Looks to have worked pretty well. Will have to keep that in mind when ever mine arrives. I am hoping with the 2Dr and all the delays the newer ones don't have that clicking.
Lube = dirt collector. Use a 3/8 heat shrink tube (for automotive wiring) and slide it over the alignment pin near the driver's outside ear. I cut the tubing to about 1/2 inch long. it has to be forced over the pin, but it worked like a charm and no future mess!
My thoughts exactly also if you put the panels inside the storage bags you would need to wipe the pins first So you forced the shrinking tubes so you didn’t need to heat them up Did you apply it only to the drivers rear pin? My top seems to sound just there, but didn’t sound when new. Maybe all pins eventually do so? The front ones are thinner so if you applied on those did you shrinking them with heat?
@@justinwilliams2144 yes I just installed mine exactly there and I will test it, if other pins begin I would do the same. I found out that making a little perpendicular cut to the tub at the base makes ir way easier to push it to the pin.
Seems to have worked well! And such an easy maintenance step, I will have to remember this if I ever get my 2Dr. Still no build date, beginning to think mine may get pushed to my23. 😊
@@Overlanding4Fun no sir I have not. I did not reserve until 02/27/2021 because I did not want to get it until 2022. I did not know at the time that Ford and Covid would work so hard to make it happen . Lol! Guess it did not help to order the 2dr badlands with lux.
Good question, I did just the front panels. All of the reports seem to point to the outside rear pins of one or both of the front panels that are making the noise.
Started to notice mine is clicking too. I have a 2 door and sounds like it's coming from the passenger side front panel. I will have to give your tip a try! How has the clicking been since you posted your video? Have you had to reapply the grease? Thanks!!
Good question, I have not heard any more noise since I lubed the pins. I am assuming that the pins will need to be lubed every once in awhile depending on how often the tops are removed.
I know the feeling, I had 8 different build dates waiting for mine. Every time I received an email from Ford about the Bronco, I was afraid to open it.
@@Overlanding4Fun I'm on my 3rd build week with 1 build day. After seeing the "ice mountain" video I have little to no hope of seeing mine before June.
Thank you for watching the video. So far after a month, the noise has not returned. I figure that I will wipe down the pins and reapply the grease a couple times year if I am taking the tops out a lot.
Let me know your thoughts. I think adding this to my maintenance schedule will not be a big deal.
@broncowildoutdoors also has a video with a similar but slightly different fix.

Hopefully they will get it figured out.
I couldn‘t see exactly where and how much lube you put on. Definitely sounded much better though. Thanks for putting this out there.
Awesome video! I can't stand the clicking sounds the hardtop makes. Definitely will try this when the weather cooperates.
Duane and Gavin at Bronco Wild Outdoors also has a video with a similar, but slightly different fix. ruclips.net/video/VFkT0WF4Yvk/видео.html
THANK YOU so much. I did this with WD40 on my 2021 First Edition Bronco, and it’s finally silent!!! 🎉 🔇 Ohhhh the peace 🙌🏼
Awesome! It appears to work. Great Video Tim 👍

@@feralc it was a very tight fit so there was no heat needed. Sound went away 100%. Yes it was the driver side pin by your left ear.

@@jaimelyons3166 just wrap the pins with electric tape and you will get rid of the noise.

Hove you looked in to ordering through another dealer? I would see if you can find one with a better allocation.

Did you do just the two front panels or middle one also?
Good question, I did just the front panels. All of the reports seem to point to the outside rear pins of one or both of the front panels that are making the noise.
Fingers crossed man
I think adding some grease to the pins could easily be a regular maintenance item for the hardtop.

Thanks for your reply!
Hopefully your fix keeps working, and it would be even better if a permanent fix eventually was available.
thanks for the video man. It's been a year now, did the fix take care of the problem for the long run?
2021 ford bronco outer banks for sale in BC Canada. No leaks, speaks or rattles.
Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for the feedback.
Still no Bronco for me, just had my 2/16 "build date" moved again, to a 2/28 "build week". Just so sad and disappointing!

Go check out Duane’s fix on Bronco Wild Outdoors. I the he’s got a good fix.
My thoughts are, you shouldn’t have to lube them. Factory needs to come up with a permanent solution
