Just a real guy solving real world problems. I like it. Keep them coming.
When someone asks a question, you tell them to watch your playlist. A guy like you never gets any rest at a party. After explaining something a hundred times ,you did this for yourself to alleviate the time wasted. We are the beneficiaries as well. Thank you! And some people never get it,cause they were not paying attention, but trying to con you into doing it for them. Merry Christmas Brother !
U have no clue
Thank you for reminding me how this crap works. As a DIY'er I don't deal with this stuff every day and a good explanation helps to remind me.
Just finished replacing the head on my lawn mower and I had the nuts on the rockers a bit too tight. No compression.
My oil gally was fully my cylinder with oil and was blowing white smoke ! Ty you just confirmed this ! You’re the best !!
Excellent explanation of low to no compression. Whenever I have low compression I eat beans, cabbage and drink a few beers. Later I develop mucho compression. Thanks for the video.
Thank You Sir for taking the time to Share your vast Knowledge and Experiences with Us Home DIY's..

Amen 🙏
I've got a 23yr old atv. This will probably fix almost all the issues I'm having lol
Hi. Awsome video. I got a fiat 1.4 petrol engine. Dry compression is reading 75psi on one cylinder and 100psi on the other 3 cylinders. Engine don't fire up. Could it just be that timing is slightly out? It poofs out a gush of pressing out of the air intake. Was a 2nd engine. Timing belt was replaced.
Thank you sir.
i get this a lot at my shop, runs mostly at wide open, won't idle well at all, difficult to start only to find out exhaust valve has 0 clearance, these old school briggs and tecumseh engines seem to have exhaust valves/seats that wear quickly and end up with low compression, have to pull head to remove head, disassemble valve and grind a bit off the stem to bring back the clearance.
Thx for this! A diagnostic question on the simplest Briggs & Stratton push lawnmower: After dealing with all the basics of a "free side of the road" lawnmower, including straightening a slightly bent shaft, I realize satisfaction on a good start only to hear "CLACK CLACK CLACK" -- a clear metal on metal sound. Is this obviously a valve allowed to hit a metal wall?
Hello! Had engine failure on freeway… misfire in cylinder 4!and no compression, the other 5 cylinders low compression. Found out warped cylinder heads smh 🤦♀️…There was nothing indicating any issues…No knocking, no over heating, no rough idling. Replacing the engine is just too expensive for 3.7 mdx… but I’d like to explore replacing the heads. Timing belt is In tacked. So frustrated… possible oil consumption
I would love to hear what you think of Stihl I finally gave up on Stihl
Super detail. Super simple.
thank you for sharing your knowledge. youre the GOAT
Here is a stumper with compression. Club Car Kawasaki FE290 leak down test only loses 2 psi @90 psi at, but bombs compression test at 30psi. The only thing I can figure is compression release (ACR) is the issue. Thoughts?
Another great video, thanks Jeremy. Looking forward to 12/19!
Heck yea it’s gona be fun
Hello, mine is different. Robin ex17. Suddenly seems drowning then stopped. Hard start after that and drowning still until only detonates when cranking. Sudden high compression that its hard to pull.
What's up brother.. great video as always
Doing
Great. Getting ready for a shop tour soon
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 cool mate
Thank you sir.
I have a question.
What made you decide to become a small engine technician?
Thank you so much for this pretty valuable informative video my man!
So a smaller handheld husqavarna leaf blower with 105 psi compression. Is that cause for concern? Just had a service refused for a bad coil because compression was at 105 which they said was to low to be worth fixing.
Very good video, easy to understand
Thank you
Thanks l have a Suzuki 750 compresser l start it but no compression it is a two-stroke enjen so some one told me to fix the valves by tyten the srews
Best to drill out carb when it’s new before damaging engine
Just what works for me
i have a mower i just parted it out and its going to junk it has no compression..i took the vales out twice cleaned them all off of carbon even grinded the one down to make it shorter to make sure it closed even put a new head gasket on it and still zero compression on the compression test..air is escaping soemwhere...as i was doing this i took the muffler off and that hole the muffler to was all dinged up beyond being repaired to get the scratches out but i dont think that would affect the compression but maybe im wrong..ve had mowers running before wihtout the muffler even on if i remember correctly but thats all i can think of..i made is clean as heck no carbon on it and still has zero compression so i just gav eup on it and going to throw it out..beyond repairs i guess.
Great video.
I have a Stihl FS 38 that runs erratically. Can’t keep the card adjusted.
The muffler was completely clogged. Could the seals have been blown out
allowing an air on intake?
Very possible.
I have one cylinder no sucking air in.whats the problem with the cylinder? 4 cylinder motorcycle. Cylinder#3
Have a Cushman golf cart, made a big bang sound while driving it and then it wouldnt go. Just make an idle sound and could smell gas? I have spark on the plug.
Are you asking a question or is this just a statement?
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 It was a question. My apologies for not using correct punctuation.
I took the valve cover off, and saw the valve retainer in pieces. I'm guessing I have to do a full tear down. No pieces in the oil pan. Thank you for your videos. They definitely help.
The VALVE GUIDE moved...not the valve seal but the VALVE GUIDE moved causing the valve not to close and get compression.
What if i have a sudden complete loss of compression over the span of 5 minutes my TRX500FM lost all compression with gasoline in the oil as well. i have had no prior engine work done besides oil changes
Awesome video brother
got an fx651v kawasaki with no compressionon either cylinder but it does run, just doesn't have power, the air intake tube between the carb and the filter housing was very bad and cracked all around the clamps, I'm thinking the ring sucked dirt in and dusted the engine, how would you check for that without pulling the heads?
@mowermedic1 I have a fx801v (cold test) one cylinder has 125 psi and other has 85. Also have some blow by in crank case. Engine doesn’t smoke but uses some oil (I imagine from pressure pushing out seals?). Is this possible valve issue? With blow by I’m leaning toward gasket or rings? Appreciate your videos and knowledge.
Thank you for your video!
Thanks bro. Super helpful. Subbed.
Nice video,Jermy.I have question on a subaru generator EX21 carb.flooding issue.Had to replace the carb. Aftermarket twice pressure test with a mityvac at 7#offthe generator it held.Put it on the generator, turn the gas valve on at tank started leaking gas through the emulation tube. This was 2 aftermarket carb.the original carb.had to be replaced.
Make sure the atmospheric pressure vent holes aren’t being covered up by the gasket make sure you replaced the fuel line as chunks of old fuel line can make its way into the new carburetor and stick the needle and seat open make sure that you’re not getting any debris from the tank into the new carburetor
Can I do a compression test with the valve cover off
Good to see you. Great video👍
Thank you very much my friend
How doni know whith valve i nees number 1 or 2 in fxtoov kawassaki i need the left side standing in the back
As always good info here.
Merci!
Thank you very much for the super chat. I appreciate that.
Hey mate, just a question.
My bike, cbr 600 rr 2004, is lately stalling in neutral at stops even clutched in and also while riding will lose power for a second or two or will jerk forward sometimes as I deccelerate.
Do you have any idea what the issue might be?
Thanks
I say clutch. It's been 6 months so tell us what it was.
I used to have a cbr600f1 if that tells you how old I am....lol
Nice video bro
I have fiat Punto 1.4 tjet
We did complete engine and still i got no compression on cylinder 1 and 2 but just under 60 on 3 and 4
We do these cars all the time but this one for some reason has no compression
We tried , i think now its the 7th time taking out the head
Please helllllppppp
Bad gas and not charging oil causing 90% of valve problems is what I think
Fresh gas and regular oil and filter change does pay off and saves your engine
I wish you lived close to me. So I have a 2019 toro zero turn timecutter ( 70 hrs now) with the newer toro V-twin commercial (haha) 22.5 hp. Its done this since day one. When I try to start it when cold I put the choke on then turn the key to start it. If it does not start right away what it will do after say 10 seconds of cranking is backfire loud. I stop trying to start it and get my heart to beat normal again then by that time I go to start it and it starts fine but puts out a large amount of light blue smoke for a bit. Once warm it runs fine. Its under warranty but I am a little scared to take it to the shop I bought it at because well just because you never know. I am going to bend a valve if I dont so something haha. Any ideas?
Choke not closing all the way? Check that for sure. How old is the gas?
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 Chock is good but I do believe its carb related. I mow everyday its my life so gas is good also.
Have you tried starting it without choke?
Than loud backfire sounds to me like when the mower is running and you let go the lever open that shuts the engine immediately and a loud backfire right after ir
Where is the one with the drill
Thanks for the extra knowledge
can a low compression be fixed on a mx5 madza or is engine ruiened
Anything can be fixed
Love it
Cheers
