That was an awesome video my friend! The SIA 2000 deal, wao! You are good finding those amazing deals! thanks a lot for sharing how to connect it to PICO! I will try that ASAP.
Very nicely done Ramon! Amazing, that a shop left this vehicle in this condition. I mean the problem wasn't there before they worked on it and didn't fix it. The SIA 2000 is a nice tool to be able to parade the ignition patterns to see all at once. Pico has a similar tool that I have called the MixMaster which can show up to 12 ignition patterns. I assume that you had already checked the primary drive signals on the #2 coil before you replaced it. Once again, nice work!
stuzman Yes I did. I would not replace coil before I make sure that circuit is working. I just wanted to demonstrate my new tool. SIA 2000 is very nice but I made mistake. I didn't set this tool correctly and my power KV was very different between the cylinders. I have found a problem and made another video. I will have to practice more to get better with this tool. Cheers my friend
PAULY'S AUTO thank you my friend I am glad you liked this case study. This car was so neglected and had a lot of problems but it’s running good now.👍👍😁
@@kyhomegarage3430 it makes finding the problems difficult when you have so many layers to peel away...it's real and shows how we often get them! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us!
My 2006 bmw x5: Misfire all cylinders, rough idle. Fixed all intake hoses, replaces all coils and spark plugs, new maf, new secondary maf, cleaned out idle control valve, new gasket ring on disa valve. Still getting check engine light and misfire all cylinders. p171 and p174 even though the car idles a lot smoother. Engine light and codes only come up when idle, it drives fine. I notice in reverse its is rougher. No idea what to do next. Im at my wits end. Plz help. What do ya think it is?
My BMW X5 is dealing with the same issue. I cannot Renew my registration because it won’t pass inspection. Replaced a leaked intake hose, replaced the mass airflow sensor, then I got a 1419 code and replaced the secondary mas airflow sensor. Car still gets checks engine light and still misfiring on all cylinders. Can’t afford to take it to garage. What a shitty car.... I’m at my wits end, any ideas? Ccv is not leaking oil or indicating any failure. The intake flap thingy seems to work no flapping sounds from it etc.
Ramon, thanks for your new video. CONGRATS for your new toy, the SIA 2000. Some observations/ thoughts on it from my side: The attenuation factor of the snap on secondary ignition probes ( the regular one and the SIA 2000 as well) is 1:5000, with this value you can calibrate/customize its use with the pico in order to get true kv readings. The second (green) channel originally is used to display the waste spark events only, the first channel (yellow lead) will show the true (combustion) firing events( you probably know that). With your hook up on the BMW's coil over plug system I would have expected to see all 6 cylinder true firing events on one channel, not divided in 2 groups of 3 cylinders on the 2 channels, taking as reference the the synced #1 cylinder. As you connected 4 cylinders( which are negatively fired) to the positive inputs of the SIA 2000 I also would expect the pico to display these cylinders upside down without further adjustments. Did you configure the pico accordingly? I really do envy you for the ease with which you can obtain all these fine tools at reasonable prices......In southern Mexico the situation is a different one :-{ Once again,THANK YOU!
juergen scholl This was great deal on eBay. I am very exited to use this tool. It will take a lot of practice to fully understand this set up. I just made another video and I realized mistake I've made and why power KV was so different between cylinders. Thank you my friend for all help and great comments you always make to help all of us learn something more every day. Cheers my friend
Hi Sir, I am keep getting cylinder one error even changed the brand new coils and spark plugs. Changed the gaskets almost everything. Keep getting Misfire cylinder 1 fuel cut error. Please help me. Thanks
@@kyhomegarage3430 I did compression testing and it was around 130, changed the brand new fuel injectors, spark plugs and coils. I did check the spark with the tester and it was fine. I really have no idea what other things I can do. I even changed the CamShaft sensors, and intake mani fold gaskets with pcv. I am given up to this vehicle. X5 2002 4.6is.
SHAHRUKH MUHAMMAD 130 PSI looks ok. Did you check compression with other cylinders. Is misfire more pronounced at idle or higher RPM. Spray some brake cleaner around fuel injector for air leak. Did you try to clean fuel rail?
@@kyhomegarage3430 Yes I have checked all the compression and they were around 140 to 150. I really forget to clean the fuel rail, just replaced the fuel injectors. I have ordered the fuel filter a and have fuel but the not installed yet.
Nice diagnosis & repair Ramon! Yep you have to fix the vacuum leak & lean misfire first. Nice job Ramon and great deal on the SIA 2000 $1695 for free...can't beat that!
Hayward's Automotive Thank you my friend. This one was fun. Owner is sure happy to have his car back on the road. Love my SIA2000 it will take a lot of practice to learn how to use this tool. Cheers
It must be so frustrating for a pro to try to put an engine back together after it explodes in the hands of someone who doesn't pay attention to detail. One thing about BMW, they don't give out their repair manuals to online services like Mitchell or Alldata. Another reason to never own one.
KY Home Garage should I take a chance on a 2004 with 128,000 miles it needs a coolant tank says that itGets hot but it doesn’t overheat and it also has a miss fire code but he wants to sell it to me for $600 because he really can’t afford to take care of it anymore do you think that’s a good deal

Interesting what’s going on with it now?
@@aidenp5768 it ended up being a ripped hose that goes from the ccv to the oil dip stick causing the vacuum leak. Easy fix, just hard to see.
