As someone who worked in public libraries for many years, it’s lovely seeing them being celebrated for the knowledge and inspiration hubs that they are. Although, I will say, I’ve always found libraries to not be as quiet as people think ☺️ - and it’s amazing to think you had a table to yourself for the day with no one else coming by! 😄 Stunning sketches as always, Jess, and the video itself was a creative beauty 💛

This brings back so many memories- at college I would get a coffee and then stow away on the second floor of the library, reading and studying. Eventually, I would break out my sketchbook and doodle until lectures.
Libraries are not just places to learn- they are sanctuaries for all.

Just wanted to say, as a fellow artist you have given me so much inspiration and hope over the years. I always get excited every time you post a new video. You have brought so much joy into so many people's lives! Thank you, Jess! ❤ Also, libraries are some of the greatest places to spend your time in. My mom used to drop me off at the library when I was a little kid when she went to work, so I used to just sit there for hours reading books and exploring the nooks and crannies. I think it definitely helped give me a love of books.

Libraries are still such important spaces! You can find books that might not even be in publication anymore, and pictures you wouldn't find online! It's a whole different experience.
I grew up as a child before the internet, and going to the library was such an exciting thing for me as a child. I could spend hours in there, just looking at and reading books. It's where we used to learn about the world!
They definitely still hold an important place in our lives, and I wish more people would use them.
I love the book you chose. It's one I definitely would enjoy taking inspiration from too.

I am picking up my sketchbook and drawing in it, i literally forgot how calm and peaceful Sketchbook sessions feel. Due to design school and their homework I don't pick up my sketchbook anymore although I do carry it around in hopes of getting some space to do that but I just don't. Thanks for inspiring me, design homework aside now I am digging up my creativity to fill the coffers of my sketchbook ✨✨✨

I love libraries. Ouer is not as cosy as the one you went to. I go ad least three times a week to ouer library and work on my book. It is like a family, becouse mostly the poeple are the same they follow their own rutine, reading news papers, study or just spending time not ad home. It is funny to see how simalar the "move" from those poeple are. I am one of those poeple, I like to go to the same spot where I than spend mostly 3 to 5 houers, headphones on and I create my little world with words. My biggest expierence was in the NY public library. They had German books aswell 😁. (I am German)

Our county library system has partnered with a local art organization and member artists display at the branches. Each has its own gallery space. It's awesome!

I love public libraries since I was a kid 🥰 📚 It feels kinda magical walking the aisles especially in old libraries. And what a great idea to use a historical artifacts book as drawing prompts! Not only do you get the art practice but also the learn historical insights. Thanks for the inspo! 🫶🏼

Oh my.... as soon as you posted little tid bits in IG announcing this video... I was at my command post waiting for it to be released. It is going to be a tough week for me and THIS video has given me an enthusiasm that I haven't felt before. Always looking for ways to get motivated and inspired to deal with whatever life throws at you.... looking for the week ahead and making the best of it.... might not be the library but gave me an idea that I should have done before. As a history student I am so happy History book caught in your eyes and Library is my forever favourite place like my home
I absolutely loved this. I just did a foraging sketch date, sketching all of the plants and mushrooms foraged and writing where I found them. I never thought of going to the library. Great script writing, cinematography, and every little detail. Absolute perfection.

It was really fun to guess which objects you'd chose to draw. The dragon cup, the dancers and the expression of the aztec figure seemed like the beginning of a fun story. The page turned out beautiful overall and thank you for the little history nuggets and for taking us along. 😊
