I saw a comment in another reaction video that said Jayce had to literally go from the pits of the under city and climb his way up to the topside of Piltzover in a leg brace to finally understand what Viktor had to go through and I thought that parallel in their story was so beautiful.
Another important point that's easy to miss, when he was walking with his hammer on his shoulder, he was carrying his cross. He turned hextech into weapons and he had to carry that burden. But he ended up taking apart his hammer to build his brace. It wasn't the weapons in the end that could help him, it was his ability to create things to improve people's lives, which was always viktors dream. He always had the ability to make things to help people instead of harm them, and only that could get him out of the pit
fun fact.. the ekko jinx dancing scene is animated in 4 fps, just like the 4 seconds ekko goes back in time.. fun little details like this make Arcane great.
It’s not that powder had “more” gem stones, she kept the OG ones from the incident, which is why that universe never invented hextech. She had them hidden.
I think it's more because Jayce is presumably dead. If his technology accidentally caused VI's death, the council could be more harsh on him, he might have been facing exile and ended up actually killing himself
What I think is that those hextech balls Jinx kept are used later in the timeline and the world gets fucked up again by Viktor which Jayce is living that moment. Because it seems like they are sent to the same universe, heimer going to past(waiting 3~ years for ekko), ekko to present and Jayce to the future of the same universe that they were sent to. Because remember Viktor won in all the universes and end up realizing "perfection" or you may call it "Glorious Evolution" was not as good as he thought but end of pursuit so he decided to help jayce
@@Moptop2 Or maybe Jayce is still alive in that universe, he just gave up his research because in the death of a child he saw the destructive potential early on, as opposed to what happened in the "main" universe, where he killed a child with a Hextech weapon after things had already escalated
@@bahadrgokdemir5284 Yep, we don't know if Jayce was in the same universe that Ekko and Heimerdinger. If Jayce was in its future, maybe Jinx tried to reproduce Ekko experiments with her crystals and created a new anomaly.
The meaning of the name of the French song is “my dearest enemy” and the meaning behind the flower on the amulet that Ekko gave Powder is “unattainable love” 😢
If you didn’t know, be prepared to be more depressed. That pendant he gives her is their faces within a blue rose. Blue roses symbolize unattainable love because blue roses never appear in nature. Their love wont ever happen just like a blue rose in a field of red😢
Since blue roses do not exist in nature, they signified the "impossible", in this case, impossible love. But after it was created in a lab in 2002, it also came to mean "dreams come true" 💔
Animation is done usually in 24 FPS but the ekko jinx dance scene was done at 4 FPS for the 4 seconds he can rewind time showing his wish to stop time and keep reliving this moment with her. Also "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" has beautiful cruel lyrics if you even look into the dance scene with the music.
This episode will FOREVER stay in my memory as one of the most beautiful, if not THE most beautiful piece of media ive ever layed my eyes upon. There is SO many nuances and little hints in this episode that make it just perfect. Like how Powder might have had a suspicion pretty early on that smth was off about her boyfriend. Or Silco most likely finding Vanders letter in this universe. Masterclass in all departments is all i can say.
Simply put, if Vi dies in the robbery of Jayce´s place due to his illegal research, there is no way he can get away with a slap on a wrist - so he is exiled (most probably as that seemed to be the other option based on his crime in episode 2) - being exiled he never meets Viktor so he commits s*icide (as Viktor wont be able to stop him) ....fast forward to Viktor, he dies of illness without meeting Jayce and inventing Hextech. Fastoforward to Powder, since Vi died COZ of the blue crystals, she locks them aways so they can never hurt anyone else again.... So in summary: with Vi, Jayce and Viktor dead - all routes for invention of Hextech are closed as 2/3 area dead and the other person normally willing and able hates the crystals far too much to use them.
that and with Vi's death, that must have been a reason for Silco and Vander to meet again and maybe at the process reconciled with one another. Plus also probably that SIlco read the letter Vander wrote in the mines underground. With no Silco being an underworld boss, Singe wouldn't have been able to develop shimmer under Silco. So he must be out there somewhere else. With Mel focusing on developing Piltover and with Heimerdinger, they must have helped make amends and progress with Zaun
This is my favourite episode of the series. All the parallels or opposites between Ekko's life and Jayce's life, aswell as Jayce's and Viktor's life. In our timeline Jayce had a very priviliged life, many things people from Zaun dream about and now he is the one who has to fight his way out of Zaun in a world where Viktor won the fight. Ekko on the other hand was raised in Zaun and lost his family multiple times and now gets to see what life could have been like if they weren't succesful with their little heist that took place in the first episode of the show. Despite Jayce, Ekko and Heimer going to worlds that are polar opposites, they arrive at the same conclusion, Hextech has to go. Also the scene where they dance together is so beautiful and the song always gives me chills ♥
Heimer is a yordle, canonically immortal, he will literally be revived in Bandle City (Yordle's home city/dimension). Whether he is revived back in his OG dimension or the paradise dimension, who knows.
@@mambabajamba5470 It's still sacrifice, because there's no guarantee he'll ever see that version of Ekko again since nobody really knows how Bandle City works with this multiverse thing
17:55 Just parallels. Jayce is living the hell that Ekko has lived his entire life. While Ekko is living the comfortable life that Jayce has lived his entire life.
Cool little detail about Ekkos and Powders dance is that it's animated in exactly 4 frames per second Fortiche and everyone involved is absolutely killing it with everything regarding the artsy stuff like that, the songs this episode, the different ways they visualize stuff like Vanders psyche, the charcoal scene in Episode 1, this 4 frames per second dance animation it's all soo friggin good Also, I believe Heimer did fix the cables and the timejump for Ekko, because we've seen the Hexcore consume 1 entity whenever it tried to fix or influence 1 other entity, so with 2 standing inside the portal it was too much. There were Ekkos mind&body from the timeline we know sharing the body of Ekko (simultaneously suppressing that Ekkos mental?) from this timeline in which everything is fine and Heimers. My headcannon is he wanted to safe both Ekkos in both timelines so that the original can travel back with his body&mind intact and the 2nd Ekko also stays fully intact in this timeline. I believe if Heimer didn't do that 2nd Ekko would no longer exist in that timeline and only 1 of Ekko & Heimer can come back fully intact, while the other probably is missing something or is heavily affected by the hexcore. Also Ekko is definitely stronger than me, I woulda stayed in that timeline and forget about everything ASAP LOL.
The scene where Ekko and Powder are dancing is choppy because it's 4 frames per second; the same amount of seconds that Ekko can rewind back time. The writers nailed it in this episode.
The reason there’s no Jayce in this alternate reality is because no one was there to stop him from jumping from the roof. No hex tech means no Victor wanting to meet Jayce.
Double Heimerdinger's 1000+ days. It might be half the time since the explosion during the job, or failing to help Jayce/Victor when they created their version of the hex tech that was unstable... As others in other thread pointed out. Jayce is carrying his hammer (cross) for creation of hextech and it destroyed his world. When he started to run too fast he tripped, fell, broke his leg. Heimerdinger had been saying don't run too fast to both Victor/Jayce but also, Jinx Ekko. Jinx same mmmm. And they went 4 seconds back in time. Just 4 seconds. It is cool how we see Jinx/Ekko/Heimerdinger create a tiny but stable hextech anomaly..
Hextech was only invented after the incident. Remember how Victor led the investigation and was in Jayce's lab after the explosion? Without the explosion those to likely never meat and Jayce cannot stabilize the crystals.
for me all the Ekko Parts where just tragic, beeing in a perfect world knowing to leave it. I was crying from the start till the end only on Ekko and Powder :( just feeling the desire to wish also to go to another perfect dimension where i could be with my dream girl, i just feel the tragidy
