Totally agree - hearing your comments and thinking as you work is huge beneficial and adds so much value! Thank you for your videos and your generosity in sharing your methods ❤
I liked the piece on the left, with the pink ink, not so much the others. The art boxes seem quite expensive for what you get but I guess you do get to try out supplies you might otherwise not consider buying. Thanks for doing these videos, I love hearing your thought processes as you create❤
Yay !! Just bought 3 ……the shipping was the same price ….so thought it made sense to get an extra couple for the same postage ! Also, when I went back onto their website, the price had been reduced !! Result !! Thank you for the recommendation and link to be able to purchase ! 🎉😊
I really enjoy these unboxing videos and seeing how the different art supplies work. I also loved your point about watching other artists work and work through problems on a piece, so we don’t think they always know what they’re doing and we don’t. I definitely tend to think like that when I try to make original art vs follow a tutorial.
I was not sure I was liking this months Palletful box. But that teal....oh my. Then the green. Yes, i need to make some art with this box. Im thinking TREES 🌳!!! i just loved todays video. I am very thankful for you showing and testing all the boxes. 😊❤😊
I don't think I'll renew the Paletteful or the Art Snacks after these subscriptions end. They don't really seem to excite me like the Sketchbox one. We'll see. Glad you loved this one! Thank you! 🥰
@2lilowlsstudio i really want to do a no year art spending until I start using up what I have. Too much not used. I love getting monthly new things but I am just piling up boxes. Of course, they had a speciaal on older boxes so I may just wait later in the year to get any. I really need to use my stuff lol.
Wow!! That paper texture is really something else!! Those butterflies are beautiful!! And if course the Kuretake Gold Pen!! Great video! Thanks Denise! Have a good weekend!🎉❤🏜️
Thanks for testing some products, that way we can decide to buy. It’s all good. A tutorial with watercolor inks, would be great.❤ goodbye mica gold, hello gold acrylic 😂
Ecoline pens are great, I sometimes paint with them. If you color on a plastic surface, you can pick it up with your brush. The possibilities are endless with these Ecoline pens. Thanks for the video I have learned again a lot, love from the Netherlands 🎨🖍️🖌️
I'll have to try them on other paper. Might have been the paper today that was the problem. I have a great plastic surface I can use them with too. Great tip! Thank you! 🥰
I’m on the fence about the subscription boxes, you received some great things this month. The Ecoline pens and the watercolors in the bottle are awesome. I use the pens for my art work in my journals. They make a great underpainting. 😊
That butterfly punch!! 🦋 I've been playing with a generic brand of watercolor STICKS from Hobby Lobby and they are probably some of the most underrated art supplies. I let my watercolor pencils or sticks soak in my water jar for about 1 minute and they get so juicy. Good video to see these products in action.
Oh cool.. I haven't looked at Hobby Lobby in a while. I don't think I've seen the watercolor sticks in there. I have a few Daniel Smith watercolor sticks. I forget I have them so I don't think to pull them out! Thank you! 🥰
@2lilowlsstudio They're just a generic brand from Hobby Lobby and I personally think they're better than the Daniel Smith sticks. Although, those are great too. But I'll to just play around, the sticks are great and full of pigment. It's unbelievable
Love the butterflies ❤. Ecoline are water soluble but work best on their own brand of paper and you need to work fast before they dry. The ecoline pens are also refillable. You can also scribble them down on an acrylic stamp block or the like and then water down and paint with them. I find them difficult to work with because once they dry they don’t seem to move 😢 I love the ph martins watercolour liquids and yes have the full set of radiance (full set syndrome 😅) but again they don’t blend and move like watercolour paints. Nothing like true watercolour paint! ❤ oh I rambled. Been a while since I’ve just rabbited on 😅😅😅
Good tips! I think that is why I haven’t really pulled out the ph martins that I have - they just didn’t excite me, so I haven’t really experimented with them much. I need to get them back out and have another go. Thank you! 🥰
I would love to see you play with the PH Martin liquid watercolor. I bought a set a while back and find them hard to work with. Off colors seem to settle out as they dry. Although I haven't tried to do some abstracts with them!
The Stoneground gouache is such a beautiful color! I was hoping it would end up in the piece on the right. I’m going to compare the gold acrylic pen to the Posca gold - there are so many variations on gold…🙂
I have the posca gold pens.. I need to compare them too! I didn't think of it in the moment. The Zig one is a shimmery gold very similar to the mica ink I love so much.
Denise….was it you who did a video a few months ago reviewing the gold pens ? I scrolled through and found the one you did a few months ago on the different gold paints and inks……but the video I was thinking of was actually about the gold paint pens. I kept the results in my notebook of the winners and I bought the top two pens that came out best….but did not record the artist who did the video as I usually do.….but I was pretty sure it had been you ? Anyway…..the results were : Number One was the Marvy Deco Color Gold . Number two was the Sakura Pen Touch. They are both really fabulous and love them both equally. The Marvy Deco Color gold pen is really amazing although it does have quite a strong smell to it. After this video and seeing your delight at the Zig Kuretake Gold Acrylic Marker gold pen……..I did a search ( I am in the UK), but could not actually find that particular pen anywhere. There are lots of Zig products as you know , and I do love their brand ……but that particular pen was nowhere to be found. So…….I clicked onto your link and of course there it was…..available to buy through Sketchbox directly. The good news is that they will ship anywhere and the postage wasn’t too bad ( It worked out at twice the cost of the pen)…..but no worries if it’s something worth buying ! 🤩🤪 I am now wondering whether to buy it…..do you think it’s worth a try…..I know you were excited about it today ! I do love gold pens !! 🎉😂🤗 All the best, Sheila 🤗🤗💕💕
I did not do the gold pen video… but definitely a video worth doing! I made a note of your favorites to check out. I have a few options already too. The zig one I think is my favorite, it really shimmered like the mica ink does. I looked around for it too and realized it is only on the sketchbox site. I liked it so much I ordered a couple more before they sell out 😂… sketchbox is good about getting new products and exclusive products. Thank you! 🥰
@@2lilowlsstudio …Thank you for the update, Denise…..🤗 Ah….I didn’t realise that about Sketchbox exclusives…..It certainly looks like it may well be the case with that pen !! 🤩🤩
I always love the unboxing videos. There are so many new products out there that are really confusing to newbies and you try the coolest stuff out for us. I’ve been seeing other artists talking about the Ohuhu brand. Do you have any videos with their pens as mark making? Opinions? Affiliate links?
Yay! Unboxing day is always fun. I used a die to cut out a sweater and made an ugly sweater Christmas card with my boo-boo backgrounds. Sometimes there is a gem hidden in them. Question: I noticed that you wet your brush then put them in the ink jar, could that eventually dilute the ink? Thank you. I’m going to my art room to make more w/c Christmas tree cards a’la Denise.
😂 omg every video you say how you’re starting on dry paper and I swear I just saw you put down some water on that paper before you put down any color😂 I’m just laughing because it’s so funny how we don’t even realize the things that we do, which is why I am terrified to be on camera😂❤❤❤❤ I love you please don’t take this as a criticism it’s just something funny and actually makes me feel a little bit more confident about maybe making a video myself.
and... you should go ahead and make a few videos... doesn't matter what you do and how well you do it... someone always has something to criticize... gives you a new appreciation just how much goes into the whole process.
I have always gotten the premium box. It usually has 1 extra supply in it and it is sometimes better quality art supplies and not student grade supplies.
It is the paper all right. Try mixed media paper or cellulose watercolour paper os something not very absobant. :) Good watercolour paper does not work well with them.
Ecoline has a line of paper for use with their liquid watercolors..I just got a pack..still haven’t used it yet…I hoard my paper for some reason…I have the Ecoline liquid watercolor mixing set and the colors are super vibrant.
Enjoyed the unboxing and a great assortment of products over all. Loved all the blues. Have a great day

Hi Denise, That pic of you at the intro is beautiful!
Love the unboxing videos!
Thank you! 🥰
What a lovely end to the week!!!
Thank you! 🥰
Love that first butterfly! You're going to need a bigger jar for those punches!
Right? Totally need a bigger jar 😂 🦋
I love to watch you play and experiment. I get so many ideas! Mostly messy ones, of course! 😂❤

I always enjoy your art box openings. I liked both paintings on the outsides but must admit the butterfly is stunning!
So glad you enjoy these! Thank you! 🥰
You must have a huge studio to store all theses goodies.
I did a studio tour that you can see on my page! I'm just creative in my storage 😂

The ecoline brush pens are for brushlettering and you can blend the colors in one letter. But also scribble on a pallet and use as watercolor
Great tips! Thank you! 🥰

Ecoline is from the same company as van Gogh and Rembrandt watercolors. AND yes, Ecoline is a water color.. LOVE them!

Denise, are you doing any painting outside of videos? If you are, I’d love to see a tour of your finished pieces. Maybe in a series of shorts?
Since I’ve made 160 videos since April for RUclips… definitely safe to assume that has taken alllllllll my time this year!
I always love the unboxing videos. There are so many new products out there that are really confusing to newbies and you try the coolest stuff out for us. I’ve been seeing other artists talking about the Ohuhu brand. Do you have any videos with their pens as mark making? Opinions? Affiliate links?

Some times I do add water and then dip color in it. What I NEVER do is wet the whole sheet and work on wet paper.

Hey Denise. The Ecoline should definitely be water soluble, I would say that the paper might be the problem? (-: Marion 🎉
