I really like your educational content with all these different coaches! Your structure and your questions are great and cover all important stuff (When, where how etc...) I think i watch your content since the technique training with Be and i am really exited if i see you released another educational video. :)
One other aspect of campusing that often gets ignored is that it really trains hand accuracy. If you’re campusing to a really dicey hold, you have to absolutely nail the hand placement. Useful when normal climbing to waste less energy in repositioning hands.
I realized that the thingy of twisting your lower body to prevent excessive swing (what Stian showed) was something I intuitively did. If you got really big campus moves in the roof I sometimes tend to meat hook myself (you get a better and more stable/controlled reach too). 🧚♀
Ooo I'm so excited for this! I've been thinking about taking up more training on the side, and campusing has always scared me so this video came at the perfect time! Also the climbing bible is simply amazing 🥰
Hannah is so humble, she always calls herself an amateur even though I would consider her a professional climber or AT LEAST a high level intermediate climber.
Its just realistic though? She is a V7 climber, which is solid for people who climb for fun and have put some time in, but in no way does a V7 climber have a chance of competing successfully. A pro climber is someone who professionally competes in climbing and makes money doing so and shes nowhere close to that. And we all have different standards, but V7 is pretty average intermediate imo. It requires you to put some time and effort in but most people will achieve it in a few years.
@@mariamaalouf2138no offence, but realistically, you don't understand the word "profesional", because it literary means it is her profesion, which it is not
I would LOVE to get a better picture on your training throughout the week!! Do you train everyday? What other activities to you partake in other then climbing but you find helpful for climbing as well? And also maybe your diet? It might be to much to share online but honestly i would love to know ❤️
Really interesting video. I started bouldering 6 months ago and campus some weeks ago. This is the first tutorial I found about campus problems. Thank you! I always train on a step overhang spraywall and I think is the best place to train campus too.
First time commenting on your channel Hannah, I've been watching quite a lot of other educational climbing channels but your format with coaches and the way you approach this type of videos is very unique. I always learn something new in your episodes even if I've climbed quite a lot already. So well done really! The only downside I could see is the audio quality. It's sometimes hard to understand everything ( maybe more since I'm not a native English speaker ) and I think you could gain a bit qualitywise if you work on it. Great, great channel anyway! 👌
I love campusing, I do it as much as possible. Like you when I'm in a cave I have bent knees. Campusing is fun but I find myself getting stuck when I need to find feet.
From what i see in the video he uses strenght for the more static moves (when they pull up and hold the body and then switch holds) and the power are more dynamic moves.
I don't think i have enough power for campusing Maybe for a few climbs only If u do that on the start of your session it will drain ur power quickly, if u go bouldering and wanna finish with campusing it will be really hard cuz ur hands are tired already I think this video is more for advanced climbers
Started climbing 9 months ago, still haven't been able to break into V8's (and it's driving me nuts!) and have only sent a few V7's, but I've definitely campused through a lot of hard body position sequences to send cave routes, it's like a little cheat code for gumby's like me; well, I'm shit at climbing, can't hope to hold the insane amount of body tension to do the sequence right... campus time! Your videos are awesome, content is always interesting, helpful, and entertaining! Cheers!
Dude. I'm unsure of your purpose in writing this. But you should take care with how you speak of your climbing level. Climbing V7 in a year would be a dream for many, and speaking of it as you do, can come off as diminishing other's achievements. I'm saying this with the best intentions, as I know many who downplay their achievements like you do, but do not consider the impact on those who really had to fight for similar results. Everyone's path is different, and you can be proud of yours without diminishing other's. You might not have the specific techniques, developed through hours and hours on the wall, but you must be quite talented in body awareness and general coordination in order too achieve so much so early. It does sound like you won't benefit too much from campusing though, and should instead focus on what you're doing with your feet ;)
@@madraven5915I appreciate what you're saying, and you're right, but worrying about everyone's delicate sensibilities is not my prerogative; no excuses get stronger. Objective honesty is how I motivate myself and keep focus, excuses are only good enough for failure. I'm always supportive in the gym or outdoors, I got you on a spot or beta if it's wanted, and I never talk down to others or their abilities. Climbing is an incredible way to spend time, and a considerable portion of why is mental and psychical growth. Part of that growth is accepting your place in the journey, and remaining steadfast in your goals despite anything anyone else has said or done. I have hard goals, and it's been difficult af to make it this far (torn muscles, mega flappers, heavy-duty falls), but I want V10 by the end of my first year of climbing, so I've got to stay objectively critical and honest about where I'm at in the journey. My purpose in writing the original comment was that I was baked and just interacting with the video.
This was really helpful; I wish I'd watched it *before* I just went climbing 🙂 @hannahmorrisbouldering - can I throw in a request to work on pockets? would up my game, and I'm sure others

Wild Will Bosi at 7:03 haha
@5:19 a wild Will Bosi appears
WHAAAAT HOW HAHAHA, REALLY!? Why? Is UK really that small of a country? :D
im pretty sure he was there to advertise the new climbing feature on the garmin watch (i dont remeber if it was a garmin)
Is it Will Bosi’s goal to be in every single climbing video on RUclips in 2023 ? (spotted at 5:21)
Haha he’s doing pretty well so far ☺️☺️
Yup, your sessions with coachs and pros are always easy to engage with, thanks for putting this together.
13:58 "very impressive, good power" "yeah 😎" 💪
Just a casual WIll Bosi background feature at 5:20? lol
Loved the video! Learned a lot.

I love how at 5:18 Will Bosi just wanders aimlessly into the background :D

Your educational content is top notch, Hannah! Thank you for what you do!

At 45 just starting climbing this is very good advise.
I normally don't comment, but I have to say, I love your channel Hannah! Appreciate you putting out the content and information!
I met Stian in Gothenberg, hes amazing - we got to know about the climbing bible and his journey

You said it yourself, V7 is intermediate. Realistically, she is no amateur. Hence, she is humble.

i watch your videos religiously. Thank you for the best climbing content on youtube.
I love campusing, I do it as much as possible. Like you when I'm in a cave I have bent knees. Campusing is fun but I find myself getting stuck when I need to find feet.
Great video! I’ve been wanting to do more campusing. Just bought the book!
Love the coaching videos! Thanks 🙏
Love all these training colabs!
Glad you like them!
I pretty much never campus, but now I want to try it out.
Excelent content as always!
Surprise Will Bosi sighting at 5:25
5:19 a wild will bosi appears
These have been so informative thanks for this
Now, I should start the campus training. I can not even start with V3 campus route.😥
Wow thank you
Lol Will bosi randomly appearing in the background
Great video! I wonder what's the difference between a power session vs a strength session? Not sure I know the difference.
From what i see in the video he uses strenght for the more static moves (when they pull up and hold the body and then switch holds) and the power are more dynamic moves.
thank you for this.
You’re welcome!
Super interesting !
Sheffield!!!!
my favourite climbs are the ones i can campus, my highest so far is a v7
Great videos ms hannah. You are strong :)
I don't think i have enough power for campusing
Maybe for a few climbs only
If u do that on the start of your session it will drain ur power quickly, if u go bouldering and wanna finish with campusing it will be really hard cuz ur hands are tired already
I think this video is more for advanced climbers
Who also spotted Will bosi?
campusing is eazy just try hard and do it all the time youl get good
The main reason for campusing is that it looks cool 😎
Unpopular opinion: you should spend the same amount of time campusing and on the slab 🤣
do your campusing on the slab wall for maximum efficiency
Perfect, if u do it shirtless u can skip the peeling in ure beauty routine
@@oohall but fr would the slab equivalent of campusing be using only feet?
@@nadzianyx if you campused on the slab wall you would scrape yourself raw. It's a joke, please laugh
@@oohall i think he understood your joke, but just wanted to ask, whether campusing on steep terrain is the same as using only your feet on a slab
Their book is so thick.
this video is fake because ive never seen the sheff hanger this quiet :)
This video is very informative, but somehow a guy drinking hot sauce gets more views. I just don't understand.
That disclaimer at the end felt a little weird, didn't seem like the coach guy saw it coming, I assume it's some youtube thing you shoud better do aye
