This just shows how intelligent elephants are. She’s not acting aggressively towards the humans, because she knows they aren’t doing anything wrong or trying to harm her baby. She’s completely aware that its her baby just being a baby, and is therefore just trying to correct its behavior.
So many parents can learn from this😏

I do not know why people must always project their own feelings or perceptions into others, worse, here of an animal.
Its more like its making sure the car stays where it is, and the trunk moves in line with the elephants thoughts.
Notice the second elephant serving as a rear guard action, walking backwards to shield the baby while keeping an eye on the humans.
Yeah, that was probably a sister or an adult daughter of the mother, as those commonly help as babysitters. I would've suggested the mother's own mother or aunt as well, but I can't tell if she looks the right age.

I’ve had the privilege of elephant encounters in Africa. They are the most humbling experiences ever! When an elephant can easily topple the vehicle over but did not these creatures became easily my favorite with much love and respect. Magical moments always in my heart. ❤🐘❤️

"It is important that they stay still" literally one second later shows a man getting the best shot possible for social media.
That meant "no screaming, no waving, no tapping on the car" etc. Slow movements are allowed, and they are used to cameras.
Also, many people won't be able to see this by themselves. It's nice that people spread this view to everybody. I wish I could go there and do a safari one day, but as a minimum wage worker, I highly doubt I'll ever be able to afford it. So thanks to the people who allows me to live this through a screen. (with no VR or AI... just a lens and a microphone. This said, that music spoils the moment...)

I love how the other elephants started to protectively pile around just in case something kicked off. That last.one backing up while still watching the bus was the one who will give you that work.❤

Yes; the temptation to pat the calf on the head must have been strong, but mama definitely would not have liked that. When tourists go to observe wild mountain gorillas the same rule applies; even if curious young gorillas come right up to them and touch them, they must never touch them back.

I love that at some point the baby’s mom goes to get her mother because she needs backup. That’s when you see the other adults standing in front of the vehicle to monitor the situation. We’ve all heard that conversation before.
“Mom! Help! He won’t listen and there’s people here…!”

I personally experienced it from a BULL MALE ele at Knysna Elephant Park...
I had some peanuts in my pocket and he put his trunk around my middle and pulled me closer (the Xhosa Safari Guard immediately reacted and pulled it back...
I will never forget the experience... The absolute strength...and it was done in a quiet mild manner... Imagine an angry situation... Would be terrifying...

I once had an encounter with an elephant and its baby in a forest in Germany. They were very friendly and didn’t harm me, just respectful and polite!

That little cute, inquisitive little bad baby don’t listen worth a damn🤣 but thank goodness that the mother Elephant was finally able to get her/him away because it could have been so much more dangerous for the humans had she not. You can just tell by how the other Elephants were backing away but still facing the humans. Whew!🤦🏼♂️

Watching the way these elephants behave, it's very clear that they know not all humans are kind, but it's also quite obvious that they are aware some humans are helpful or just want to see things and have nothing to do with what this baby is doing, I'm willing to bet a lot of money those elephants were ready to roll that jeep if they felt it was necessary, but the phone moving around recording things is probably something they've seen a thousand times so they felt no threat from it
This mom is much more responsible and respectful compared to some human mom's..
And some human mothers are much more responsible and respectful compared to some elephant mothers.

idk ive never seen elephant mothers feed their children unhealthy junk nor use them as views for Tiktok, nor be abusive to them in a daily basis. In fact they're seen killed more than doing those.

I like how the other elephants felt strange and surrounded the baby elephant to protect them. After the baby elephant left, the other big elephants walked back warily to protect the baby elephant. Elephants are one of the species I love because of their honesty and family affection
what a extraordinary experience it must be to be that close to a herd of elephants! i wish to see some of the African wild animals without bothering any local wildlife or people who live there! i wish traveling from continent to continent wasn’t so taxing on the environment and my wallet! maybe one day i’ll get to do something like this myself! i hope!!!

this elephant baby is the perfect example of a privileged child. growing up knowing nothing can/will ever harm you as you have the best back-up in the world. mum is watching over you and nobody messes with mum. you are free to explore whatever and whoever you want.
