Good for you with the carnivore diet. Ive been on keto/mostly meat diet with intermittent fasting for 7 months and im down 70 pounds. I still have about 40-50 more to go, but my hypertension is gone and ive gone from 3x shirt to xl. It's the best way I've found that works for me.
congratulations to you! I have been doing mostly Keto, highly recommend it I am 60 pounds lighter and keeping it off is pretty easy. Kind of tricky now because my garden is producing and in the old days when I was much younger that would mean most meals were vegetable centered. But the zucchini and Swiss Chard I can eat and peppers and eggplant and cucumbers, cant eat all I want tho, the tomatoes I need to control myself with. I do really miss the pizzas with the fresh veggies most of all. But I don't miss my arthritis and headaches and tiredness at all.
Keep up the good work, people!
What kind of workout have you been doing?
@@ayylienn absolutely none whatsoever. I mean, I'm not completely sedentary, my job requires me to be on my feet 8 hours a day moving around, but in terms of exercise, I havent done anything. Needing to exercise to lose weight has actually turned out to be an outdated and misguided way of thinking, similar to the food pyramid being used to represent healthy eating. All those grains? Nah, those are what impede weight loss and overall healthy living. Carb-free living is the answer to weight loss, not exercise, atleast for many people. Of course, everyone and their body is different, so there's no one true solution, but for most, exercise is not necessary if carbs are removed from one's diet, according to the modern research on the subject.
@@ayylienn Generally speaking exercise is 10%, diet is 90% when it comes to weightloss.
I've been a type 1 diabetic since I was 5, and have pretty much much been on a carnivore diet by accident because it makes it easier to manage my blood sugar with no carbohydrates
As a type 1, I naturally eat carnivore or keto
@@DanielJohnson-ec8rk As type 1s, does eating keto/carnivore make you able to live an otherwise completely standard lifestyle, or do you still have to take certain medications etc.?
@@hillehai I don’t force a keto/carnivore diet, just natural preference. I still have to take insulin through a pump that administers different amounts at different times throughout the day. Eating the way i do does allow my pump to use a lot less insulin than I would otherwise
@@DanielJohnson-ec8rk I see. Thanks for the response!
Thanks for your reply. I have been wondering about this.
Some perspective though: 75 good days and 7 bad days is better than 84 bad days! And 90% of all days since you started have been good days. Keep it going, good job!
Due to food poisoning, I ended up doing a 3 day fast and that ended up giving me tons of relief from all kinds of issues I had. I'm leaning towards carnivore in the near future so videos like these are a big help!
Just treat it like a restriction diet. Start off replacing 1 thing out of your normal meals at a time for a couple days, then 2 things, then 3. After a couple weeks you will be well on your way to carnivore. Figure out what you can live without in your meals, like dropping the carbs, and maybe maybe adding in something else to replace them, even veggies in the beginning. e.g. adding 1 onion and 1 tomato to a meal instead of having potatoes, or cauli rice instead of white rice. Then later on changing the percentage of meat to vegetable ratio in your meals.
Just note that once on carnivore you can't have anything else. It sets you back on your diet, brings back a lot of health issues, and stimulates your cravings. So prepare carnivore snacks, or stock up on burger patties and eggs and get an electric grill to make them super fast.
If you do one meal a day it's 24h of fasting every day. It give a break to your digestive system also it trigger autophagy where your body get rid of cancer cell and other crap.
Sorry about your food poisoning experience. I had food poisoning once when I was in my early 30's. It was so awful. I will never forget it.
Right after a 3 day fast would be the perfect time to start on a calorie restricted carnivore.
About 15 years ago, I caught some sort of virus from my friend that just caused vomiting. I felt better in a couple of days, but if I ate anything, I would get sick again. I ended up going a week without eating and my IBS was completely gone and never came back even when I kept eating my crappy vegetarian diet.
Ive been on the carnivore diet for years. My first year I loss over 125#. I am now 220# down from over 425#
That is amazing! Im 29 years old. All my life (save college) i have sturggled with my weight. I am currently tipping the scales at 300 pounds. I feel awful every day. I cant get to the gym because of my exhaustive and demading work schedule of 12-14 hours a day. I had heard about this diet several years ago and didnt think much of it. About 6-8 months ago my older brother started having heart problems. Long story short he had to chage up his diet. He went carnivore. Had i not seen him in person, i never would have believed his reults. 60 POUNDS IN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS, and that was with no gym. Now, he is down around 100 pounds and just now starting back in the gym. This has inspired me to start the carnivore diet. I'm very excited (and a little nervous) to do this. But I'm tired of living like i am and honestly looking like i am. Being too embarrassed to go out and do stuff because of my weight.. not going on dates.. I'm just sick of it. So i have committed to the carnivore diet and my next round to the grocery store (in a few days) I'll be starting up on this. The lowest I've been since college was 229 and that was with hours upon hours of exercise. My goal is 100 pounds. I have doubts but I'm going to give it all i have. Mind over matter. Thank you for sharing this. If anyone has any tips, resources, etc., it would be appreciated and i am all ears. This is the first diet i have actually been excited about going on! However, i want to see this more as a lifestyle change rather than "diet."
Now that’s inspirational. Keep on keeping on! You are a Winner.❤
Since your60 day video about carnivore I started it. So far I have lost 17lbs. In 2 weeks I am prediabetic with high blood presure and vitamin d deficient. And I weighed 260. Its amazing how much I eat in the morning and stay all day most of the time. Thanks for sharing your story
I started at 210 last year and am at 170 and holding. Carnivore forever
@@philais : What about fatty liver?
@@wopalongcassidy My fatty liver was the first to recover. You?
@@philais : Don’t get offended. I haven’t been on the program. Its similar to Atkin or Paleo. It puts you in keto acidosis. It is a way to lose weight. But some may not tolerate it.
Hi Mel, if you don't mind me asking: what was your diet like prior to carnivore? Did you eat predominantly plant foods like vegetables and fruit? Or was it mainly ultra processed food? Am genuinely interested what your previous diet was compared to now. Thanks 😊
You're rad Larry and Im glad you enjoyed your vacay other than way the food made you feel! Honestly, this video to me is one of many that shows that all those people who claim to eat super healthy clean diets then do big mukbangs of unhealthy foods frequently are definitely BS'ing. The cheat days add up when you're making multiple videos a week. It always catches up to you even if you cant see it on the outside! So good on you for realizing its not worth going back to that and cheat days should be very infrequent. You're one of the realest people left here on youtube
Hope you feel better soon! Next time maybe avoid all those deep fried foods and eat the green beans.
In the beginning of keto/carnivore it is important to learn theses lessons. Proud of you!
Updates?
I love hearing the updates to your journey. I subscribed back when you covered dollar tree stuff.
Your such a nice, enthusiastic and kind person it's so nice to hear about you doing better and your health getting better. I hope we can all be here to witness you coming back to your prime!
Everyone slips and sharing your slip and what happened means a lot with us all too.
Thank you just for being you dude.
Hey Larry! You're doing great man! Don't beat yourself up when you go off track a bit. I'm doing ketovore and I use to beat myself up terribly when I had a cheat day/cheat week. I'm currently down 117 pounds and have learned a lot on this journey. I completely agree that it's okay to have a cheat day here and there. I really enjoy hearing your updates and I'm proud of you brother, keep it up!
Diet related: DON'T ever get gastric surgery until you understand the almost guaranteed long term problems.
Killing it, keep it up!
Gotta say, while I don't follow a carnivore diet I would definitely be happy on it, I love all the meat and eggs! It's great you found a solution to so many problems, and it was just a change of what you eat. Makes you really wonder about health and the chemicals in our processed foods.
@@mongoosegang Oof, yeah, meat prices are definitely high right now. I think chocolate milk would be what I miss most, have a glass every night before bed, Fairlife is delicious and no lactose, more protein so a great treat at the end of the day.
I've watched your videos for so long - you actually inspired me to give this diet a shot from the last video you posted... cheers.
Keep it up Larry, you're not alone on this. Strict keto/carnivore has worked wonders for many of us! That comparison between your past self and the augmented health state you re in with carnivore is what keeps us all adamant on our nutrition goals. Meat is the way to go!
I haven't tried the carnivore diet, but as soon as you started talking about eatinf on vacation, I cried for you a little because I knew what was coming. Hoping you feel better quickly!
Your results are exactly why I haven't cheated in almost 5 years since I changed my lifestyle. I feel great eating carnivore, why would I risk that for some carbage? Even going out to dinner, I never have a problem finding something I can eat. YMMV 🤷♂
I also refer to it as CARBage, hope one day it catches on!
i am with you. I don't eat garbage anymore. I like the new me and want to stay that way
Truth, Cheat days are overrated as hell, just do a clean bulk day every 1-2 Months so your body doesn't go into famine mode. I do a big 3hour Workout every Friday and eat a bit more on Saturday to stop my body from switching to energy conservation mode but doing trash food cheat days is just a lie, eating processed trash and tons of carbs as a treat is not worth it.
@@bugglebegger143yes they are but you got to slowly take it out of your diet, even sugars are very hard to omit from your diet as it's highly addictive
If you’re restricting yourself to a food and cannot process other foods thats a problem my guy its the same as eating plants till u cant even handle eating meat physically
enjoy hearing about your carnivore diet and I started doing it too. I eat twice a day and I never feel hungry also pleased with my weight loss 15 lbs after 1 1/2 weeks. I have been dieting all summer and have had no success until I started this carnivore diet.
15 lbs after 1.5 weeks is not healthy at all. Maybe get a blood test, healthy amount of weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week
ONCE A WEEK sir... Caster Oil, take a dose so your body will eliminate that OLD POOP.... I can attest to the fact that eating meat WITHOUT vegetables will decrease the amount you poop, so I personally make up for that by taking caster oil ONCE A WEEK...that's really all you need.
Thanks a million for years of great videos!
Thanks for the honest and timely info Larry! I went on the carnivore diet plus fasting after seeing your previous video about it and I've been on it for two weeks now. I'm now down 9 lbs and my my blood pressure has gone down to almost normal. I'll be staying on the diet for quite awhile, because I need to lose more tonnage but even after that's done, I'll probably try some form of modified version of carnivore and intermittent fasting semi-permanently. In addition to the previously mentioned benefits, I have Fibromyalgia and it's really helping with the overall pain and other symptoms. The only downsides to carnivore that I've found, are getting used to the lack of overall variety in my food and also my grocery budget has gone up because meat is getting really expensive.....Especially beef! Thanks again.👍
I was worried about variety as well. But I went to my local butcher and haven’t had any problem. I highly suggest it because you can get cuts you normally wouldn’t get on grocery store shelves.
Chicken, pork, seafood/fish
I am not sure about your area, but here in Minneapolis area, I can get a whole chicken from Walmart for $1.34/lb. Just cooked one up tonight. I am about 210lb at 6 and a tad height. So weight isn't too big an issue, but I did weight 165lb going into boot, and 180 when I left, and I stayed at 170 till my mid 50s. The my BP went through the roof and I got that extra 40lbs. I do try to eat mostly meat, but cheat, more often than I should. Good fortune to you and don't stop. Ground beef, chicken and pork are cheap. Oh, if you like fish, a good Rapala lure and a cheap setup from Walmart is less than $30. Go fishing my friend!
@@duplicarus I grew up when all of our meat came from the local butcher. However, where I live now, would require a 90 mile round trip to my nearest butcher.😐
@@lesb3481 oh no… that’s definitely not local haha
Hey Larry! So glad you went on a family vacation. We, the people, are happy for you! 🎉
Rough business on the lifestyle break. Isn’t it funny how our bodies adapt to a routine and resist change? Be well!
I only allow myself one cheat meal on vacation and one every couple of months. I really have no desire to cheat anymore. Feeling as good as I feel now is far more important than eating the poison that made me almost 300lbs and pre diabetic. Since January, I am down 71lbs. Love the channel!!
I eat carbs about once every month or two, and no, I'm not cheating with vegetables. When I first cheated, I just gave in and gave up carnivore thinking I didn't have the willpower. Then I started again and cheated again and beat myself up about it. Now, I know that I eat good 99% of the time and my body is healthier now than it's ever been, so it can handle a couple cookies or an iced mocha every couple of months and it's not going to kill me. Just the thought of never eating anything sweet again for the rest of my life was scary and depressing to me, and made me not want to go full carnivore. Knowing that I can eat garbage once in a while really makes this way of eating less stressful to me. If I don't have that option on the back burner, I would never get through most days still having to cook carbs for my family. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. We're not vegans.
@@Jane-yg3vz totally agree. For me it's Mexican restaurants.
What do you mainly eat now on keto?
@@GTIZmoKiDD beef butter bacon eggs and salt
71 pounds since January??? YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! That is truly inspirational. ❤❤❤
Hi there, Mr Wolfe!
I'm back doing carnivore after a hiccup too. It's hard for me to resist fruit in the summer. The cantaloupes from round here are so sweet.
Anyhow, I've been thinking about trying to make more carnivore meals that are some kind of 'recipe.' I enjoy cooking and I miss it.
I know that you can make carnivore bread. I think it's whipped up cooked egg and powdered pork rinds.
I can make a carnivore microwave cheesecake! Mix a very heaped tablespoon of as fatty as possible cream cheese or mascapone. (I can find a brand of mascapone here in France with only 2g carbs per 100g) with an egg and a squeeze each of lemon juice and vanilla.
Add some stevia to taste. Microwave until done.
With some imagination I'm sure you could reverse engineer a key limr cheesecake.
All the best x
Oh, and I found some protein powder made out of beef isolate. It's beef, but flavoured with chocolate and it's still practically 0 carb. I've ordered it and it should be coming on Friday. I'm going to use the chocolate flavoured beef powder to make chocolate cake by mixing it with some egg and butter.
There's ALWAYS a way, Larry.
I wish you all the success in you weight loss goals!!!
I've been on the journey myself. I've been taking ozempic in addition to eating low carb. Lost eighty pounds, with thirty five, or so more to go to reach my doctor's goal.
I don't think Ozempic/Wagovey are worth the possibility of serious damage to the kidneys, gallbladder, or pancreas. Be sure your doctor is closely monitoring your renal function the entire time you are taking Ozempic. There are far safer ways to mange your weight *unless you are taking it for type-2 diabetes.*
Here is something I took from Google with a search of the term "ozempic is dangerous"
"Other serious side effects of Ozempic include thyroid tumors, pancreatitis, changes in vision, hypoglycemia, gallbladder issues, kidney failure and cancer. The most severe complications Shah sees in her patients are pancreatitis and gallbladder issues - either can lead to hospitalization."
Ozempic is amazing isn't it. It even makes you sense your fullness/satiety when eating.
@@magnathomps8311 No, it isn't. It's pharma cr*p.
New studies out on Ozempic. You're playing with some fire there.
“Which made me mad, because they SUCKED!” 🤣💀🤣 how do you mess up nachos..
Wow! I just did almost the same thing. I am not entirely carnivore, but I do mostly stay under 20g of carbs a day and eat a ton of meat and fish. I went to the beach on vacation with my daughter and "took a week off" of my diet ate ate a bunch of friend seafood, etc. Now, I am struggling so hard to get things back on track. Like you, I learned a lot. Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you on your journey!
Just started Carnivore. I've been really good for the first week, but my birthday is coming up on Saturday. I want to be good, but I just know I'll eat something bad. LOL Going to try to minimize it by eating a big ribeye steak before I go visit my friends. Glad to hear you got back on track right away. That was my problem before. I did KETO for about a year and a half and lost 120lbs. Halloween rolled around and I decided it was ok to eat some chocolate. I've always had a sweet tooth the size of Texas and I never stopped eating sweets. I gained 55lbs back in the next year and a half. Tried to start up Keto again, but after 2 weeks I actually gained a couple lbs. That's when I decided to try Carnivore and after 4 days I had already lost 4lbs. I know it's probably mostly water, but I needed that little bit of success to set my mind straight to continuing.
Great to hear about your successes. As someone who’s done keto/carnivore for around four years now, you’ll come to the realization that what you were told was “healthy” is hardly the case.
Just watch the carb/sugar intake. You don’t have to go ultra strict (like I did), but as long as you keep the carb intake to under 20mg a day, you should be fine.
More important is hydration (especially with electrolytes)- you MUST keep hydrated as you’ll start feeling like crap otherwise.
20mg???
@@honkytonk4465 I think 20 grams was the amount meant.
Thanks Larry, glad to hear you're getting better. Always enjoyed your videos
Keep on chowing down on the diet Wolfy! You're doing a great job- We cant wait to hear more of your progress and updates!
Did you know that you can go to a truck stop and get weighed on their truck scales? I used to work in a truck stop years ago and a guy in a wheelchair would come in and buy a scale ticket. Then take it out to the scale master and he would weigh him. He had the same problem of no one having a scale for wheelchairs too.
Wheelchair weight should be in the manufacturers specification.
The scales at truck stop are by 20 pounds increments ...not accurate at all

I have watched lots of carnivore diet videos. But, after watching yours from a few weeks ago, I'm down at least seven pounds. It's not a lot. But, I know how well this works. You were the inspiration I needed and I thank you for that. This video helps in exactly the same way. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing your story.
I could eat a tomato sammich every day
Good high fiber bread, fresh roma tomato, a bit of basil, and some crumbly parmigiano reggiano.
Also a bit of mayo - you only need one slice of bread though. Open face gives a better ratio
Dip your tomatoes in mayo with salt ant pepper. Done!
SAME OMG. I literally am addicted to tomatoes and tomato sandwiches. I used to hate them until I got an actual HOME GROWN big old ripe red mater. I’m just starting my carnivore journey, but I’ve had some tomatoes with some meals because my brother brought some from Amish country lol. But after that’s gone, I’ll be good 😂
Glad to hear you're eating better. I've been eating keto/carnivore for almost three years and I've lost 60-70 lbs. Unfortunately I've cheated a LOT, but I keep trying.
I usually only eat one meal a day.
Whenever I feel hungry I start drinking beer. Eventually I stumble into the kitchen for a can of Spaghettios

That's the Carbohydrate Diet
Cool update. I think i'm about your size as well. 2xl and I weigh about 289lbs. Been on Carnivore for about 14days so far. Lost about 5lbs but I feel really good and have alot of mental clarity. Haven't cheated once in the 2 weeks because I just don't feel like it. I will maybe have a cheat day January 1st 2024 but only if i'm around 200lbs. Looking to lose 90lbs in the next 5 months.
I appreciate the update on the progress and what happened when you went off. That's my biggest concern because I enjoy fruit and vegetables.
I think maybe he'd' have felt a bit better, though, if it wasn't so much fried food, or generally better quality food as it sounds like most was disappointing. Also, restaurant food has a lot of sodium, so that's going to be an issue with bloating and swelling. Not trying to be critical with these comments, Just observational from own concerns. I know if I do it, I'll want to have breaks, but I wouldn't want to undo everything. I may also need to eat cheap for budget reasons and I worry about ending up worse off than when I started if that happens. I will also add that I love a fresh garden tomato sandwich. Only, I eat mine on toast with mayo and lots of pepper and salt.
I certainly don't feel it was a mistake if you learned your lesson. Keep up the good work man.
It was a mistake even if he learned his lesson. he can do better
@philais you do better
Started keto at the end of 2018 after going into diabetic shock weighing 320 pounds. Got down to 160 and put back on 60 pounds once I got off. Back on and currently 185. All that to say, the processes you put in place matter more than the diet you choose. Being consistent will work way more than blast diets. Im happy to hear you getting after it. To anyone that needs to hear this, you can do it, I believe in you!
So, you're saying that you could lose that weight on the SAD as long as you put the right processes in place?
I disagree. The diet is what works but you have to stick to it.
@@losfromla1480 that’s what I was trying to get at. You have be able to do the diet and stay consistent
Thank you for sharing your experience with going off carnivore (so we the ppl don’t have to) I’m sorry that you had to deal with inferior cheat food, especially on vacation! That’s the time to splurge, but going in at least you had a hint of what may happen. Then you got the terrible side effects. At least it did reinforce your liking carnivore more!
That tomato 🍅 sandwich was probably the best & cheapest lunch that did the least harm. It’s sad when you dine out and look forward to scrumptious dinners and u get disappointed. But you made the best of it and got back into it! I hope you enjoyed spending time with your daughter & had a great time, regardless!
I'm still trying! I'm still reducing my carbs slowly, moderating a lot what I used to eat. I never craved sweets like doughnuts, but I do love bread. Today though I had 8 slices of ham, 6 eggs, mozzarella cheese. That was at noon... it's midnight and I'm still not hungry.
It's amazing that wheat and corn are in just about every dish.
I love your honesty and openess. I've been saving carbs when we go out on dates with my wife and I regret it- not the date- but how I feel after. Reflux, gas and headaches. Plus the alcohol drives carb cravings due to the blood sugar swings. I'm backing off even when we go out- you inspired me. Thank you.
Progress, not perfection.
True with food the same as addiction.
I am quitting drinking, had to do a ton of cleaning because we just found out my mom has liver cancer so she needed a clean room and bedding, etc.
I cheated and had some wine (bad) and a couple pieces of bread on my cheeseburgers.
No doubt, alcohol detox will take care of any weight issues and I'll go right back to a diet once I am through sweating the booz out - I have meds for that, no worries.
Keep up the good fight
Man I know that nice feeling when you put on old shirts and they HUGE on you after weight loss. Hoping to experience that again! Glad to hear you're in a healthier place!
That's one of the problems with dieting, if you slide back into the old habits, then the problems just come right back, got to stick to the diet and stay on it, and not let pressure from others take you away from it...
It was very sweet of you to go off your diet for the betterment of your daughter's experience. The upside of you feeling terrible is that you know how to get right back to what works for you. Thanks for sharing.
Nothing sweet about it. You would not congratulate an alcoholic for going off the wagon to celibrate a wedding birthday or such. That would simply be an excuse and that is what Larry did and he paid the price and lost a couple of weeks or more on his road to recovery.
Like Dr. Anthony Chaffe says no cheat days, it upsets your system again and slows down healing and vitality… thanks for sharing!! Glad your back on it👍🙌
Cheat days uggg. Trying to fit in so to speak. Sugar sodas or treats like cake adds a minimum of a pound per day. It’s nuts it’s like my body instantly swells up. Sugar seems to cause a purely inflammatory response. Veggies cause explosive GI issues . Carnivore equals peace
Very interesting video. I like hearing about real experiences, as opposed to other types of videos where people go on and on about what you 'should do'. I did this, and this is what happened. That's what I like to hear/see. Seems like the crab cakes just weren't going to work out for you - sorry to hear that. In Japan, they say "ganbatte". It's kind of like, "Please try hard, and do your best!", but it's also kind of like, "Go kick some ass!". Depends on who you are, where you are, and whom you're talking to. Ganbatte! Everyone's different, and what works for some might not work for others. Good video.
I'm a week into the carnivore diet (your video made me pull the trigger, THANK YOU) and I've already seen a huge difference in how I feel. No farts in days, which is a monumental thing for me. lol First few days of the "keto flu" were TERRIBLE, but I'm good, now! And I found out that I CANNOT drink diet coke. It is very inflammatory to me and makes me feel like SHIT. So, I'm really glad that I tried this. Can't do the liver though, but I'm sure I'll get there. Taking some supplements for now.
You can get liver in pill form if you want 👍🏼
grind the liver up in ground beef and make a patty or just eat crumbled. It helps to hide the taste of the liver. You dont need much liver anyway something like 20g-50g for an adult male thats about 2 ounces a day.
@@kazimirmcfoster5631 thank you! Ill try that. I got some at the butcher today
@@topsykretts7642 Don't cook liver very long it should be tender. if you cook it long it gets like shoe leather and tastes bad as well to me. Medium heat in butter/olive oil and not more than 2 minutes on each side works for me. Depends how thick your slices are. I like mine a little pink in the center. I used to hate liver but now i love it. I hope this helps you.
@@kazimirmcfoster5631 THANKS! I'll give that a go too
Thank you for doing this update!! It is super helpful to know these sorts of things.
I literally watched your two previous carnivore diet videos earlier today lol. Perfect timing 👍👍
I tried the carnivore diet this last week. I only ate meat and eggs what I didn’t realize was that I can’t eat enough meat to be full I just don’t like meat that much and steak is out of the question because I can’t get past the texture. So I added veggies and still haven’t had sugar or carbs and I’m feeling so much better! Thanks for being an inspiration! I’m gonna continue with this and see how it goes. According to the scale I’ve lost about 9 lbs in just under 2 weeks :)
Heck, just cutting out sugar will bring you a ton of benefits, so you're on the right track.
Most vegetables turn to sugar or carbs.
Hope you feel better/healthier after losing the extra weight. Your Audience is here to support you, brother.
I've been doing it for a while, we went on vacation , I went non-carnivore for a couple of days as well. I found that I feel nauseated after I eat sugar and grain products, but potato bread seems to be easier to digest.
I eat lots of vegetables, so I'm really doing the first week of the south beach diet forever 😅
And my tastes have changed. My old standbys don't taste the same, even when I'm the one cooking. I did go ahead and make sugar-free, no crust cheesecake and that was pretty good, but it still wasn't that great, despite it being the same recipe I've always used.
Thanks for uploading this. It's not always easy to eat this way.
Keep up the good work with the diet!
In the description box you discuss Joe Rogan's carnivore diet; he also supplements with vitamins and minerals, etc.
I tried the Stillman diet once. I couldn't do it. It's all protein - eggs, very lean meat, fish, chicken, cottage cheese and that's about it. I'm doing carnivore now. I don't have too much to lose but I want to catch it early.
70% fat 30%protein
It is so true that even after one treat day (as i call it) in month makes me feel like hangover the next day. And in that kind of day i go some restaurant that i know that they serve very good tasting food so i won´t be disapointed to drop out of ketosis for a while. At the same day i usually go out with my friends and consume some alcohol, but i try to consume something like vodka with mineral water so it doesn´t have carbs. I also could eat like kebab with salad and there would not be much of carbs, but some times i just like to go chinese buffet or good pizza place and eat good pizza.
The day after eating carbs i have those same joint pains what i don´t have in keto diet. I also have headache and feel awfull overall. I also get some gas problems and have to fart alot. I rearly fart when i´m on ketosis. I might have dhiarrea too. All those things just remind my that why it is better to stay in ketosis and keep this lifestyle up.
Great video! You've stumbled upon the single biggest threat to health and happiness that a person will usually face- trying to make other people happy. I'm sure your daughter is a wonderful person but she's probably healthy and doesn't understand that food is medicine for you. Would a person say, "please don't bring your CPAP/insulin/heart-meds along this time, I want to have fun!"? No, no one that loves you would suggest that, yet nagging you to eat the toxic SAD (standard American diet) is every bit as bad. At least you learned a lesson that you couldn't have learned any other way! That is that the diet most Americans eat is terrible for their health. It's hard enough to make positive changes in your life even with supportive friends and family, and much harder yet when no one is on your team with you.
I call it 'getting your mind right'. I've been a saint on sticking to a proper human diet, but eating too late in the day is my demon. It gives me crappy sleep and makes my leg swell up. I had to persistently remind myself that I never regret good sleep, and I strongly dislike the leg swelling. It took plenty of mental effort, but now 'having my mind right' is just 'what I do'. Make it 'your thing', Larry, by being honest with yourself, and you'll do fine.
Glad to hear the diet is working out for you. I’ve been doing animal based for a while and removed most of the basic carbs and sugars and bad oils from my diet and have lost a good bit of weight. You should include berries, dairy, and honey as well.
yep, as long as i stay mainly carnivore, intermittent fast and leave out the rice/potato/bread/etc, it seems i can eat all sorts of extras like you suggest with no problem.
I do not agree especially when starting out like Larry is. Strict elimination and then add after goals have been met. Carbs and plants are the issue. Eliminate them, get well and stay well. You do NOT need berries, deiry and honey. Period
@@philais how do you know what other people need?🤡🤡

I’m 46 years old…
60 days carnivore… I went from size shirt XL to XS… I’m also hitting the gym like I did when I was 20… hard… I feel fantastic 😍
I think these "check-in" days/meals are a great maintenance thing to do. Sometimes you need a reminder of why you changed your diet to begin with.
I kind of disagree with you that it was a mistake.... it did quite clearly prove in no uncertain terms that the carnivore diet is what your body wants right now. My brother in-law and his wife have gone vegan for similar reasons because they both gained weight doing keto, so every body is different and sometimes what works changes over time so it's really good to go off your diet for a week to see what happens. Best of luck with keeping your body has happy as it can be so you can be as happy as you can be.
Larry knew what would happen and lost several weeks in his recovery. Lesson learned hopefully. Smokers and Alcoholic fall off the wagon. This is why I watch a Carnivore/Ketovore youtube daily......to keep me focused
@@philais Sometimes you need a reminder. Again, progress - not perfection. It won't be a lifestyle choice if its so rigid you obsess over what you cant have, it wont be a lifestyle change if you forget what it feels like to have the things that once made you feel change was necessary. It should never be the sort of thing you grow to resent.
You make enough progress to see the difference in how you feel and or look, then you can have cheat days now and again; you pay attention to how your body reacts and learn your limits. No matter what diet, nothing is worth missing out on time with loved ones - make exceptions for weddings, make exceptions for graduations, find a balance, but get right back to what works for you once that moment passes.
I agree with your experience. This happened to me too on my vacation. I got bloated and pooped alot also. It was some time before I felt better after going back to carnivore.
As far as cheating goes, I am strict during the work week and cheat on the weekends but not alot. I'll occasionally drink a soda or eat a full cheeseburger with bun and all or do the pizza. But yeah when I eat foods that are not meat it feels like I'm eating fillers and not actual food. Poop is waste and meat produces less waste while everything else is waste. Feels like I'm eating poop that tastes like food
Thank you for your honesty.
I have been carnivore for the last month.
I really miss my favorite deep dish pizza.
I wont eat it because i know how sick it will make me.
But i still miss it.
I was debating eating it and assuming the consequence.
But thanks to you, i know exactly how i will feel and why i dont do it.
I will keep going strong.
Check out the channel Chris Cooking Nashville. He recently found a way to make a truly carnivore pizza. I haven’t made it yet, but it looks amazing and i definitely plan to soon. He has tons of unique carnivore recipes. I prefer the simple way of eating without having to make large recipes, but for a special treat that’s still carnivore I’m definitely trying some of his recipes out.
@@1Lovelife11 thanks! I will look it up! But i will still "suffer" with just eating meat for now. My old eating havits are not conquered yet. And i cant go around eating "nornal" food as carnivore. Because my old ha it will come back. But as said, i will go and try it out somedat. When i master my emotions on food.
I've always used food as a way to reward myself. It was also my go to when i felt emotional distress.
So what is hapoening now is my old self battling with the new.
I received good news today so i was happy and wanted to celebrate.
I almost called for a pan pizza today too. Lol
But i made some steak instead.
I need to find something else to reward myself.
Thank you for your suggestion! :)
Buy one for someone else, and just take one really good bite. You won't get sick and if you do, you can still feel good about sharing with someone
You are a stronger man than me. I can't cheat. As soon as i have anything with carbs in it, my old cravings come flooding in like a hurricane.
I was doing very well on the carnivore diet and then my mom wanted Chinese food for mother's day. So i took her to a nice Chinese restaurant. Even just trying to stick to meat only dishes, as soon as i had a piece of breaded lemon chicken, that was it. I ended up off the diet and eating milk shakes and snickers bars for a couple months. Gained 40 pounds too.
Carb addiction is very real.
Addiction to carbs is about overpopulation of candida albican in your guts
im glad to hear you are doing well with your health, Take care of yourself because WE-the people need you.
I'm going to have to look in to this Carnivore diet. Thanks for that. I put your videos on sometimes when I'm working on music for my next album, for some reason your voice centers me and helps me concentrate. That may sound weird. Thanks for all the videos you do. I really appreciate the effort. Feel free to use any of my music if you like any of it.
My son was on the carnivore diet for about 6 weeks. His gums started getting inflamed and he had to stop it.
whatever. He still needs to brush and floss

Multiple-day travel has always been difficult for me. Our last vacation, we packed cheese, a standing rib roast, bacon, and eggs. We're not OMAD. I'm TMAD and spouse is 3MAD. We grocery shopped while we were at the beach. We also limited ourselves to one-meal-per-day at restaurants. It involved some careful selections from the menus, but we came out of it only a few pounds heavier (water weight). Gone are the days of large pizzas and pitchers of beer... too many carbs and too many bad reactions.
Glad you came through OK. Good luck on your journey.
A diet was never a thought until I got old. Started gluten free and sugar free, then Dr. moved me to the DASH diet, now I'm on oxalate free. I thought older would be fun...I was wrong.
go hunt your own prey and then cook it and eat it. That is fun! Or similarly, toil in the soil for months and grow your own chosen veggies that you can eat.

I'm liking this content and Congrats! I've been carnivore since 1/19 & weighed 277. I'm down to 230 and that includes a vacation where I didn't eat great. Fried fish w/ breading etc. Now I didn't fall off the wagon and eat a lot of bread but I didn't lose or gain weight for 2 weeks because of it. Now I'm what they would say is a ketovore. I've added in things like salsa with my eggs & bacon. Nothing crazy. I eat a serving of peanuts with every meal as it makes my poo situation better. No more hard lumpy poos and 1 time a day.
seafood not fried tastes so much better. I eat mostly broiled seafood, steamed seafood, or grilled seafood. It is a rare thing that I eat fried seafood for every purchased meal.
fried feels like a waste honestly
Been carnivore for 18 months now after I hit 301 lbs. Now granted I'm 6'3 and fairly muscular, but that was a lot of fat. I'm down 55 lbs, bleeding gums since I was a teen, planar faceitis that caused me to start limping in the last year, the excessive farting, the acid reflux nightly that would even choke me out in my sleep, all of it gone. Waist size went from a 44 to a 38. I'll never go back.
I find that I can once every couple of months eat a carb diet, but only for a single meal. And that will still make my bowels disagree, but it's only for the next day.

When I got off it I wanted the biggest delight I could imagine, and ordered KFC. I figured it's pretty fatty so it should be fine.
Cue 3 days of hardcore fever, wife almost called an ambulance it was so high. You really need to wean off it, not do what I did. Holy shit I shudder to remember that.

@@kenharber3676 Yeah tbh I kinda deserved it for eating that trash.
My bro I have cheated and after I did two donuts from krispie kream I felt so terrible. That feeling followed me for about two and half days… I can relate. The donuts were the worst. I think white flour and white sugar and all these deep fried things and bad food combinations are the cause to all my issues. I find that if I just eat as clean as possible with grass fed and high quality meats I feel better all the itching and pain lessens etc. I just find carnivore makes me a little more constipated than usual so I have been flirting with some fruit like apples a bit. Too much fat doesn’t feel so good to me. I actually feel kinda dirty for some reason. I can still eat it but my brain says it’s making me dirty. I actually found that doing a dry fast actually makes me feel the best. I try to do those every once in while if I have that chance. God bless no stress. Thank you for your time

I want to start keto again, I loved being on carnivore but I can't afford it at this time.
Edit: I used to do a cheat day every other week but didn't like feeling like crap the next day or so, kind of like a food hangover
ground beef, beef liver, canned sardines, canned tuna, eggs, and butter. None of them have to be grass fed and finished sure they would be better but who can afford that stuff. I just started the carnivore diet and that's what i'm eating.
Shop at Aldi. Bring a quarter for the shopping cart. Buy ribeye or chuck steak. If you only eat meat it’s $200 a month. That cheaper than almost any weekly grocery shopping. When you feel like cheating eat one piece of cold bacon from the fridge or put a pinch of salt under your tongue. Stops cravings
@@GreyGhost-r4zare you really going to live on 15-20 pounds of ribeye for the entire month.. you realize there's only 1,300 calories per pound right? You're supposed to eat more than that...

The bloating is from the carbs (bread), if you suddenly go back to eating it, it will mess up your digestive system, also onions, coleslaw will also mess you up, eating kale and seafood is fine I even it it, but I know the other stuff was tempting but I don't think I could stomach that for a week tbh
Flush and detox your system, even if you have to drink water for a couple of days and have light foods, when I eat foods with sugar I also detox because that takes a long time to leave my body
That doesn't even look close to a 42" pizza

I find it interesting how unhealthy food is in the US. Everything was deep fried or in batter (breading), hardly any vegetables, loads of fast food etc… Good job you found a diet that suits you (carnivore). I did the same diet for 2 months last year and also lost a lot of weight. Now I tend to eat mainly low carb (about 1,5g-2g protein per KG bodyweight) in a calorie deficit with sports, eating vegetables with every meal and drinking mainly water (maybe 1 liter of Diet Coke/ 32 fl. ounces a week) and that’s how I feel good right now. Keep it going!!
most of our food is highly processed garbage and it's easily accessible on purpose, im concerned with his health due to the inherent lack of certain vitamins and minerals
If you want to ease off, the carnivore is very similar to Atkins phase 1. Over time he eases some carbs back in and legumes in three more phases. You might take a look. I used to keep weight off by running but I've had to back off now to walking. I'm doing this diet now but not for much longer.
I really enjoy your upbeat commentaries, as I have watched two of your videos thus far! Way to keep it going!!!
Not ragging on you Wolfpit just pointing something I learned on a lectin free diet.
Every diet has its pros and it's cons; mind you that you might be unintentionally starving or ignoring some of the vitamins your body needs from different types of foods. For instance I was on a Lectin free diet and began to get jaundice. It turned out that the Lectin free diet was iron deficient and my multivitamin was only adding 15% of the daily🃏✌️
I’m goin on the carnivore diet soon, can’t wait for the change in my life. Hopefully my health gets better
