    Great video but please do more tests at 11 mm with your Tokina. I had K&F 2-32 vnd in the past but it vignette too much at 11mm ( 17mm equivalent) on my Fujifilm camera. Please !!

    Great video question I just got one of these filters & I was filming a. Scene people coming out a building a door so set my aperture iso etc, then they would walk out the door & walk into the sunlight but it was too bright, how would I get it so when I get people coming out door with darker background & walk into sunlight what’s good settings for that? A good exposure

    Hi, thanks for a great review. Are there threads on the outside too so you can add other filters on top of it? Also, if there are threads, are they the same size as the ND-filter? Thanks in advance.

    Mine doesn’t have the big orange tab thing but it comes very well packaged and yes it works but I only took a few shots from my deck I’ll need to put it to work soon

      There are two different versions of this filter. One is like $30 and doesn’t have the orange tab the other is the Nano XP, about $100 and has the tab. Differences seem to be just the tab and the coatings used and the included density scale. Haven’t tried the more expensive version because I have too many vnd’s laying around and didn’t feel like paying more for what I’ve largely found to be a similar result at the end of the day. You’re good!

    Good video. I bought this filter but found that the x pattern appears right at the ND 400 mark on the filter so I can't shoot at 1/50th at f1.8. I guess I need to move up to the ND8-2000 option that K&F offers.

    • @nightdonutstudio
      @nightdonutstudio 2 года назад +3

      what.. why need that strong ND for f1.8 lens. I usually can cover the brightest day for f4 lens at ND32/5 stops. I only need ND128/7stops to cover f1.8 lens at sunny day.

    • @Farawaynow
      @Farawaynow 2 года назад

      @@nightdonutstudio at 24fps & 1/50 shutter speed to maintain natural motion blur it is blown out. If you don’t care about shutter speed it is not a concern

    • @Luggruff
      @Luggruff 2 года назад

      Did you get it? I got the 8-2000 one, and at 2000 it is actually more like 64, according to the calculator apps I found. So while 1/50, f11 at ISO 100 should become 40 sec, f11 at ISO 100, in reality, the max shutter speed I can go to is 1"3.. pretty severely faster than what it should be to match the exposure....
      If you got it, did you experience this too?

    • @Farawaynow
      @Farawaynow 2 года назад +2

      @@Luggruff I got the 2-400 and returned it and go the 8-2000. This allows to get good exposure at f1.8 in bright conditions @ 1/50.

    Great review, but what a shame the filter is only available in such a limited range of sizes - us micro four thirds users are pretty much completely excluded

    • @BarbsterFilms
      @BarbsterFilms  3 года назад

      I have seen that they offer more sizes on Amazon than their website (which is strange) but on Amazon you can also get 49/52/55/58mm as well which I only realised after I uploaded the video other wise I would have mentioned it!! The link is in the description, Hope that helps :)

    • @DJColinCook
      @DJColinCook 3 года назад

      @@BarbsterFilms Yes I did notice that, but no 46mm which is more than half of my lenses and the set for which I am needing a VND. I dont want to use step up rings as all of the lenses are 46mm so looks like it will be another Gobe (Urth) filter.

    I own this filter, it looks and feels great but it has an ugly color cast i can not stand. Your picture wont look like it really is with this filter.
