The high volume nodes (HVN) and the low volume nodes (LVN) are so important that it seems strange to me that no platform allows us to establish a level (e.g. 30% of the maximum volume in the displayed range) below which the user defines an LVN and a level (e.g. 70% of the maximum volume in the displayed range) above which the user defines an HVN and which can be highlighted with different colors
How do you chose the right timespan? Does it makes sense to start always from last swing low? Imagine you have an up-swing follwed by a correction and you want to find relevant S&R. Do you consider only the up-move or do you consider up-move+correction-move? Thank you
You have to look at it as different "legs" or "rotations". So for example if my main trading TF is the 1hour. Then I use the daily for my higher term bias. And I would look at the price rotations on the 1h. So if we are for example in an uptrend, I look to enter on a retracement of the last "roration". So that means that the last obvious swing low and the new higher swing high and look for a retracement within those range. If using volume profile, then I look to enter on low volume areas, so retracements into the edges of high volume nodes.
These videos are gold thank you for your contributions. I had a question how many days of volume profile do you take into consideration for intraday trading? Like the previous day session only or multiple days? Also the extended hours trading session how important is it for that days market hours trading session?
I always do a htf and ltf combo. LTF I use the session VPs, divided between extended hours (6pm-9:30am EST) and regular hours (9:30am-4pm). For HTF I apply a longer term VP on the daily/hourly chart and it varies. It may be a few weeks long or a few months. I try to catch the last major price rotations relative to where price is now.
I do place importance to ETH profiles. Like if I take trades in regular hours I will be aware of where the value area extremes, POC and HVN's of ETH are for targets or entries.

Hey. Sure. I made a recent video on the new improvements to TradingView's VP tools and I share a lot of info there is you want to check it out. But specifically for the Visible Range VP it is the only one I like to have set to the right side. And I set the value area at 68%. But on the visible range I actually keep it all in one color, so I don't really mark up the value area lines or POC. I use it mostly just for the HVN and LVN contours in general. And the row size I usually have it around 250. Which gives me a good level of detail.

In regards to Tesla, how can you have a huge volume based time sell off and have the price jump dramatically?
Those instances are where you identify absorption, especially using orderflow tools. Aggressive sellers hitting a level where very large limit buy orders are being loaded up.

My question is how can u trade with recent volume based on past volume. I understand how u mark the support and resistance zones , ex i mark mine in D1 AND 4H because i don like day trading , but from one timeframe to another , volume changes, and i feel lost
For daytrading for example I mark my HVNs from the daily/1h chart and then look for local areas on the session VPs that match. I will try to make a new video talking more about using multiple time frame VPs soon.

@@vitorpalma4278 Definitely. I have 2 courses focused in Vp. One is focused just on VP and price action which works great for both swing trading nd day trading in all kinds of markets. And then the day trading VP course is more focused on intra day trading with confluence of orderflow tools mainly applied to Futures, but it can be used also in FX futures, Stocks and Cryptos.

Are you saying at 9:40 that there's the same amount of volume above the darker region as below it? It looks very lopsided.
Not necessarily the same. It was not so clear there but basically means there’s 32% of volumes on the outside of the value area. Which in this case I always use 68% for it.

It's all based on the exchange data for that symbol. The profile will encompass a set area of price action and then the profile distributes the vertical buy/sell volume.
@@PriceActionVolumeTrader I understand what a volume profile is in general, that the value area represent 68% of the total volume, and that the rest is the remaining 32%, but I don't understand what determines the percentage that's above and below the value area (it seems like it could be 5/27% or it could be 18/14%, for example, or anything else). If it's considered an important area, it seems like it's important to know why the upper and lower bounds are set exactly where they are.
