- This CT 110 engine had very low compression, in the video you'll see how to diagnose & easily repair the fault.
Not shown are the steel washers fitted below the valve springs to prevent the soft alloy cylinder head being eaten away & the stem seal fitted to the exhaust valve guide.
I had to regrind an old Ford Falcon head way back in 1972, it's a lot of fun.
Yes it is, I couldn't believe how tiny the valves are in the CT.
I guess we must be about the same age. i learnt the sharp wrap on a socket trick hundreds of years ago. Shame it doesn't work for putting them back. and you have the same grinding technique as i use. My father and older brother taught me that in the 60's. A lot of utube videos show people using an electric drill on the stem of the valve, this i was told would leave rings in the faces. +
Yes, most of us old timers would know the socket trick. I started doing the videos to help people who don't have much experience & hopefully I show that anyone can work on their bike with a minimum of equipment. I agree using a drill to valve lap is a bad idea. Thanks for watching & taking the time to leave a comment.
Great video ride safe
Thanks Darren
