    So often using the old ways becomes habit, wasting time and energy, these tips honestly have been an incredible eye opener, and are very appreciated. Thank you for making the instruction so easy to understand, and meaningful. I am looking forward to some time off, where I can purchase a course or two and finding out what new things I've missed. Thank you again.

    wonderful and timely. The find/replace does change ALL 6/ to 7/ so at 8:15 of video the date 6/6/2020 becomes 7/7/2020 (row 33 of data). So any interation of 6/ (i.e. 16/, 26/ 36, etc.. will change). Still this is just wonderful. Thank you.

    I just finished writing on another channel that they had the easiest solution for this problem...but I think you do! We have a timesheet workbook for each employee with a tab for each 2 week pay period. Each tab list what they did, where they did it, how long it took to do it, and the date they did it. This all gets entered into another spreadsheet but we add it manually, one sheet at a time. This reduces that to one entry per person per year from 24 entries per person per year.

      You can use Power Query from Excel 2016 onwards. You will have to use a workaround to load the data to a Pivot Table though. So, I recommend at least Office 2019 or ideally 365 for the latest features.

    You are always my first goto when I need to know how to do something, or do something better, in Excel. Just as an FYI, when you did the replace on 6/, you also changed 6/6/2020, 6/16/2020, and similar numbers to 7/7/2020 and 7/17/2020. I know it was for testing purposes, but how would you prevent that from happening? I know how to do it in other contexts with regular expressions, but not in Excel.

    • @LeilaGharani
      @LeilaGharani  Год назад +1

      Thanks! True. It would have been a problem even with training data had I changed 9 to 10. If I wanted to use search and replace I'd probably a) replace /2020 with $2020 b) Replace 6/ with 7/ c) Replace $ with /
