God bless you Texan brother!!
Thanks bro. Have a great weekend
Great tip!
Glad you think so!
Hi Richard That’s interesting, thanks for the tip, me personally, not to worried about subscriber numbers, long as even a few are interested in my channel I’m happy that somebody is getting some thing out of it, hope your training & ultras are going good 😀🌲🌴✅🏃🏽♂️👍
Thanks. The main effect is to the views on the video. It can prevent it from being shown to new viewers by youtube. Hope you are doing well. I like to visit New Zealand some day
ขอบคุณที่แบ่งปัน ขอให้เป็นวันที่ดี 👍👍👍
Thanks my friend
Beautiful colored t-shirt. May it be your great day, Richard.
Thanks Kob!
Good advice
Thank you
Thanks for the tip
Thank you
Good point, Richard. I used to assume that everyone commenting on my channel were doing the same as i do, which is to always watch the full video. I guess that's not the case! 😄👍 Have a great day yourself buddy.
Thanks Mark. I think it impacts mainly the longer videos. If you are interacting with mainly runners then risk is low. I had folks from many other hobbies just short viewing my videos. Have a great day
I always watch my friends' video to its entirety but I think you're onto something. I've been was posting and commenting less and therefore had less comments on my channel. But my numbers of subs went up 😮
Yeah Thomas , I think the key is if the non niche watchers don't just open for a few seconds and paste a comment then the retention rate jumps alot. They are being nice but actually hurts the video. Hope you are doing great!
I know what you're telling, that's why I don't comment from my phone, because I don't have the time to watch the whole clip. It's one of my own rule not to close a clip until it's over, that's why I'm commenting/responding to comments only from my computer, because usually, when I'm responding to comments on my channel, I also check the friend's channel, if it's a channel on running, travel, or other things I'm interested in. Best wishes Richard!
Thanks Mihai. Hope you are doing great. I do the same thing. I usually only watch long form videos on my computer.
👍 Thanks for the Tip (and figuring it out the hard way 😮)
Thanks. Yeah I seem to learn things that way sometimes. Hope you are doing great
Thank you for the tips, Richard!
Thanks Jay
Great advice, should do more race videos, trail previews of local trails
Thanks Sam
Richard, thanks for highlighting that audience retention is key in the YT algorithm. As you said, YT is focused on advertising, so they will show my videos to people that watch the first minute then click out, but YT gets the ad revenue from the opening ad. That then hurts my videos. Any tips on how to improve retention rate? Thanks.
Thanks Reto. I think the key is to stay under 5 min. I learned that from some others. My videos were too long before. That seems to help
@@Runnerrwe Thanks Richard
Great tip!
