    I think Jay Dawes is speaking negatively about suspension training. It seems like he believes that suspension training is a poor substitute for weight training, something primarily used when traveling or when one doesn't have access to a fitness center with weights and machines. My experience is that suspension training is better because it is functional training, which, unlike a lot of weight training, focuses on stability, balance, core muscles, and strengthens the joints, among other things. These are aspects that are not always addressed in traditional weight training, especially when using machines. I have read Jay´s book about TRX suspension trainig, reallhy a great book, thank you for that.

      I agree with you. Suspension training has handled my tendinopathy which nothing else was addressing. The full range of motion stretching while under tension feels so naturally wonderful. It's been truly healing for me and very quickly at that. Tendon strength is of vital importance. Younger people may be able handle heavier weight (possibly) before allowing their tendon strength to catch up but older people? No way. This doesn't get enough attention. There are good examples of people to point to who have built great muscle mass with calisthenics and suspension training. Matt Schifferle is super knowledgeable in this area and one of my favorites.

      The body is not designed to be moved in isolation, hence why soo many people have imbalances and injuries.
      Bodyweight moves like suspension training work with the way the body was meant to move in nature and strengthens the body and core the way it was intended to be
