    Rik you have made my day with this recipe I've stopped bying HP and Daddies the last ones I bought I threw them in the bin to much of a vinegar taste I will have a go at your creation ❤ by the way I live in Birmingham and I used to catch the bus to work outside the HP factory and all you could smell was vinegar in the air Happy days 😂

    Thanks for this! I’ve made different HP sauce recipes before but I believe yours is the closest.

      Thank you. It's really good after a few weeks. I use it all the time. To be honest in the HP bottle. No one has a clue. Best, Rik

    I see now why you didn't have a store-bought brown sauce recommendation. I get tired of the standard premade stuff. I'll be making this. Thanks Rik.

    Thanks for your cooking videos Rik. Please keep them coming.
    Out of interest, is that a regular portable camping stove you’re using and if so, are they ok to use indoors ? Reason for asking is that I currently cook on a ceramic hob and occasionally would like to use gas, especially for curries etc. I was thinking of buying something similar but the gas stoves state outdoors only. All the best, Dan.

      Dan have a look here in my shop page amzn.to/3QY8LMm its amazon but don't worry it will take you straight to what i recommend. I use one everyday - I make all the curries for Not Another Curry Show on there and as you have seen i make most of the meals on the stove for this channel. They are brilliant mate. Indoors they are as safe as anything. Actually have a look at this video on my other channel skip through to the stove you will see how the gas goes in etc ruclips.net/video/2ZYsi2U1DbU/видео.html Best, Rik

      Hi Rik, I am just getting down to the last dregs of my last bottle of HP here in China so finding your excellent video was great timing! I can get HP here but at a price😂 What do you think would be needed to get it closer to HP? Where are you based if you don’t mind me asking?

    • @BackyardChef
      @BackyardChef  Год назад

      Very pricey in Asia. I'm in Thailand. Not too sure and that's honesty - its a great brown sauce I make it all the time because of the expense and it tastes fantastic as time goes on. Its a close one. Best, Rik

      I actually put in jars and can it under boiling water for 10 mins. When my sauce bottle is empty I put the content of the jar into the bottle. That way I only use what I need and the jars last all year. Best, Rik

    As a fellow UK expat living in Thailand, have you ever thought of making Branston Pickle?

    • @BackyardChef
      @BackyardChef  Год назад +1

      I have indeed - you cannot buy swede here. Only imported in at the same price as buying gold. Best, Rik

      I have not tried to make Branston Pickle myself. I do not have the cooking prowess you have. I have tried your Madras and Jalfrezi and they were fantastic. With all the shortcuts you teach (Baked Onions as BIR gravy). I am now having a curry every second day! @@BackyardChef
