Thank you for motivating me to become an apprenti watch-repair dude. I went on Amazon, spent $17, got a Swiss Renata battery and replaced my dead battery. You the man!
How did you get the plastic 'thing' out without damaging it? AND...it seems that unscrewing the back stretches or distorts the gasket so it cannot fit back into place.
The gasket? Just pop it out with a small screw driver. There is normally a little notch where you can get the screw driver under the gasket. Be sure not to overtighten when installing the back cover or you will pinch and distort the gasket...
@@MoneyAhoy I tried, there was no purchase by which to lift the battery, I'd have had to destroy something just to get it out. And...the gasket sprang out on opening and cannot be made to fit back in any way to allow screwing the back into place.

Nice work dude! There's no limit to the DIY stuff you can do!!!
Thank you. But God damn the watch companies that make this kinda backing which require special tools. You the real MVP.
makes a fun hobby
This was PERFECT! Thank you! I was able to change out dead batteries in 3 different watches that I haven’t worn in years!
Awesome - glad I could help!
Exactly the video I was looking for. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
"Do yourself a favor, go ahead and pick one up." Classic bro... Great vid by the way, Thx!

Thank you for the video I was gonna try prop it out 😢 thankfully I looked around for the proper video 😂
hi! Is there a way to open the watch back without using that special tool or it's like 100% mandatory? Thanks in advance!

Cool... thanks for the post...
Glad to help! Good luck!
I cannot figure out which bit to use.
Also you can take a paring knife and slipping the blade along the back of the watch and pop it off. Works like a charm.
This kit def doesn't fit all watches. Ordered it and now where near fitting my watch back
Sorry about that - they do have adjustable ones as well.
well the watch repair kit is a little more than 10 bucks now; $23! Inflation for ya. Thanks for the video.
Wow - good lord. That is pretty high inflation!
Let's Go Brandon I guess.
This was helpful in opening the watch back but the tool I bought (amazon UK) was the most fiddly, annoying thing'! Probably took me an hour
That stinks! Some watches can be real sticklers to open :-)
I’m having a difficult time opening mine, what shape were the little screws?
They weren't really screws - you can you grab it and twist it off. Does that make sense?
i have a sekunda seksy obling shape, cant find any slot, any ideas
Sorry - no idea.
You didn't show how to remove the battery.... :(
That's the easiest part - you just remove it out with your fingers or tweezers. Good luck!
Like it.
Oh yeah specific tool 1st duh
Metal tweezers will short out the battery.
The battery is dead, hence why we are changing it :-).
2 small flat heads will take that screw on back cover off lol
I found a chisel works really well, no damage done either
I bought this repair package but unfortunately scratched. I am not recommend this tools, the rubber ball will be ok
Sorry that you scratched your watch. I did scratch up one or two of mine as well as I got the hang of it.
So to change the battery in a watch, i also have to buy a toolkit? That's stupid
There really is no other way to get the back of it open. Yes, it stinks but that's what's needed!
@@MoneyAhoy :(
Don't let your fingers form a circuit between the bottom and the side of the battery or you'll short it out and lose battery life.
And if you take the pin out ur band makes it ten times easier lol
Good tips! Thanks for sharing.
Meanwhile the glass on your watch face is all scratched!
