Attachai Fairtex’s unassuming nature and camera shyness belies an incredible story of a young kid who was thrust into a life in Muay Thai by family pressure, and rose to become one of the best fighters of his time. Like many poor kids in the Thai countryside, Muay Thai was a mean to ease the family’s financial strain. Attachai never had the chance to think about what he wanted to do if he was not a fighter. Since 8 years old, he’s fought professionally - first in small village events, and over the years rose up the ranks in big Bangkok stadiums with huge side bets, and also representing Thailand internationally. Attachai is known for his tricky ring craft and impeccable timing, often making his bigger opponents look flimsy and unbalanced. Watch his fights to see how he controls the ring. ------------ This project is part of a documentary series started by Angie, a Muay Thai enthusiast based in Singapore (follow her on IG to support her works): instagram.com/angiewon9 A: “A question I asked Attachai that had him perplexed was, “What is your secret to becoming a champion?” If I can paraphrase his (exasperated😅) reply, it would be: “..to put your head down and keep grinding. Whether you are winning or losing, there is always something to learn and improve on. Don’t think about the what ifs, don’t listen to what people are saying, don’t watch what they are doing. Sometimes too much of that can mess up your head, and distract you from your path. Just watch yourself and be mindful of your own progress.” ------ Check out my upcoming book Legendary Striking (60 pages free): www.legendarystriking.com If you'd like to see the full transcript of my technical breakdowns and additional details, sign up to my mailing list. Thanks for putting these up. The interview really let his personality shine through. I went Attachai's gym for a bit, and he really is a kind, unassuming man who just wants the people around him to be comfortable and happy. Its amazing how so many of these Thai fighters seem so placid in daily life but are utterly savage in the ring.
I trained with this guy; one of the most real guys ever. An incredible trainer and mind for the sport. It's a whole different level with him. Threw me around like a rag doll. They play this game like volleyball except it's with your feet from time to time as well. Great place to train if anyone is inclined.
I’m at this gym now and it is the best gym experience I have had! 👍 Attachai’s Team is awesome! 🥇🏆🎖🙌🥳☝️👑 the apartment is 5min walk the food is good and the training is with the best team in Bangkok! I haven’t left yet and already I must come back ASAP!
I have been visiting this genius for the last two years. This December will be the 3rd in a row. I love the training there and highly recommend Attachai.
I love these videos. So in-depth you feel you're speaking to the individuals themselves. The Thai people are so humble it's humbling me watching these, I suppose I'm being told to be the best person I can. Keep up the great work... These really are special. Diamonds in the rough 🙌🙏
i write comment on the internet not often but i must say this time . your each video awesome. a short 15 min video gives a lot of feeling like watching 1,5 hour whole good quality movie . and i dont know why but specially on your old fighter interviews i end up with cry . so touchy. i feel true mean of being kind heart human being. i love Thai people and your perspective the way how you connect with them and able to capture their soul to present us .. Hope one day you come up with a cinema movie :)) like Beautiful Boxer
Great documentary! I'd love to see more of these, about other Thai greats like Samart, Changpuek, Burklerk, Dieselnoi, etc... Thanks for the great content! 🙏🏻
At the same time, maybe he envy yours. He never liked Muay Thai and was forced into it. It wasn't what he wanted to do in his life. He spent his whole life doing something he did not want to.

@@LawrenceKenshin Yes, that's what I got from his interview. Are you going to post anymore videos with this kind of theme? Really interested to see former Muay Thai Champs' stories as well. Thanks for the consistent high quality/contents uploads man
@les He beat Anuwat Kaewsamrit, Lamnamoon Sor Sumalee and Samkor at Lumpinee. And come on, to get a draw with Saenchai and Namsaknoi is effing amazing!!!
Shyness... And modesty. What an exemple. Thanks you a lot to make us meet and touch through your work the personnality of a such great champion. He looks like the most peacefuf man on earth.
It is a sad story that he spend his life doing something he didn't want to do. For a guy who doesn't like Muay Thai or fighting, he is damn good at it!
Despite the initial unwillingness in taking up Muaythai,(wonder if someone saw his potential or possibly economic hardship?), after all he is successful, one can be lulled by his calm and polite demeanor only outside the ring, all these plus his attempt at English earns my respect.

Lawrence Kenshin good one bro!! I love this video. It’s great to hear from the fighter himself. Humble outside and deadly in the ring.
Thank you for your great work man. I´m a skateboarder but all my life i come back to muay thai. Its the best lifestyle you can have
Where is the Thai boxing hall
I’d love to see a breakdown of attachai’s footwork, stance and feet placement. I based a lot of my own Muay Thai on just that.
I love Attachai for trying to speak as much english as possible, even though its minimal it gives his emotions across much more than subtitles would.
" I can not think, only focus"...Damn, that just changed my life.
It’s very wise
