People get dogs and then don’t want to do any of the work it takes. Dogs are incredibly smart. And loyal. They want to be good. They want stability. But they need to be shown how to be. It’s not very difficult to show a dog that it can’t jump on company, or run at the door. Just a few training bits and they will learn. My Labrador puppy when she was younger, was showing signs of resource guarding. She was eating incredibly fast. When I got near, she stiffened up and would stop eating. She’d side-eye me. I knew I had to nip this behavior in the bud before it got worse. Because something like that left unchecked can become very dangerous in the future. So I read up and watched videos. I used positive reinforcement. And little by little she improved. Took a week of continuous work at mealtimes, if that. And now I can take something from her without a worry if she’s gotten something she’s not supposed to have.

Isn't bloat deadly and needs to be rushed to the vet because its the stomach knotted or something like that? can someone explain that? I am shocked that they don't use shock collars with shock collars to stop the barking or just muzzle them given how chill they are with using a static mat at the door. also do they make shock mats just for dogs or did they just repurpose a shock mat? i ask because i've never heard of a mat for dogs like that in my life personally. shock collars i've heard of etc but never a mat for the very reasons the show calls out with them just learning to jump over it at times etc.
I wish they had the Dexil's Limited DO NOT PET dog collars/harnesses back then as they'd be great for that one dog who needed to not be pet. I don't think they existed then. I've seen them on a few of the dogs in the newest episodes thankfully and that was before Victoria arrived, very happy to see proactive owners. I also wish she did what she did with the st. Banard in the new series with a dog pool so the dog could still get wet etc but not worry about drowning etc.
@@scemolivvyoften times running around and playing, the panting action going, after eating/drinking a full meal… that gets the most common scenario for bloating to occur. That’s why it’s important to wait an hour after feeding them before letting them be rambunctious/exercise.
Is it an actual shock ? Cuz I had an ecollar which people say is a shock collar but mine just vibrated and yes I used it on myself it was at worst an annoying tickling vibration sensation
To keep a lab out of water is torture! It's their 'natural habitat'! Labs LOVE water, swimming is what they're bred to do! You just need to show and teach Guiness to go into the pool safely on leash over the stairs, the same way he comes out. (Cesar often does it) It could be used for him to loose steam, to loose the weight properly, even for physical therapy... What these owners did was just pure madness and lazyness and blaming the animals, not themselves for not training them! It's a shame. And I'm afraid the one of the women really should check in with her dermatologist- I fear for her to get skin cancer the way her face looks, burned from the sun. I don't get it why people still don't protect their skin safely.
Not the most likable couple. Normally people dont like shocking their dogs even if they do it, these ladies dont care. Also that one woman seems to simply hate barking. Ding dong, dogs will bark.
This is what they were taught. Many people think nothing of it. They think it's ok cuz they're told it's ok. Also quiet dogs do exist...you just don't know you got one till you get them home. My first dog never barked.
I wasn't going to post this but I changed my mind as it may help others, to make there minds to stop there dogs jumping in a pool when there are young one's in the pool. My two GSD's would do this with my Granddaughters but never hurt them. My youngest of 4 years of age worked out how to open the gate to the pool, the doors to the garden was open and my two boys was just laying in the lounge, she fell in but because of the distance from the pool to the house no one heard it, it wasn't till my boys barking thought what are they up to. To come around form were i was working down the side of the house to see both of them in the pool, my first thought was one of my boys was really good at opening doors and gates. Went to get them out to find one had hold of her hair the other was in front of her, with out a thought fully clothed just ran jumped in grabbed her, those two boys didn't give up even when getting to the stairs, they just kept on barking and had to show them she was ok. You here stories like this all the time in the dog world and you think yed ok there may be some truth to it. But that is the day I truly believe what dogs can do. RIP Luca and Auggie thank you for all the good times we shared but above all saving our little grandmother .
I wonder if the weight thing at 26:54 is still true. I bring that up because the 7 year per human year thing has been changed recently to go by a dogs weight if that makes sense. If confused, please comment and I will happily explain.
I'm sure it's just some kind of an average guess even at best, since dog breeds vary so hugely in their ideal weight. Just think of a Chihuahua compared to a huge mastiff for example. One pound extra on a normal Chihuahua is like 10-20% of their ideal body weight, whereas on a 120 lb Bullmastiff or a Great Dane one pound isn't even a 1% increase. So the bigger the dog is supposed to be the more extra weight they can carry before it becomes a serious issue on it's own. If an average dog weighs about one fifth of an average human this rule more or less works. The 7 year rule kind of still works too, except now we understand that it's not even all through their lives. In the first year dog age much faster than 7 human years, since a 1yo dog is basically an adult by size and hormonally developed too, so more like a 20yo human. Then it slows down for many years, but towards the end of their life span they seem to age faster again. A 10yo dog on average in healthy breeds is pretty close to a 70yo person, still capable of a lot but basically a pensioner. A 15yo is close to a 100yo human, definitely close to an end and the majority has passed by then.
Only 6 minutes in and am beyond irritated with this couple. A shock mat?!? Seriously?!? That is ludicrous!! Poor pups. Oh, and yeah, let's rehome a senior dog. I just can't with people.... 🤬
Honestly, I don't understand why dogs are overweight on these shows. Unless there is a valid medical condition, THE OWNER controls the diet and exercise. It's not like the dogs grab the car keys and drive to McDonalds for a burger and fries... AND don't get me started on the "re-homing" term. Really?! With all the unwanted dogs in the world you think "re-homing" is the smart choice?
Say whatever you will, I love Maddie's no-nonsense attitude. I laughed so hard when she just flat out said that the chain leash was not cool and that's why she didn't want to use it.
A Labrador is swimming in the swimming pool in the yard and It humping on her back and I think it’s a extremely dangerous situation for her because she’s not able to get in the pool.
These people just make me sick as a doggy momma myself of 4 that fallow me everywhere yes I have difficulty with my puppy yet but if you treat the dog well they will respect you i raise mine like children and they act like it to but to use all them things that hurt the dogs make them in pain and anxiety and they are irritated so what do they expect how would you act if someone was doing all that to you 😢
Dog's are problem that is sll I've seen in these shows definitely woke me up about them things never won't another dog ever again to many problems so sad
Barking uncontrollably is a nuisance and not good for the dog. If there’s an underlying emotional or behavioural issue causing the bark, it needs to be addressed
They’re NOT made to bark. They only bark when they need to bark like in threatening situations or some intruder coming into a property. But they do not at all bark all the time and they are NOT made to bark.
@KittenBowl1 Depends on the dog and the circumstances. Dogs are not meant to bark non-stop, but try telling a hound that they're not made for barking, and that hound will give you a lengthy lecture 😅
The pool is great for his medical problems, but his seriously over weight, also its very common for dogs to naturally jump in to save there family. Its very hard to teach what is play and what is emergency.
It wasn't the owners fault they were struggling with the door training because most trainers will tell you to train one dog at a time and then when they all are good with it, to do it as a group, not just have all 3 at once.
Using pain and fear to train a dog doesn’t teach them the right behavior, it just teaches them to avoid what causes them pain.
Totally agree with you.

Bloat is common in large breeds. It’s from drinking or eating too quickly.
Different type of shock device. Some have different settings
So much dog!! 🐾🐾🐾 💖💖
To keep a lab out of water is torture!
It's their 'natural habitat'!
Labs LOVE water, swimming is what they're bred to do!
You just need to show and teach Guiness to go into the pool safely on leash over the stairs, the same way he comes out.
(Cesar often does it)
It could be used for him to loose steam, to loose the weight properly, even for physical therapy...
FINALLY! SOMEONE WHO LIKES CESAR’S WORKS! I was hoping for someone else to say his name!!!
@@scemolivvyThere's a reason people don't like Cesar Millan. He believes in "alphas" and that crap.
Alpha is not a real thing
Also the dog had a bad hip so the dog cannot go in the pool to swim, their vet said that.
@@iclynnx I have to disagree with you. Sorry. Cesar uses “psychology” as his base of training. Knowing an animal’s psychology is super important.
I agree not likable
Actually I quite like them. 😊
Please tell me I didn’t see a Siamese Fighter / fish in a glass cup / vase at the time 4:35
The pool jumping was probably cute when he was a puppy not so cute anymore!
Maddie's fun 🥲
Those dogs are overweight, bad for their health and joints. More exercice or less food.
What's with the Debbie Downer there? Why are you asking for help if you'ree going to have such a negative attitude?
oh god the poor fish :(
Those dogs need to lose weight!
I love this video
Great video!
Say whatever you will, I love Maddie's no-nonsense attitude. I laughed so hard when she just flat out said that the chain leash was not cool and that's why she didn't want to use it.
Yet she was prepared to use a stacked mat that hurts their dogs
She just sounded ridiculous to me.
A Labrador is swimming in the swimming pool in the yard and It humping on her back and I think it’s a extremely dangerous situation for her because she’s not able to get in the pool.
ohh impresivvvvvvvvvve
These people just make me sick as a doggy momma myself of 4 that fallow me everywhere yes I have difficulty with my puppy yet but if you treat the dog well they will respect you i raise mine like children and they act like it to but to use all them things that hurt the dogs make them in pain and anxiety and they are irritated so what do they expect how would you act if someone was doing all that to you 😢
Victoria is a ✨idol✨
Fact: Labrador + Poodle = Labradoodle
As usual on this show, it is the human relationship problems.
Is it just me or those Victoria look like Taylor swift with brown hair
Dog's are problem that is sll I've seen in these shows definitely woke me up about them things never won't another dog ever again to many problems so sad
11:35 reminds me of Cartman
I can’t agree you should not live in fear that your dog is going to bite I’ll take jovie
You can't train her not to. She's literally just in pain. She'll snap at you too
I can take justice does just have the same issue like jovie
See how them things will do anything for food even if there scard they will follow food
i hope they get training to learn to look after that fish too
Dogs are smart
Gosh... dogs are made to bark. I don't understand how people have a problem when a dog barks, cuz they expect it to be mute all the time.
@@KittenBowl1 right, and people are not made to speak out.
They shouldn’t of used the shock door poor dog
