    Wow! I followed the first AUDUSD example step by step and it was amazing how well your prediction came out! That did exactly what you said! The analysis is very powerful because at that time the data was not available, 8 months later the data is already available and I could verify how accurate the prediction was! Really impressive. I will review the rest of the examples.

    Great video about VP trading strategy. I use VP for crypto. 37:22 : Regular problem for setting a stop loss is the "stop hunt low" , so you you get stopped out before the chart takes of to the upside. You can not be sure where the wick is going to be... Maybe you can do a video about that sometime. I am sure it's not a crypto thing but for Forex or futures market as well.

      It's always good to keep it as simple and clean as possible. You can apply volume profile to forex and CFDs and it's precise too. Like you can do ES futures or for example I sometimes use the SPX500 cfd for macro analysis with volume profile and it resembles the futures charts almost identical.

    I'm a little late to the party, firstly this is truly an amazing video, thank you for sharing! But I had a question regarding the example at 38 minutes. Wouldn't this be a little bit of a risky trade to take? Looking at the market structure, it looked like the market was on a downtrend at that point, I get that where you took a long, this was an area of support, but wouldn't it have been better to be looking for shorts at the top of volume nodes instead?

    How do you backtest a strategy like this? And when I say backtest, I mean in a way that removes all subjectivity, provides statistical significance, etc. It seems that the rules are a little malleable, which invites confirmation bias into the backtesting process.

    • @PriceActionVolumeTrader
      @PriceActionVolumeTrader  Год назад

      For me it’s come from years of using Vp, studying, etc. And just watching price develop even on intraday session VP basis. If I am patient then these setups have given me the best win rate.

    • @FreeMarketSwine
      @FreeMarketSwine Год назад

      @@PriceActionVolumeTrader Thanks for the reply. What would you say is a typical win-loss ratio and profit factor for this strategy? I tend to use mean reversion strategies where stop losses often hurt far more than they help in the long run, but the downside is that drawdowns can be painful at times. I guess this is technically kind of a mean reversion strategy, but it's very nonlinear in theory compared to standard mean reversion strategies (i.e., price reaching certain levels can be a clear signal that the theory has not held whereas indicator based strategies would say to keep holding) and therefore stop losses can be set more rationally.

    • @PriceActionVolumeTrader
      @PriceActionVolumeTrader  Год назад

      I'd have to browse through to come up with exact figures as I use this is a lot of different timeframes, markets, etc. But yeah, in a way it is a trend following strategy because you are looking for a "pullback" for a long setup at the edges of HVNs, and vice versa. Of course I use other factors and patterns, etc too.

    Do you scale out your trades or all in all out? If yes, what would you recommend 1/3, 1/2? and do you move your stop to breakeven after hitting one or more of your targets?

    • @PriceActionVolumeTrader
      @PriceActionVolumeTrader  Год назад

      I usually open 2 contracts and try to take profits in 1 at the first trouble area. Once that hits I’ll tighten the stop on the second contract to break even or in profit depending if there is a logical structure to put my stop behind.

    • @PriceActionVolumeTrader
      @PriceActionVolumeTrader  Год назад

      Correct. Well it depends. Usually if I am trading right at the regular session open (RTH) after 9:30am then I base myself in the lower time frames on the previous extended hours session VP and the previous day RTH profile. But as the day progresses and the current RTH profile develops more, then yeah I start using that mostly. That is why I also like trading the last 2 hours of the day 2-4pm EST cause now I have the whole session VP well filled in.

    • @PriceActionVolumeTrader
      @PriceActionVolumeTrader  2 года назад

      Yeah. Some people don;t place imprtance to overnight profiles as they are formed on much less trading volume, but I do like to always have a split session profile in futures for ETH and RTH. So yes, I always keep in mind important levels from the previous session like POC, Value Areas, HVNs, etc.

      I went over this in my new VP settings video. Forex VPs are calculated based on up/down vol instead of buy/sell vol and TradingView calculates it based on a price direction inside bars. It is still pretty precise and effective.

      It doesn’t matter. It’s not like the Fib tool. You just click anywhere and drag and it will set the vertical place where it sets.

    Sir For Intraday Trade on Index, which TIme Frame to use and how many days data to be used for anchoring?

    • @PriceActionVolumeTrader
      @PriceActionVolumeTrader  2 года назад

      For my intraday trading on ES futures I use both a 5min chart snd a tick chart, usually between 2000-3000 ticks. I will put a long term profile on a daily and hourly chart covering the basic principles from the Anchoring video I release a few weeks ago here on RUclips.

    Great content but what are your volume profile settings, I get confused marking out these zones... That would be really helpful

    • @PriceActionVolumeTrader
      @PriceActionVolumeTrader  2 года назад

      The setting are pretty basic really. I show them alot in the videos. 68% value area, I usually do like 250-300 rows as the amount of details for the nodes. The main thing is just hinging the start of the profile to a significant confluence swing point for the timeframe you are executing from.

      I always look to hinge it to the last major rotation where price is overlapping. Because you need some kind of past reference to where price is now. So you can go see my weekend Bitcoin analysis video and see where my longer term profile is hinged from. I always have them extend all the way to the right at present to keep updated with the latests volume activity.

    What is the name of the volume profile indicator that you put on the Trading View platform?

    • @PriceActionVolumeTrader
      @PriceActionVolumeTrader  2 года назад +1

      No problem. TradingView has 4 types. I have a video going over all of them, but most of the time I use the Fixed Range VP drawing tool from the left hand menu. And anchor it to a key inflexion point and have it extend to the right.
