Ran into a snag: the spiral profile curve means there's a topology gap along the spline: setting shade smooth still makes a sharp corner along it. I tried Merge by Distance, which fixes the smoothing, but messes up the UV's along that edge... any ideas?
Thank You!!!! I don't know why maybe cause I'm using a custom curve but I got better results using length instead of factor in the spline parameter node
I wish I saw this video earlier! I was going crazy looking for a solution on UVing the new hair curves like this! I don't suppose there would also be a way to select those faces that using "set Spline Cyclic" creates and then somehow merging them to avoid this UV issue?
Very interesting technique, but just as the new uv unwrap node I see it as pointless if you can't get the UV data after you apply the modifier or when you export it to another format. Do you know a solution for this issue?
@@Newemka Awesome. Plz, understand...no disrespect intended with original post. At least you made the effort to provide voice instruction. So kudos for that. :) I'll be honest, the tuts (by others) I cannot stand are the ones that just have music (and not even any text instruction), and expect you to just follow the cursor.

this video is outdated, I think I should remove it. Someone made a comment with a solution in the next video: ruclips.net/video/bS7a8RMdnHI/видео.html
@@Newemka yes to that pinned comment!
great vid, now it's super powerful with the new hair grooming system, we can UV hair like crazy now!
Wow! Works like magic!!
Thank you so much for this, it really helped.
Glad it helped!

to fix the uv error with cyclic curves you can use trim-curve set to factor mode 0.0 to 1.0, then merge-by-distance the resulting mesh.
Thank you!!
Thanks!!!!
Great Solution
thanks man!

Good call! Yes there is a solution I'll do a quick video about it [ EDIT: ruclips.net/video/bS7a8RMdnHI/видео.html ]
Good tut, but you need to learn to speak up, or plz adjust your mic sensitivity. Could barely hear you.
you're right it I will check if i can fix this video or make a new one, it has been fixed in the next video ruclips.net/video/bS7a8RMdnHI/видео.html

no offense are you trying to not wake up your parents or why are you wispering ?
This comment makes me laugh every time I read it. Now I make sure to have a proper audio volume for my videos.
