I had a feeling once they cut the cancer out they would get better. I watched too many games with Josh forcing the ball to Diggs even when he wasn't even close to being open. I'm so happy it worked out better for the Bills. They would have been paying for the cancer to be on the sidelines spreading it further.

They would have done so, had they not stayed loyal to Kirk for the entire 5 game stretch where he amassed 1 TD & 9 INT. Had they benched him earlier on, they probably would’ve won at least one of the games that they lost during that run. Now, I will also say that I personally think sticking with Kirk as long as they did was the right choice. If he was going to sink the ship that they gave him, they needed to let him do it by himself. And that’s more or less what happened. They could’ve gotten in the playoffs with win the final two games but that wasn’t the expectations that were on Penix at that point. It was more of a, just go out there and be you kid, whatever happens, happens. Which was infinitely better than tossing the actual weight of the franchise on his shoulders mid season, before it was lost. Let Kirk sink his ship, and give the kid his own new ship to run, and give him a few games this year, to get a good feel for sailing the thing. That way it’s not all fresh and brand new next season, and he gets to gain some comfortability with playing real late season professional football. So they did the right thing with the circumstances. The circumstances just weren’t what they should’ve been, thanks to Kirk taking a swan dive off of a cliff.

Some of us tried to tell you guys about the Bears, Eberflus and Caleb Williams. It went nearly beat for beat exactly how we said it would go, knew it the moment they announced they were keeping Eberflus. Eberflus was a terrible coach, the Bears are shoddily run and Caleb Williams had (maybe literally) the steepest college to NFL learning curve of any QB ever, he did not play the quarterback position anything like the way it's played in the NFL, no offensive system, no check downs or read progression, no 3 and 7 drop back passes from under center, no RPO's or play action, no calling O line protections, no pre snap reads- none of this very, very basic QB stuff. Put all this together and it couldn't have gone any other way than it did.

I'm a Seahawk lifer and we have a very mixed opinion about Russ. A lot of folks think he's a diva and a whiner. There's certainly examples of that behavior, but not as much as other QBs in the No Fun have demonstrated. Aaron Rogers for example.
Where I come down on is that I respect Wilson. He brought my beloved Superchickens to the SuperBowl twice and to glory once. He stayed professional, always spreading the praise and taking all the blame. OTOH, I **totally** get why Broncos fans have the opposite opinion. In their shoes I would too.

I put what the Bills did this season, which we've seen other teams do before, on a list of things people in media should learn, but probably won't. When a team has to move on from big names, especially wide receivers, it doesn't mean a lot. They're not done. It's not a complete rebuild. If they have to move on from key players on defense, same thing. Those cap casualties that are a result of the QBs big contract will be replaced by younger players and there are always new stars on the way.
There is no SuperBowl Window closing because we had to pay the QB and now he'll lose his best WR. It just doesn't work like that. People who cover this sport for decades should know that.

I have to admit, after the Bills lost so much talent and experience, they would regress a bit. But after the preseason, I thought; the AFC East has belonged to the Bills for the past 4 seasons. The excuses for Caleb won't end. Would have loved to have seen Bagent start just 1 game to show everybody what's real in Chicago.

@@dlw2982 The majority the losses should be laid at the Eberflus feet. With his bone head moves at the end of three games he lost the team. Also the offensive line contributed to Williams bad play (when he wasn't hanging on to the ball to long).

What, when? Because by halfway through the season they were considered the best team next to the Lions

Same was happening with KC, especially in the middle of the season. Each week, they were on upset alert. Each week, they just kept winning… it happens.

I can honestly say that I knew Aaron Rodgers was going to suck this season. Healthy or not. And that the Jets were going to be a huge disappointment. They should’ve drafted a quarterback in the first round last year. Hopefully they’ll find a quarterback in the upcoming draft.

Pretty sure every single media pundit not named Nick had the bills not making the playoffs. The bills were done. The division was up for grabs.

6:30 Landman is slow and overrated. You can skip scenes no problem
That being said, Jerry Jones was amazing in that scene

The Bears were two incredibly stupid decisions away from being 5-2. If they would have won that game would that all time horrible in season collapse have happened? That game set off a lot of dominoes.

The rest of us absolutely knew we were going to watch a train wreck.
