When your boogie woogie is so good that the Grand Dragon is like "I can't hate this."
yep!!!
@Olaf The KO King i guess add that to the list of things you want but will never get...
Right after a life, girlfriend and sex
@Olaf The KO King wow internet tough guy oh ima so scured
And even the Imperial Wizard says... fuck it! take my hood and robe I am done with this shit.
It certainly didn't hurt that Mr. Davis is a very kind, patient, and rational man. It's easy to dislike someone who you know has a dislike for you specially if its based on something so superficial as race.
I knew he was a musician, but no idea that he played with the likes of Chuck Berry. The more I learn about Daryl the more I love the guy.
So humble too
Hes lying cuz hes black.jk
Targon of Assad nobody is making it a thing it already is a thing
Chuck berry liked to take pictures of ladies making a doo doo
Chuck Berry was a guitarist, not a keyboardist. He's known for his heavy influence on Rock n Roll, especially for pretty much every band from the 60s-70s including The Beatles. A better analogy would've been Art Tatum.
He plays an instrument that sums up his greatest power, bringing black and white into harmony. Kinda like the song Ebony & Ivory. :)
one of the best comments ive read!
Unova man
Very well put sir. I'll even give you a sub!
That was so poetic
Holy shit you’re everywhere dude
Do NOT leave this man around yo girl

Why?
Do Not leave this man around yo Klan members
@@andrewm2399 Cause IRL Uncle Ruckus gots some skills! 😁

🤣
Idk why I found this so funny😂😂😂
Apologize

That’s fucked 🤣
Daryl Davis might just be my new favorite human being. Sorry son.
Jordan Littlefield it’s okay pop
He’s definitely one of the most interesting people I’ve heard speak.
You should try and listen to richard Spencer
Mark Wilson,🖕🏻
@@markwilson2421 hell yeah
The dislikes are from the guys who made that keyboard stand.
More than 30 people couldn't get it right
😆😆😆
Never laughed so hard at a YT comment before.
I choked on my smarties candy! 🤣🤣🤣
Bahahahahaha
I bet that piano smoked a cigarette after that.
Shiiit I had to smoke a cigarette after that.. and I dont even smoke!
Omfg I’m dead
This deserves all the likes, holy shit that’s funny!
They say that piano still texts him to this day.
@@joeq8098 😂😂😂
You can tell someone is a real musician because they do musician face
Max Awesom it’s called the “stank” face. Like, bro that lick was straight nasty!!!
Happens when we're focusing on something our brain doesn't naturally want us to do! lol. Triplets in even time are always difficult and bring on the "face" haha. Doesn't matter what instrument or genre, we all get focus face with the weird lip movements lol.
its when you're one with the tao
@@jg5941 PUT YO WEIGHT ON ETTTTTT!!!!
Especially this face 2:11 🤨
Daryl Davis is an American Hero!
Yes He is!
He needs to play music like this at his museum where he gives tours talking about his KKK conversions
On god
He legit is
I love how a man can rise to fame through an amazing story like his. Sadly, this doesn't happen often enough. Many people out there with crazy stories like his gone unheard of.
Daryl skips right over talking with a man's mind and has a conversation with their soul. Love this guy.
He's playing with a shaky piano, that's like 50% extra more difficult, this guy is a legend.
His wife is one lucky woman with those fingers
Haaaaamen
Thats not funny. He literally choked his second wife to death in 1981.
Gay
He only fingers KKKs. Thats why they like him
he gives her the boogie woogie blast
Dudes a legend on the streets and with the keeyyssss.
He's a National Treasure.
A brilliant orator and psychological genius.
Unbelievable results with great challenges.
Im not sure I get it yet but he is so talented i am trying to understand. Is he just super genius and knows how funny it is too? Or is he regular genius where he is doing great things off of feel but isnt sure why
@@trple2. He's talented with years of experience. Have you seen his appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience? He argues like Socrates with unmatched results. He went to KKK rallies and dethroned their top people.
@@trple2 Google "Daryl Davis TED talk".
I must disagree - he is a world wide hero.
@@MrAwesomeBart. Actually, you're disagreeing. You're building on my point. I concur with your sentiment.
That keyboard stand is like: "mu-st.. keep it... together!"
Rogan rocks. Glad he sent me here....
That's a long time musician right there. All the skills and experience. He knows the notes by heart
That piano needs a a more stable stand. That thing is about to fall over.
Agreed. Z Stands are the best. I always felt the normal X stands are flimsy and look cheesy. Z stands should be the standard. Sturdy and can cold 400 lbs np.
The piano is also dancing to the boogie.
naw, its just rockin out with the rest of us
Thats why it is exciting not just to listen to but to watch!
Nick Joslin all apart of the sound lol
A great musician and a really approachable nice person. I met him once or twice. Love that boogie woogie piano!!!!
I'm a classical trained jazz musician of 20 years, I wish I could play like that! He's a master
That was amazing . Stop Here and Grove with me 🎶🕺💃👯💃🕺
Two dislikes!?...clearly they haven't given up their hoods yet. How can you dislike his playing?
Very good.
clearly youre an idiot part of this society
@@DelcoTrash great come back man
Delco Trash he’s probably right though, whites be hating
@Delco Trash Check for punctuation and grammatical errors before you attempt to insult someone.
I had no idea his background. Knew he was musician, but not on this level. Wow. Crazy talented. I'm always jealous of musicians with this level of skill. It's almost like he was born with it. So effortless. Amazing!!
I knew Daryl was a super legit pianist, but I didn't know he played with Chuck Berry, wow!
I saw Chuck Berry having breakfast at a Denny's in L.A. once.
I wanted to talk to him, but he didn't seem very approachable.
@@pledgestone who asked doe
@@MinenArbeiterLP Unlike you, I don't need to be asked. So, keep your mouth shut till someone asks you something.

Daryl is a BEAST of a human being!!
Me: stares intensely at every key while performing chopsticks...
This guy:😏
Playing for like 40 years would do that for you.
voice like a heavenly gravel-mixer, fingers like a jazz-god and a heart of gold
this literally made me cry tears of joy. Beautiful man and a beautiful performance! So uplifting knowing he has opened the minds of so many klansmen and relinquished them from their bigotry. Great work Daryl!
@Doug Miles did you watch his appearance on Joe Rogans podcast?
@Doug Miles It sounded suspicious but funny. I died of laughter when he pulled the hat out.
I mean he was literally on live tv hanging out with the head of the kkk
my right ear is enjoying this
Eyes closed. Listening. Remembering he first time I heard this on Beale Street with my lost love. Memories. I love you Mary Ann. I miss you more.
Why does this man not have a noble peace prize? Daryl Davis is good for humanity
Damn Daryl was already an inspiration... And now he even inspired me to learn some boogie woogie!
daryl davis is the definition of rock n roll

OMG. The best I've seen. Do'nt stop. Bring it back.
YOU CAN ACTUALLY PLAY THE PIANO LIKE THAT? THOUGHT IT WAS JUST IN CARTOONS
Jin Kahn Dod you actually think Tom the cat was playing??
In old cartoons they used to trace videos of people dancing, walking, playing instruments etc. And then draw the cartoons around frame by frame which is how they achieved such fluid movement
@@charlieanddadreviewsandcha2243 ha
@@charlieanddadreviewsandcha2243 wait, Tom wasn't?
@@doodoobonejones Don't know what they're on about, yes Tom was playing but he recorded the audio beforehand and then mimed for the camera, due to technological constraints
Mad skillz right there, everyone. 👏👍👍
Daryl is a national treasure
Thank you
I must disagree - he is a world wide hero.
I love this man!! Dayrl should be an inspiration to every black American, and everyone who has felt negativity due to their race and how others view them.
Correct! I do missionary service in the country I never expected would be even more deeply racist than the American South was and some other parts of US. Speaking of India, which is supposedly the "land of love" HA 😢 . As a white bodied foreigner, I experience the antagonism. It is what every Indian born is taught from birth. Actually my childhood was one where I didn't know about my fellow black US citizens , because there was no sizable black population where I grew up. I started educating myself when I moved from there. I did remember my grandparents having a sweet black lady come to cook and do cleaning. She was like a family member and loved as such. (They had owned and managed a big mortuary in Philadelphia.)
My dad and him must shop at the same place for ties. God bless him! Love this guy.
How many times can I hit that like button . What sweet relief between news of the day. Makes me smile.
Good Lord, those triplets were hard as hell. Somebody get this man a Baby Grand!
Bro he doesn't even look at the keyboard....his muscle memory is incredible
His story is of value for all humans.
Awesome! He literally made that piano dance!
I love this man, I first saw him because of his TED talk and I’ve followed him ever since
Man, Daryl you sound like two people!
Nice groove on both left hand sounds, including the octaves left hand. He doesn't swing the octaves hard, he actually plays them straight. Like a rock and roll feel, and it sounds so good! Unique and awesome, yet kind of like Professor Longhair. Like Daryl, Fess was a rock 'n' roll guy.
Go listen to this man on Joe Rogans podcast If you have not already. Such an amazing story, and this man is brilliant, kind, patient, warm hearted, understanding, truly unique.
Thank you Mr. Davis.. we love you!
Total legend and deserves more recognition!
The amount of talent this guy has is indescribable,, but Boogie Woogie should do just fine.
What an incredible musician and human being, I hope he spreads like wildfire
Truly is a gift to the world to watch a master at his craft
Holy shit, he makes it seem so effortless
I hope he ceomes the first person to win a Grammy and a Nobel Peace Prize. Lord knows he deserves it
Daryl Davis, American Hero..i say this when i see this man on youtube.
My dude is SMASHING them keys! Hell yeah
Daryl Davis is an interesting character on so many levels. What great playing.
Daryl Davis is a goddamn national treasure!
That song always reminds me of back to the future, great song.
We love you Daryl, you know you made me shout!
I'm here from his Ted talk awesome dude need teachers like him in schools
This man is the definition of a national treasure.
Who's here from Joe Rogan?
All of them
I actually wanted to find his music but it's all kkk videos lol

Goddamn... Dude shreds that keyboard. I think there was some smoke coming out of it at one point..

What a great gentleman - just what we need to lift spirits. Keep safe and happy - from the UK.
Mans is essentially playing two different instruments at the same time
Yep. Pianos emotive as hell
See: the Doors organist

Daryl for PRESIDENT!
This is just fantastic! I took lessons when I was young but never got shown how to play like this.
What a great musician, and a thoroughly decent man.
The intro's audio was very far right
Daryl's Piano brought us to the Center
what an awesome man He helped bring peace between all people in a huge way. He inspires me to do better.
Chuck! Chuck, it’s Marvin. Your cousin, Marvin Berry. You know that new sound you’re looking for? Well, listen to this!
Amazing artist and and even more amazing me. Keep your message alive Daryl. I grew up a white kid in racist time and am so glad as I got out into the world I learned how much I was missing. The strength of the United State is diversity.
2:05 look at that SOULLLLLLLLL.
I love this guy. He had restored faith in humanity
I saw his ted talk a couple years ago people seem to love him on the rogancast
What an amazing guy!
Daryl, you'll never see this, but I would love nothing more than to sit down and jam with you over some good boogie woogie riffs like this. You got the feel man. It's the reason I got a black guy playing keys in my band. Y'all just have the rhythm and swing like no white man can conjure up. It's really a gift. Excellent stuff, brother.
A legendary man
Pretty sure this is legit the most physically challenging style of music for a piano player.
KingsCountyLightHaus Harlem stride is more challenging
@@XplusX12345678 thanks, this stuff is fascinating
As much as I love boogie woogie piano I think there's some Yes keyboard parts that are a bit tougher.
Some of the Rick Wakeman/Patrick Moraz stuff is insanely fast while also being ridiculously complex. Don't sleep on Billy Joel either, he has some crazy piano parts that he sang over.
When you get to a point looking at the piano is just hard work. Looks at those fingers go love it .
The reason he doesn't look at the keys is because he's playing straight from the heart.
No
died at this. amazing
the way he's playing like it's no big deal is hilarious. much respect to Daryl, you the man!!!
Fire
I swear to god I can't help but think of uncle ruckus whenever I see Darryl Davis 😹🤣

🎹🎵🎹🎵🎹WAY TO GOOOOOOOO DARYL DAVIS!!!! YOURE A GEM💜💎
Joe Rogans most interesting interviewee ever on the podcast.
I respect this man so much, souls like this are rare man.
There should be a sign on that piano that says "this machine kills racists."
Great playing. 🎉 Thank you Daryl. What an interesting childhood you had growing up with other embassy family kids. Your attitude is totally admirable and one can learn tolerance, patience, kindness and humility from your good self. Your keyboard is dancing! I have heard you for the first time. Reminds me of Billy Preston, and he was referred to often as the 5th Beatle. The Beatles got alot of inspiration from black musicians didn't they? They shared shows with Little Richard in the EU, (Germany I think).
Why would it say it’s a jazz performance when he is playing boogie
Who cares!
Boogie woogie is a derivation from jazz
@Ethan Rhodes yes it is
@Ethan Rhodes Okay I did and ur right! Boogie is foundational influence on later jazz piano styles like stride! However the famous boogie woogie practitioners like Meade Lux Lewis, Pete Brown and Albert Ammons were all jazz players whose styles was boogie boogie imo!
Ethan Rhodes so what are it’s origins ?
Can you imagine being a great guy AND a great musician. This guy has killed it at life
Im here from Joe Rogan. I couldn't be more impressed
He hardly looks down. Legendary status
When your boogie woogie is so good it literally coverts klan members...
26 years old and I just appreciated the shit out of that 100 year old music.
