
Hey April, you have inspired me. I started painting, got my first skill saw, drill and nail gun. I'm adding baseboard around my home and painting. I know I will make a lot of mistakes along the way, but I'm having fun and my home is looking pretty good. Thanks for always posting awesome content.
That is so great to hear! Have a blast
Love the outdoor shower.. the board under board was the way my dad designed the fence in our yard when we were just kids.....Sweet memories
Yes good
Super, zbuduję taki na działce 😀👍
Yes, it's a great addition and after working on the property on a hot day, feels great. Thanks for watching.
Well planed and executed and it looks Awesome April...👍
Fantastic Project! Maybe a Mini Fridge for a Cold Beer???
I absolutely love that sprayer. I bought it to paint my in-law's house a few years ago and have found so many other projects to use it on
Yes, I use it and love it every time! Thanks for watching.
April mentioned galvanized brad nails, as a note for those who live in a more corrosive environment, many real building supply houses sell stainless brad nails as well.
Good tip!
Wow, this is such a great build! Nice work with your Wagner sprayer to apply the finish!
Believe me. I still don't understand why people dislike these kind of videos.
Your project is really good, I want this project,
Great video , like your carpentry skills . I'm a carpenter for 30 years myself.
That's awesome. Thanks for watching.
Living off-grid the outdoor shower/restroom was one of the 1st things I built. It's funny that I went with the same color scheme as you did and that was 5 years ago. The Cedar and pressure treated woods are aging nicely too. I left one side partially open (I have no neighbors) to have a perfect view of the surroundings and the animals. It's like watching "Wild Kingdom" while using the structure. I just love it. Another great build April 😘!!!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing and for watching.
Awesome work April! 😃👍🏻🚿👊🏻
Absolutely lovely. Excellent craftsmanship
Thank you very much!
great job April looking good
Going to have to build one for next summer at our pool, so this is very timely. And, as always, you go above and beyond. Great job, and the pinnacle of professional treatment of materials, tools, and safety!
Thank you!
Impressive! Great job!
Glad you liked it!
Very nice April. Well done.
It’s beautiful April!!! Looking forward to Part 2!!!
Great! Stay tuned! Thanks for watching.
une superbe realisation,le rendu est vraiment beau.
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Thanks for watching.
You are amazing! I was looking for some outdoor lighting ideas and I ran into some of your channel. I am learning so much from your videos! I've alway been a handyman/ Mr. fixit and I really enjoy working with my hands and building things. You have raised my game! Thank you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Looks great, April! Thank you!
You are so welcome!

Great and useful build April!
I'm convinced April is slowly turning her property into a campground.
WilkerLand?
: ) Wilkerson Ranch.
@@AprilWilkerson That's a lot better than I had. :)
Another winner!

The outdoor shower looks great and the colors match really well.
Thank you! I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Thanks for watching.
You are awesome April!
I like the color combo.
woodworking plan cabinet for woodworkers project
I love this design! I think I might put it on wheels so I can move it around and irrigate our yard. We're waaaay down in 78572.
april YOU ROCK nice job
Very inspiring. Thank you.
Awesome Shower Build April! This is new to me, since we don't have outdoor showers in Michigan. However, since you can drain the waterlines I believe this could also be built in a cold freezing climate too.
I'm in Michigan and I do....
@@Stillnapie Well That's Cool!
Very nice work. Great design.
Great work! Wouldn't it had been easier to pre-coat the panels you used for privacy, coat them somewhere else?
Yep, definitely would have! Live and learn. : )
@@AprilWilkerson But that's why videos are so helpful. For this project, a sliding panel door or saloon doors would have been a great add on.
I think it is brilliant, going to do my own this week/fortnight from your plans% thank you for the great work
Awesome! Enjoy the build. Thanks for watching.
I love the project so far..especially the colors
Thanks!
other then treating the timber before construction , this is full of great practical advice / ideas
Great project, looking forward to part 2. Thumbs up and thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
Freakin awesome, April Wilkerson!
Watch out for the drones :)
That outside bench is a nice touch. Here in AZ where it gets to 115, we need one of those just to cool off!
Love the layout and idea.
April, I love your work...
