Really saved me. I was having battery concerns on a vacation in Hawaii and wasn't able to find a shop that would change it for me. Follow this video and it will work perfectly.
Use the plastic pick end of a one-time use tooth floss/gum stimulator. lightly pry between the cap (battery cover) and the outer ring. should come off with no problem. Use the floss pick to help out the o ring & retaining bar, but should just come out. Use outer cover metal tool to carefully remove battery. Do everything reverse order. Cap will 'float' above o ring. Put circular back cover and securely fasten with metal tool. Should be good to go.
The one thing this video completely skips over is how to remove the o-ring and battery cover. In my i300, these are in the unit, solid. I've used my computer fewer than five times and never changed the battery. No feasible way to remove these parts, and the manual tells you not to use tools. Everyone in this comment section seems to have this problem. Come on, guys.
Same for me. The "difficult" part was skipped.... I was worried the seal was sitting just on the outside, underneath that cover. Still, I used a sharp knife and carefully placed it right under the cover, pulled a bit and it came right off. The seal is actually under the cover, but on the inside of the battery enclosure. The rest comes off easy; just turn the computer upside down. All about taking your time.
Sorry, but kind of a completely useless video unless you show how to correctly remove that retainer cover, which is the tricky part if you haven't done it before.
completely worthless video. They did everything so quickly with what amounted to NO EXPLANATION of anything. Use tool. How? Remove battery. How? Remove retainer. How? Clearly this was quickly videoed by someone who has done this many times but cannot be bothered to consider the details that would help a first timer.

How did you remove the little black cover to access the battery after 0:08 Mine is clear and will not move to expose the battery.

cut off the most important part, what a useless video!!!
Great Video - worked first time
What's missing is how he got the retainer off. That's the part I'm having trouble with!
You are so fast in your demo. Can you do step by step bit slowly thanks
Do we need or not to replace the o-ring? Can we reuse it?
Need to replace? Probably not, but why not when they are so inexpensive, especially compared to the cost of the computer?
Which battery?
I put new battery and now is errol i need help

Perfect if you wanna explain stuff without showing how it works -.-
Ummmm what about getting the cover off. The only real reason i looked this up
This is one of the most useless pee poo tutorial videos I have ever seen. Skips over everything lmfao
Useless video as it skips over the only part that isn't obvious
The video so way too fast. It doesn’t help
Stating the obvious without explaining anything! useless
