I agree 100% and then some. He was simply incredible. I wouldn't part with an autographed #89 for 100 million dollars. Truly I wouldn't. My favorite player of all time. Beyond a shadow of a doubt. His ability. The way he played the game and most importantly the pure heart he showed every single game. He'll never be replaced in Carolina. It is also a crime he didn't finish with us. Only a fool wouldn't do everything they could to keep him happy and in our colors.

To me and for me, he’s very clearly the pound for pound greatest receiver ever and it’s not close.

I watched a lot of his games being a Panthers fan. Maybe the best run blocking receiver I have seen. Even on run plays you watched for what Steve Smith was doing. He often would block a DB into the ground. I have seen quite a few defensive backs lose their sand trying to deal with Steve Smith. Fred Smoot was never the same after playing him. DeAngelo Hall pitched a fit and got ejected for it because he couldn't shut Steve Smith up. Janoris Jenkins couldn't deal with him. And I guess we all know about Aqib Talib. Ice up son!

@@toxiccroc920 Scam Newton said that Steve Smith Sr. was to short and his size threw him off. Then they got Benjamin and several other tall receivers and we know what happened. The balls sailed over their head. And this was the come complaint Benjamin had with Cam. He is just not accurate and the world knows it. Does he have other attributes that other Quarterbacks do not have? Yes, but if he cannot throw the ball down the field with accuracy then he is not a good or efficient Quarterback. He might be a hybrid but defenses don't fear Cam throwing the ball. When the defense sees Carolina on their schedule they get exited. They say this is a game where I can get my sacks and interceptions. Then he dances after completing a pass or running the ball because it suprises himself when he completes a pass. When he runs for positive yardage he gets so mad and hype because he knows the defense is trying to take his head off. Maybe if he stops with the antics the defense won't be trying to injure him. I think he might be retarded. He doesn't get that the antics adds fuel to the fire. Charlotte does not need him to add swag. We got swag without him. We need him to win a championship. Then he can dance and boogie from Charlotte to Atlanta and then I will close my mouth.

Most admirable thing about Smitty in my opinion is that he was always Smitty. Never put up a front.
Met him at a Fuel Up To Play 60 summit around 8 years ago and spoke with him. I challenged him to a “milk drinking contest” 🤣 and he hit me with the “I don’t drink milk” line. We spoke about how dedicated he was to keeping his body healthy. Bet that’s one of the reasons why he was antagonizing DB’s at almost 40 years old!
