Made me think because living in mexico in the city you still can see the stars more clearly. I use to go to the country side with to my extented family.for vacation and its a small spured area. That's true of all things in life. What makes you strongest hurts the most. What gives you the most knowledge is the hardest to understand. The concept of Yin and Yang is everywhere, but just like the dichotomy of black holes and quasars, because it is everywhere it becomes hard to notice. What is most abundant is the hardest to see.
the fact that 2 completely different civilizations that probably didnt even known each other took both this symbol while it was a black holes eating stars thing that humanity would find out in thousands of years later its just crazy
The brightest thing in the universe is the light from my smartphone screen when I get a text while I'm trying to sleep. I can never squint hard enough.
There must be a global holiday in which every light city should be turned off for at least 10 minutes, so that we can appreciate the beauty of a truly night sky
When I go camping in the summer, there are obviously lights. I would always sneak out with my dad and look at the stars because the sky would be full with them, like almost more stars than black.
joe mama same, I do it almost everyweek, We go to a cabin we bought, it was basically a second house, i don’t even know why we call it a cabin, the top floor is the roof that has a telescope a dome, not too large and not too big, we sleep there usually
it's crazy that this is made before we even had an accurate idea of what a black hole's accretion disc looks like, since Interstellar invented the rendering technology necessary to get the image and it wouldn't release until like 7 months after this, and then we didn't get a real picture until the Webb telescope. Still very cool a decade later.
This is a myth, scientists had a solid understanding of the appearance of the accretion disk years before interstellar. It was just the most technically advanced rendering up to that time.
...Because we don't even know if "Dark matter" is actually a form of matter. It's just an unknown source of gravity. y'all... does anyone know which song is playing around 8:43 ?? but anyways, i think space and black holes are my #1 favorite things of all time, and Michael explaining them makes me wanna learn even more. i will always come back to his videos if i wanna just experiment with him from within my own home, even if these videos are almost a decade old, I will never get tired of watching them. thank you Michael, you are truly something so amazing.
"Regardless of who used it first, it was a bright idea. But what's the brightest thing in the entire Universe?" That's the Michael we know and love. Incoherent in every way imaginable.
+Kesomo I wish he would upload more, his videos are so unique they cater to a more intellectual viewer. He doesn't patronise or explain the very obvious like certain science shows. His videos really are excellent.
Jim Bob I guess its a bit difficult to make them, since he's already done a bunch. First he'd have to find a question he hasn't already asked and then he'd have to see if scientists even have an answer for it. It starts off easy and then get progressively harder the more videos you make. So, the once or twice a month schedule does make a little sense
I feel like every Vsause video is a fragment of one, non-interrupting line of thoughts. Michael thinks about everything and gets to everything from everything, and what we're seeing are just cut out fragments of his never-ending thought process.
Michael : it could stretch from the sun to pluto me : ooh!! Michael : and back! me : woah! that's long!! also Michael : 1.5 Millions times!! and me : TF!!!
This is my favorite video by Vsauce, the introduction leading into the topic is brilliant and seem mostly unrelated like most other videos, but the ending looping back to intro giving it its possible true and deeper meaning.
I love to find little details that he puts on the videos as well. For example, at the beginning of the video he appears on the "yang" side of the taijitu, because it is often associated with, among other things, "masculinity" or "maleness". Also there's the pictures at 3:45 and at 8:51 that resembles a taijitu as well.
you might like the Tao Te Jing written ~2500 years ago. Lao Tzu attempted to explain this unfathomable divine polarity. more so relevant today than ever, seems to exist even in science and psychology.
+NASTYAN1MAL Actually i think it would have to be more than 30 seconds, because your eyes need to adapt. I'm guessing the lights would need to be turned off for about 40 minutes.
+Linton S. Dawson It would take your eyes about 30 minutes to adapt to the darkness,so about an hour would be better. Btw i'm extremely fun at parties.
My city used to be underdeveloped. Often experiencing blackouts due to which people often used to lay on their backs to watch stars in the night. 10 years later, streets shine brighter than a flashlight held right in front of my eye.
There is an hour once per year that many towns & cities turn off non-essential lights and only use fire for any. It's called Earth Hour, and sadly the next one's not until March 28, 2020 @8:30-9:30pm.

How does it show that the Darkness wins? Haha it produces more light than anything else!
Too bad it's not an actual photo. Still pretty impressive, though.
10:38 The music, the galaxy and the darkness give me goosebumps everytime.

~ Michael Stevens
No man it's Vsauce who said it! Who is michael Stevens
Sanket Matu The guy who hosts it. Vsauce is simply the name of the channel. He says in every video at the beginning, “Hey Vsauce, Michael here!” Stevens is his last name, wow mind-blowing 🤯

I read that right as he said that
Life of a Black Hole:
Sits down in front of the tv with a bowl of stars buttered with planet energy. It then sneezes a quasar.
HAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHA
And when it farts its a BLAZARE
Micheal: what's the brightest object in the entire universe?

y'all... does anyone know which song is playing around 8:43 ??
but anyways, i think space and black holes are my #1 favorite things of all time, and Michael explaining them makes me wanna learn even more. i will always come back to his videos if i wanna just experiment with him from within my own home, even if these videos are almost a decade old, I will never get tired of watching them. thank you Michael, you are truly something so amazing.
"Regardless of who used it first, it was a bright idea. But what's the brightest thing in the entire Universe?" That's the Michael we know and love. Incoherent in every way imaginable.
Ethan McDonald lol ikr it escalated so fast
Ethan McDonald he will go from zero to the end of everthing in fact if he has not already i would be surprised
He explains the relation at the end of the video.
See the full fucking video yeezus

Why you no videos anymore :( I like them
lol wat
haha, crazy to find you here :D
...i mean wow
This may probably be one of the most cinematic Vasauce episodes.
I've seen all his videos like 6 times, but I gotta keep watching them, they're so gooood.
Same. Most videos get boring the more you watch them, but not these.
+Kesomo True, true.
Yeap.
You wana know what's the brightest thing in the universe?
Your future.

I feel like every Vsause video is a fragment of one, non-interrupting line of thoughts. Michael thinks about everything and gets to everything from everything, and what we're seeing are just cut out fragments of his never-ending thought process.
"Artificial lights allow us to see what's around us but we lose what's above us" that's so deep my brain is turning into a supernova

I almost cried at the images of the stars above cities. I want to see that with my own eyes sooooo bad, not pictures but just seeing that
then check where you could see it and go there
Can't. Still a minor and live in smog infested city and ain't got money to move anywhere quite yet

omg the picture at the end i was thinking that when i first saw it. everything in this Universe is deeply connected and divinely created
Sávio are you sure it isnt because of his white background

For one day a year, every city in the world should turn off its lights for a few minutes so we can appreciate the poetic beauty of the universe.
.....NOT!!!!
+NASTYAN1MAL Actually i think it would have to be more than 30 seconds, because your eyes need to adapt. I'm guessing the lights would need to be turned off for about 40 minutes.
+NASTYAN1MAL Oh, also, that includes smartphones, tablets, TVs, just about anything that emits light.
***** You might be right. I said it because i remember reading about it somewhere. :)
+Linton S. Dawson It would take your eyes about 30 minutes to adapt to the darkness,so about an hour would be better. Btw i'm extremely fun at parties.
I love you, Vsauce
One day of no light pollution would be beautiful
My city used to be underdeveloped. Often experiencing blackouts due to which people often used to lay on their backs to watch stars in the night. 10 years later, streets shine brighter than a flashlight held right in front of my eye.
Yep, and it's called blackout...
There is an hour once per year that many towns & cities turn off non-essential lights and only use fire for any. It's called Earth Hour, and sadly the next one's not until March 28, 2020 @8:30-9:30pm.
*one night, yeah, I would want one.
ikr. One of my dreams is to see the night sky without light pollution
