Thank you for another wonderful, easy recipe!! I just made this today, my husband and son love it a lot. I triple the recipe (so for 6 servings); I use 2 eggs, I also use 1 clove of grated garlic to add more taste. For the sauce, I add 3 Tbs ketchup (so 1 T ketchup if you are following the original recipe). Finally, since I don't have potato starch, I use corn starch, it came out good. I wish I can share the picture, it tastes very good. The only hard part is browning the meatballs in the pan.
recently the camerawork (quality/general filming technique) has been super nice, and chef and francis are looking great as well n_n this show has improved so much over the past few years
Thanks for the inspiration Chef and Francis! I used this recipe with red hot chili pepper and green onion topping for a cocktail party. I made at least 100, it was all gone in 10 minutes! :)
I'm stuck in a spiral I can't get out of. I watch one video and then see another recommended video that looks interesting and just CAN'T STOP WATCHING.
Thank you! I really, really do not enjoy cooking (i am very bad at it and due to the lack of practice, everything takes forever and I mess up a lot), but your videos explain everything so well and the food looks so tasty, that I dare to try it. This was another recipe that worked out fine. Thank you, chef!
Is there some sort of competition going on in youtube that I'm not aware of? Seem that Chef and Chef John seems to be trying to find the smallest wooden spoon/ spatula they can find to use for their videos.
This is interesting! I make (German) meatballs every couple of weeks. Of course we don't use Tofu for them. I can imagine this works really well though. The colour is much lighter than regular pork. Looks almost like chicken. Only things I don't like is how Japanese make sauce out of starch and soy sauce. It's always kinda the same: salt/sugar/starch. The French method of using the meat juices, cooking them up with liquid (e.g. wine) and letting them simmer to thicken is much richer.
I just finished making this and it is delicious!! I think I put too much ginger though because I had to triple the recipe. And steam the meat on low heat for 20 minutes because I'm afraid it'll be undercook. Other than that, delicious! I will definitely make this again. :)
I've always found it interesting how japanese chefs mix ground meat up into a paste, whereas in the states we tend to leave it textured and not mix it up much
J'ai tous les ingrédients, j'en fais ce soir ! Merci Francis (et chef !) ;) :)) I have all the ingredients, I make some this evening ! Thank you Francis (and chief !) ;) :))
I'm a poor college student but I out that blending 2 chicken breasts with a butt load of breadcrumbs with some spices can make enough gunk to make enough meatballs for 3 days, drench it in sweet vinegar sauce so it actually tastes good.
yummy ! Can you make restaurant type of Ramen? The special kind that is a bit creamy ... they serve with soft boil egg and ham or other seafood. You didn't make this before. I heard that the broth is chef's creativity. But I love the fragrant, tangy noodle texture and the creamy broth! Thank you and pls let me know !
