For anybody curious, this is a scene from the show Norsemen. It's one of the driest comedies I've ever seen. It's hilarious, and I highly recommend you give it a watch!
Not at all. Most armors in Oblivion look surprisingly practical for a fantasy game. Of course, with some exceptions looking rather goofy and most helmets being not great-looking at all. Still, I prefer them over vanilla Skyrim any day of the week
@@DarkOmegaMK2 I personally didn't find it that good-looking. Something offputting about those huge gauntlets and pauldrons. The closed helmet was good though
@@pug-aloentertainment3801 I see what you mean. Still, i think it stands out when compared to other skyrim armors which are either too shoddy looking or too pointy and jagged.
I so wanted to be an ordinator outfit on my first Morrowind run (depressingly 20+ years ago). I remember I was so psyched when I found a dead ordinator in a quest and got geared up. As I causally stroll into vivec everyone wants to kill me!
I know the Adamantium Helm of Tohan is the powergamer option with its enchant capacity of 150, but I like how it looks like a cross between a Samurai helm and a Dwemer Tonal Attenuator. Yeah the Ordinator hatelist is more severe than revealing you are a nerevarine. You need to use the console to turn it off.
Lord of the Rings changed elder scrolls. Even Oblivion was supported to look completely different from what we got. Todd Howard saw the Lord of the Rings movie and stopped his plans, and changed the game completely
Did Todd Howard talk about this? I'm curious. Also Oblivion looks really bright and more accurately like a European country, and I could tell with some elvish armor or the mythril armor that there might be some inspiration from LOTR however Skyrim is supposed to look like Scandinavia and it is not accurate at all, it's just dark, grey and dirty 🤣
@@songbird_9563 Don't get me wrong lol I'm Norwegian myself. I just cringe a little at the heavily accentuated accent, though it's probably overdone for comedic effect.
Pretty sure horned helmets weren't a real thing used in battle, an enemy soldier could have easily grabbed one of the horns and man handled the person.
if you want to break your neck go ahead, helmets throught history were always meant to defect weapons not only absorb the impact, the grab thing it's not the problem but a broken neck ...

So sad that the show stopped :(
@@UlvenTES made even more tragic by the fact that it ends on a major cliffhanger with little to no definitive conclusion to the story...
@@mayomonkey9778 Absolutely, when I watched the last season I was so hyped then I found out there won't be any new season. So disappointed 🙄
I have never laughed less at a show I found so utterly hilarious, and I loved it. That's the only way i can describe that show.
I love that show
Meanwhile, armors in Oblivion: *Sounds of pain*

@@DarkOmegaMK2 out of vanilla armors in Skyrim I prefer Dwemer the most, for some reason. And maybe Glass
There is a nordic iron helmet in Morrowind though. It has horns on the side too and its garunteed to be sold by Ra'Virr.
True true ;)
ah yes the one with sunglasses

lol i agree with the guy with horns on hes helmet

He had hundreds of spikes. Spikey things are cool. Horns are spikey; thus you are cool.
If you were wondering wat that was in the backgound of the Morrowind clips it was the sound of the NPC's drip
Oh no, not the unreasonably thicc Norwegian accent 😅
I speak like that :'D

@@Jonas_æ Oh okay!
Oblivion armors are actually okay to be honest.. Except for the glass one
Well as a funfact vikings didn't wear helmets with horns. Their armor also looked much different than how they are portrayed in pop culture.
helmets horns and feathers are actually a part of defense, it's like an airbag to soften a headshot before it touches actual helmet metal
