  • A 1920 song from Irving Berlin. (This week's Season is dedicated to Empires and this song appeared in "Boardwalk Empire.) If you play the ukulele and would like to come and join us, we are at seasonistaforu... ... we should love to see you!

Fine song and performance. The uke sounds just perfect for a 1920s song.

THAT is my "1920s" uke! I HAVE got a banjo uke, but it always sounds impossibly loud to me, even with something stuffed in the back. Very many thanks for the listen, Ylle!

I had never heard of "Boardwalk Empire" until this Season. This rang a bell. Was it on Potter's "Pennies from Heaven"? That was one of my favourite series from the 1970s.
PS. I love the detail of the Microphone!

Thanks so much for the listen, Berni! I have only in the last year or so started watching "Boardwalk Empire". It's well worth seeking out as it is brilliantly done ... it uses many 1920s songs, of which this is one. (I saw and enjoyed "Pennies from Heaven", but I honestly can't remember whether this song appeared in that. (The microphone was to cover up the "RUclips Shorts" logo which irritatingly appeared on the video.)
