- This Off-Season I take a look at the best players' form. Not to teach you "the right way to throw" but to inspire you to learn from the great. There are a million ways to make the disc fly far and accurately, and they are all dependent on the individual. That is why I want to show you the many ways that can work perfectly so that you can develop your own, unique style.

Nice, I’ve been looking into this lately. Here you deliver again. I play with an ultimate player that has this down to an art, almost black magic at times.
Oh yea, they truly know this. But also the Ultimate players struggle to NOT throw the air bounce, too. When I started, I first learned to throw the Ultra-Star before I got my first Disc Golf disc, the now discontinued Innova DX.
Great video, this is still useful skill to have even in the age of Zones and Bergs. What's really intereting to me is that certain elite throwers (Jenkins, Orum) use this high-low motion for full-power throws and get plenty of distance with what appears to be a nose-up, air bounce flight. Barry Schultz also comes to mind, not a long thrower but built a long and successful playing career throwing air bounces and splitting tight fairways with Leopards, Beasts, and beat-up Rocs. Curious to hear your thoughts.
Great review Doc! Would love to see you do one on Steve Brinster's form, use of bent elbow style along with "Brinster Hop" = one of the most efficient power backhands forms.
I'll check it out!
I have a glitch specifically for this shot. Thanks dude!
Last throw was magician-level stuff! I'm trying that tomorrow.
I often air-bounce off the tee, but my upshots are brilliant (on any angle, usually without air-bounce). That's all, I guess :)
Thanks for uploading unique content like this; I don't take it for granted.
You can do it!
@@dgspindoctor May I humbly ask for a form check on Emerson Keith? I know he hasn't been super successful as of late, but he's a shorter person with unique form (imo), and he BOMBS. (Check out 2019 Worlds, for example.)
Maybe, maybe. But you know, almost everyone throws with the same principles. There are not many different ways to do this, and no magic pills to learn to throw. So after a few form checks, there is very little for anyone to learn from watching pros.
@@dgspindoctor You make a good point, as usual :)
I relearn using nose up anhyzer approaches with my under stable putter for left to right approaches every winter. I lock it in and by the time it hits above 50 degrees again I just rely on the justice for forehand approaches. It is such a pretty shot but I am glad the zone and it's clones released because it is not easy to be consistent with those touchy shots. Climo is right that it is a lost art that modern technology made less necessary and took the some beauty out of the game.
True. Climo is rarely wrong.
Quite neat indeed! 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
like these form checks ty
Thanks for watching

Hey, I never threw 500 without a run-up. You probably find those kind of videos on my Instagram.
