I got some bilstein shocks 4600 for my 08 frontier the thing is that the front shocks comes up from the strut mount i know im doing something wrong …wondering if you can help

@@RustBeltAuto i tried installing the new shocks used the same spring bought a new plate thats used for the three screws but once i tried to put the spring and shock back on the shock came up through the plate im not sure if that made sense

I feel your pain. We had a costumer who had the same truck and it was rusty beyond rusty. Each job was a nightmare. When he sold it, i had a party!!

Ooooo .....love those "hook 'n screw" spring compressors . Not! If ya don't get those started even an just right when they come loose an finally come to a stop when they meet an immovable object they have the potential to give a person a "high pitched voice". 😬🤪 They don't call 'em "widow-makers" fer nothin'.
I like that method you show at the end for removing the remaining fluid.. Looks way easier than drilling a hole and having it spray back in your face.

Was that truck flooded at one time?
They usually get like this when they get salt on them, and then they sit for a long time without being washed, or driven in a good rain storm. There was also no rustproofing/undercoating done.
