As a Northern New Jersey resident, this video of going through the Holland Tunnel brings back so many memories. Traffic is usually much worse entering the tunnel though haha

Very cool. A number of your videos remind me of my visits to New York every summer as a kid. Could you do a video of how to get to LGA from Malverne or Southern State Parkway?

It seems these roads need some serious maintenance.

We pay for Europe's defense. Basically, if that money went into our country, the place would look like Dubai. I'm sick of Europeans free loading off of the US military and spending less than 2 percent on their military, living like Kings. If Trup gets in, all bets are off. And no more cushy unlimited budgets for social programs and perfect infrastructure.
Also, NY area always had bad roads. Most places in the US have beautiful highway surfaces..

There is a REASON why the tunnels are so slow for speed limit.
If everyone had a 55 mph ride thru the tunnels, what do you do with those cars at the other end? There is 10th Avenue. A Full Stop Light.
The George Washington Bridge on the other hand drives thru with I-95 and the Cross-Bronx, The FDR, The West Side HWY, Broadway, St. Nicholas, and north into Westchester.
Yes, I have driven thru both Lincoln and Holland Tunnels late at night doing 55, because of lack of traffic, but 35 is a more realistic speed during the day, because of infrastructure handling that amount of cars per minute. Even if we could increase the Tunnels to many more lanes, how does NYC handle the cars once they are across?
Now increasing train tunnels under the Hudson from Secaucus or the expanding the "7" subway to NJ is the way to go. Decreasing car traffic in Manhattan will be a new thing, especially with the new toll in Manhattan between certain streets. Not sure how this will play out in courts....because....
If you live in Manhattan, how much will this cost you?
If you live in the other 4 boroughs, how much will this cost you?
If you live in NJ, how much will this cost you?
If you live in CT, how much will this cost you?
Even if you live in PA in our far NW suburbs near Port Jervis, NY..It's a commuter train..Use your cell-phone as a hot-spot for your lap top and get some work done.
Excited about NJT possibly opening up the old Scranton, PA commuter route to NY PENN. The Real- Estate values in some of those NW NJ towns would skyrocket....unless... NJT connects it with existing track to Boonton, NJ . It would be the difference of a 600K property staying the same or going to let's say 1.2M in the same year.
Scenario, Young professional married couple--instead of living in NYC--raise kids way-out in NJ..Great schools, no crime, train to NYC, work on board while travelling. Bonus!! Money left over to actually have a VACATION!!

The U.S. has horrible roadways...the infrastructure looks so outdated and beat up. The tiles on the walls of the Holland Tunnel look like they're ready to collapse and fall off. Looks so outdated and GRIMEY. U.S. infrastructure....what a joke!

because we pay to protect the world. Europe has been free riding off of our military for decades. No longer. We have to maintain bases all over the world because Europe is too lazy to protect itself, still living in a cold war mentality with daddy america there to protect them. How pathetic is Europe and Australia/Japan? Think of what all that money could do with our infrastructure? Europe is a joke, can't even protect itself, just a pathetic bunch of free-loaders. Let's see what they do when Russia comes. If Trump gets in, all bets are off. Goodbye to cushy lifestyle and unlimited social budgets..

And you can't judge all of the US by the NY area. Most of America has beautiful highway surfaces. NY area always had terrible roads. Not to mention the climate their is awful for road surfaces with its freeze/thaw conditions.
