Hi Amanda: Your story reminded me of a little hike I took with a friend on the edge of Coney Island Creek, in NYC. We were excitedly finding wild-growing herbs, until we very suddenly realized we were on the verge of a camp. We didn't see anyone; we were actually on city park land, but there was a clearing with a hut buried deep, and fishing lines extended over the banks of the creek. Suddenly I felt my heart beating -- not from fear, but from the very natural sense that we were intruding on someone else's camp. And this was in a heavily settled area! We swung wide away and made our way back to the area where we began. To say that: that person you encountered was probably missing a necessary sensibility, and brava to you both for working it through. I was especially glad to hear that you did not leave.
Wow. (I'm not alone in Wows, I see).... so much amazing you've shared in this one. Really noticing the music, and how you dovetail drone footage with music into natural sounds. You take us in close, and let us see the views from far away. You asked an amazing question, too... 5 days of meh, or 3 days of amazing (50 years / 30 years) - I can unpack that in several ways. Yes, I'd love the amazing, and that's the goal. But I also feel there's a way to have amazing within the ordinary, if I remember to look. So maybe the trick is remembering to look, too? Finally, I'm so glad you shared the tale of the unusual interaction with the German fellow. While I have a minute's worth of experience overnighting in my van outside of paid-for camp spots, it's still really new to me. I like being reminded of the simple etiquette. But more important for me, is learning that sometimes it can be helpful to do the hard thing of conversation and de-escalation on that edge of discomfort to get to a better result. I'm glad that worked out! Love the jumper and the purple potatoes too!!!
Thank you ☺️ and I totally agree with remembering to look and appreciate the ordinary. No amount of time can ever be guaranteed which is why it’s so important to do both, create the amazing and enjoy the ordinary.
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to check out your channel. I have to say I am loving the new editing style you are doing. Opening by setting the scene with gorgeous drone shots set to inspirational music is so very effective. I’ve always loved the direct and honest way you communicate with your audience and am glad to see a harmonious balance between the two. Also I find watching you cook and talk about food very interesting. I love that you keep it simple - not just in cooking but in living. ☮️
You’re so brave being out there exploring in your own! I spent a year doing the same in my early 20’s with a friend, but it’s nice to be on your own so you can do what you want to. You always have the prettiest scenery. Love your hair!
I like this question. This is a really good question. I honestly think it’s possible to do both. 30 years balls to the wall awesome fun and then 30 years of “what’s in the refrigerator?”
57 years doing what I had to do, now 64 and doing what I want to do. Have Solo Traveled many places. Many modes, I wouldn't trade it for the first 57 again. I so appreciate your content. Thank you.
What a great question! If you had asked me that question 30 years ago I would have had a completely different answer. Now that I’m 65 years old my perspective has changed. Looking in the face of ones own mortality will definitely change their perspective. I still long for big adventures, but I’m also extremely content being alone and quiet inside the confines of my RV home.
I planted sagebrush in my Native California garden just for the smell, and maybe a little for the color and texture. But I love rubbing my hands through it and smelling them.
I left home at 15 yrs. old and always said, I am not going to live until I am 16 yrs. , I obviously kept moving up the date. I am now retired and don't care, It started off bad but, I ended up good. It's a rollercoaster life but when looking back now, worth it, :)
Hello Amanda , I just wanted to say that I agree 100% on everything you said at the end of your video I’m so proud of you that you took a stand for yourself as a woman. I don’t understand this world anymore. It just seems that people are just so rude in general. It’s all me me me and they don’t care about anyone else. I know there’s still some good people out there and I hope that both you and I come across them in our travels, wishing you and Frank the best💜💜
Amanda, I loved your opening sequence with video and music. Being excellent! Frank with your workout, well, maybe renamed Frank-workout dog. LOL Sorry you had to deal with that Askhole jerk. You strength is shown by your actions and your ability to deflect stupidity with wit. You are stronger than the other people who may not have your expertise but have given your stories and experiences freely! Bless you.🎉❤😅
Another great vlog! The music is so good but even better was Franks's happiness while you were excersizng! Stretch, dog kiss, stretch, dog kiss - he was so cute! Also - that situation with the other person would have me feeling the same 100%. So proud of you for addressing it and resolving it. I definitely would have felt threatened too.
I just returned from a 4 month Solo Van Nomad trip ..Alaska and Northern British Columbia…I love BC and plan to return next Spring..My Winter months will be spent in the American Southwest following my stint in the NW pacific coast. Nice videography.
I love the Rings of Power series!! Excellent job standing up for yourself. That's one thing that goes right up my you know what, someone encroaching on my camp. I post a sign or two down the road at the nearest turnaround that says, "Campsite Occupied. Please Respect Our Privacy," even though it's only me. I try to create the illusion that there are more than one person in camp. I even have one, for my two-week trip at base camp, that says family reunion lol😊
Been offline for some time but happy to be back and see you Amanda .. you looking fantastic! Great video as always.. love the new look your hair is just beautiful
WELCOME BACK GIRL! I, for one have MISSED YOU N FRANK. Im 100% with you on taking Whatever time you need to stay centered or grounded But i Do miss you n your videos in those off times. WONDERFUL,Gorgeous Wilderness n you n Frank! LOVE YOU N FRANK.
Absolutely quality over quantity…every time!! Beautiful intro, music, and drone work. ❤️ flossy picked out a wonderful top for you. You look great in it.
Gosh it’s good to have you and Frank back :) another cool video, the drone footage of gorgeous Canada 🇨🇦😍 , great music and I now want pan fried potatoes but is breakfast here in Australia and I ran out of gas so I’m boiling eggs in my airfryer but I’d rather vanlife than be in a house everyday even the worst. Quality over quantity every time. My dad has dementia and I cared for him for 4 years prior to him going into a care home and the start of my vanlife. I never want to end up in a care home ever, and plan to live out my days traveling in my van. It wasn’t seeing my dad in care, but rather I’ve felt this way since I can remember. My dad is non-verbal, can’t walk and has to drink his food - imo that’s not quality of life. Once I lose the ability to look after myself I don’t want to be here. I’m glad you brought up the topic of death because it seems to be such a taboo topic and I hope euthanasia was an option.
I loved this vlog so much. I have heard lately how much Kampoops and area have changed glad you and Frank are safe. Love your joy over the purple potatoes and a simple meal. I will always follow where you go. Stay safe.
Amanda, thank you for asking this question. I look at life so differently being 60 than I did in my 20’ or 30’s. Of course hind sight is 20/20. I live now in the present and know myself better now and my life is mine to live and I will live it to the fullest. One shot at this life live it.
I mean in reality he can park where he wants its not down to others to make you comfortable, now I personally always park away from others because I'm aware of that but some are not and don't need to be its nature not anyone's personal backyard, no need to ask for permission ppl think in different ways and there should be no expectation that they will follow the rules you have.
Hi Amanda and Frank. That would be a red flag to me too. I don’t understand people doing what they don’t want done to them. Blocking the entrance was very threatening and just completely wrong. He was trying to intimidate you to leave. I’m glad you stood your ground. Luckily you were able to handle the situation without incident. I’m sorry it happened. You have a good sense of going with your instincts. I loved seeing Frank help you with your workout. What an excellent coach. I wish I could give him a big hug in person. I’m always wishing Frank a good day when I see his sticker I got because it’s on my navigation screen in my van. That was an amazing camp area. Drone shots were awesome, as always. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Cute jumper! Before I forget to mention it, there’s a real hobbit hole in Bremerton at Brothers Greenhouses. If you take the coast south you might not go through there though.
Wonderful intro. What difference in scenery from where your parked and the valley with the stream. Like your new jumpsuit. It looks really good on you. Dinner sounds really good. So happy you're ok and safe. 😊
Hey Amanda, that’s a beautiful spot you guys were at and what happened at the end with that guy showing up and invading your space that’s scary and yes you were there first there’s plenty of other spaces for him to go and then blocking you and all those things you said, I agree with absolutely I’m happy that he calmed down and realize hopefully that he was wrong and he moved on but I would’ve been so scared and terrified. I’m glad you’re OK and everything worked out and the Mom in me says be safe and stay warm 🇺🇸♥️🙏👍🏔️🚐🇨🇦
You’re brave Amanda! I would have been afraid to confront the guy. Maybe because down here in the states, many carry weapons. Thanks for sharing this. Sending love, 🐾🐾💚
Holy cow I’m 62 making videos for my community and I’m not putting a time limit on myself. I’m just living my best life every day. Sometimes I include some aches and pains. That’s all right. I sure hope you are OK. I really enjoy your videos.
I really like your camper colour theme and think its great. Sorry to hear you had that encounter, which too me is not a normal thing for another camper to do. Glad he left and nothing happened and you got to enjoy a great show. Someday I would like to camp at your location, it looks pretty. Thanks for the story.
Life isnt just a wonderful experience your whole life. If you're never challenged your growth is stunted. Having slack boring days gives you the reason to enjoy the great moments you seem to be seeking.
It’s been a long time since I’ve watched your channel… Maybe years I don’t recall. Yesterday I was going through stickers to put on my 2025 daily planner. I came across my favorite one of Frank by flowers. I was surprised to see Frank aging and moving a little slower, just like me.❤ I think you handled the camp intrusion pretty well. It sounds like you two came to a meeting of the mines and he moved on. That is the sort of thing that most people are concerned about I think. It sounds as if he was on the road for a long time and maybe, lost social skills… Or possibly never had them. Either way it’s appreciated knowing everything Isn’t rosy all the time on the road. Your potato meal looked amazing! Tip, take the heel of your hand and whack it hard on your garlic clove to loosen the peel from the clove easily.
I live very near to where you were staying. I'm sorry you had that bad experience. It really is a beautiful area, very different from the rockies. Safe travels
Hi, Amanda, love your channel and of course precious Frank. I also watch a channel featuring an American who has moved to Germany. She said that one of the hardest things she had to get used to was the way that total strangers, Germans, would come up to her and bluntly state their opinions about everything from the way she was dressed to how she was living her life. All that to say, I'm thinking, and hoping, that that guy respected you more because of the way you spoke to him, directly and honestly. But, still a scary situation! Please be safe out there!!
Loved this! I would go the 70 route. I've already been living that life lately. I have my moments I wish to be more adventurous, do something more fun. For the most part I'm content. I'm am trying to move forward in my life, Lord willing, I'm 60. I love the adventure life if I could live it as I did some years back. Life in USA presently , I'm living it one day at a time. You have your van looking so comfy cozy. I'm currently living somewhere I can't make the room my own, so I'm looking forward to having a place to call home and make it my own. I don't need anything larger than a room size. That right now is my adventure.

We swung wide away and made our way back to the area where we began. To say that: that person you encountered was probably missing a necessary sensibility, and brava to you both for working it through. I was especially glad to hear that you did not leave.
Just found your channel. Gotout sent me here!
I absolutely love the contrasting colours (purple/olive) of your bus ❤
My favorite part is your laughter throughout because I know you've worked so hard to get here..
🙏🏼
I love you guys (Frank!) sharing your lives and travels.
I think I saw your van a while ago! Now I have found your vlog, yay!
Cool! And welcome 🤗
I left home at 15 yrs. old and always said, I am not going to live until I am 16 yrs. , I obviously kept moving up the date. I am now retired and don't care, It started off bad but, I ended up good. It's a rollercoaster life but when looking back now, worth it, :)
Love the scenery. Enjoy your cooking. Grateful re: a good resolution worked out of a probematic situation. Good job.
I loved this vid. Scary times will happen. Glad you handled it in a calm but firm manner. Hugs to Frank. You are awesome!
Amanda, I loved your opening sequence with video and music. Being excellent! Frank with your workout, well, maybe renamed Frank-workout dog. LOL
Sorry you had to deal with that Askhole jerk. You strength is shown by your actions and your ability to deflect stupidity with wit. You are stronger than the other people who may not have your expertise but have given your stories and experiences freely! Bless you.🎉❤😅
More like Frank-workout-interrupter dog 😂
I vote for 3 spectacular days. That is why I love travel so much. Good question.
Thanks Amanda,Love watching you and Frank and yes keep safe on your beautiful journey ❤❤❤🫖
You look great, keep up those workouts I can tell it’s brightened your shen. Glad you spoke up to the intruder. Good job!
What a beautiful intro. ❤
Never met you, but you have a place in my heart, along with Frank and Flossy. ♥♥♥
Love how upped your game in the audio and music! 😍
Absolutely quality over quantity…every time!! Beautiful intro, music, and drone work. ❤️ flossy picked out a wonderful top for you. You look great in it.
Surpassing your stellar film making!!! Spectacular!!!!!!!
Those purple potatoes looks good🥔
I loved this vlog so much. I have heard lately how much Kampoops and area have changed glad you and Frank are safe. Love your joy over the purple potatoes and a simple meal. I will always follow where you go. Stay safe.
Unfortunately a lot of BC has changed in recent years, and not for the better 🥺
Sad...@@tidelinetoalpine
Oh my gosh! Loved your amazing audio intro! Good to see you love. Hi Frank ❤
Amanda, thank you for asking this question. I look at life so differently being 60 than I did in my 20’ or 30’s. Of course hind sight is 20/20. I live now in the present and know myself better now and my life is mine to live and I will live it to the fullest. One shot at this life live it.
Excellent introduction!!!!!
Your hair looks great Amanda ❤❤❤
Beautiful video. Filming, editing, music and camera framing along with the drone. Beautiful.
I love how much you enjoy your food❤
Love the music at the intro and all the shots!! Frank giving you kisses as you exercise omg 💕😭
A wonderful😊 trip. Hey Frank
You creat beautiful hiking videos and I so respect how you enjoy your life and let Frank enjoy his. Thank you and stay safe.
Scenery is gorgeous, I also love the close ups of the plants and flowers, they are different than here in Pennsylvania ❣️
HUGS FRANK! 🐕❤️💋
“Sailing Paraly” ends his videos with, “don’t live your live regretting the things you did do, over regretting the things you didn’t do.”
Oooh I like that.
@4:33-4:34 left hillside... looks like a black bear right in front of the tree.😮 maybe 2-3 of them.
Had I known you'd use a whole bulb of garlic for one meal I would have given you way more. 😂
Omg Amanda!! Everything was soooooo beautiful! I wanted to be there huddled down on the green grass between the trees. Fantastic place to be.
I was sent over from Got Out. 😊💖
Mission accomplished Flossie! Amanda imagines a Hobbit Hole in her future...
Hi Amanda. Your new jumper is cute! Looks good on you. So sorry you had to have a heated conversation with that man. Very happy you both were able to talk it through and he left. Take care! 🙏❤️
