      Laurence Hanger - Thanks Laurence, just to put things into prospective, I've been fishing the Wye now for the last six years and I've done reasonably well on every visit. However this is my first double! It's been a long time coming. The waiting has been well worth it tho, it's not my biggest barbel but is the best condition barbel I have ever caught. 👍

    Superb Dave from start to finish. Your love of fishing and enthusiasm comes shining through. Congratulations on tempting that beauty. I am aiming to get back on the Wye in the next week or so. I live in Hereford so lucky to have it on my doorstep 👍😊

    Congratulations on the new pb for the Wye, worth the journey up, I've picked up some of my best fish on fishing single hookbaits, on the Trent dyke in newark (on my doorstep), I've had my pb barbel 9lb8oz on a bit of peperami , no loose feed, clear river, stunning fight, in Feb this year and a few pegs up the year before had a new pb chub 5lb7oz on big lump of meat on a size 4 hook, a match was going on further down , they were catching bugger all, see me cast in this big bit of meat , no free offerings as was just dropping in swims along the stretch, usual banter about tactics and 10mins later the big chub, matchmen all went silent lol, thanks for taking us along with you, cheers craig

      Craig Twiner - Thanks Craig, I'll be using the single baits method next time on the Wye if it's low, clear and bright again. The other good thing with using a lead and single hook bait is you don't tend to get caught up on the rocks so much, like you do when using big old fat 5oz feeders. Think I'm going to use PVA mesh next time for delivering loose feed? Thanks for watching buddy👍

      GB Fishing - I love the Wye, I try to have three or four trips a year. I'm going to have a go for the pike this year, just doing my research now on some stretches.

    I'm nearly 50 and not fished a big river for 15 years or more!! Used to go Shrewsbury on the Severn. Me and my best friend are going to the white lion for a couple of days so we are hoping to going for the first time together in years to celebrate my birthday!!! We both like all types of fishing but trotting is our favourite so we are happy to catch dace roach perch as much as the big boys!! I hope theres still some left in there after reading some peoples comments. Brilliant video as well...

    Nice one, Dave - another excellent video. I started my Wye adventures on the same venue about five years ago. I had two doubles in the first year, but, a couple of hundred barbel later, I've not had another double since!

    Nice video showing persistence pays handsomely with a lovely prize from a beautiful river. Even though I find the Loddon to be the one river that's captured my heart over any other, the allure of the challenge I suppose. When can we look forwards to your collaboration with the Fishing For Memories channel you mentioned in a previous video?

      TraceurFlyingPhoenix - I love the Loddon, Kennet and Wye all rivers with different characters and fish to catch. I like to fish each river at different times of the year. I tend to fish the Wye through the the summer months for the barbel, Loddon and Kennet through the the colder months for perch and chub. Filming has been a little slow recently, due to I don't really fish much through the summer months, with autumn and winter being my busier months for fishing and you never know what filming opportunities my crop up, what's this space 😊 thanks for watching.

    great video mate, lovely PB you had there. I always wanted to fishing the wye, maybe once I have wheels I will head there for the Pike, there are ment to besome wackers there! good to see u back on the bank dude!

      @chasingshadows-ananglingob2295  7 лет назад +1

      London Predator Angler - Thanks Barrie, yes the Wye has some amazing pike to be caught however I have noticed that a lot of the water keepers do tend to limit the amount of pike anglers on their stretches. I did ask a keeper the other day why is this? He said its to protect the pike from too much angling pressure, the stretch I fished on my first day only allows two pike anglers only a day.

    • @LondonPredatorAngler
      @LondonPredatorAngler 7 лет назад

      I do understand them wanting to protect the PIKE, a place like that could be over run with pike anglers, in the past 15 years piking has become very very poplour and increased a lot IMO.

      danny reeve - hi Danny thanks for watching my video, I always carry some sort of paste in my ruck sack for when things get difficult. It can give you bait presentation a different dimension.
