Thanks for the great video. Very informative with step by step instructions.
Thanks for watching & hope you check out more C7 videos on the channel!
Pretty cool. It’s actually a little faster than I thought it would be to load. No where near a quick as native, but still it’s a great option for those with wired CarPlay only.
Thanks yeah and it’s even faster when MyLink system doesn’t have to boot up.
gonna see what i can do for the c8 from this video 😂💙🙏🏼
Should have wireless connection now.
@@CarGuy11 yeah for sure
Thanks for making me aware of this as I will be getting this sir.
Thanks for watching and hope you check out more on the channel!
Nice informative video, well done
Thanks for watching!
I have read that C7 corvettes have a known flickering of the screen. Seems very subtle on your screen - has it gotten worse?
Would love to hear if someone has experienced the same and most simple way to fix.
So I don't need to install CarPlay just buy this device? thinking of purchasing a 2016 Stingray?
A 2016 has wired CarPlay standard so this will make it wireless.
@@CarGuy11 OMG you just made my day!!! Thanks
Good I need to retry it I think mines is in the compartment but I didn’t kno how to actually connect it
What are all them white little dots all over your dashboard?
Dust?
Thank you for the video. Do you know if this will work on a 2015 C7 Z06 (that means I don't have the CarPlay at all) ?
Unfortunately not. You need to have wired CarPlay.
You will have to do the screen upgrade first to get CarPlay and then yes you can.
Has there been any over heating issues storing behind screen? I had planned to use center console until I saw your video. As a sidebar; I'm assuming you unpaired your phone from vehicle to avoid a duplicate response. For example an incoming phone call would be displayed through vehicle connection as well as dongle.
No issues mounting it behind screen. Yes only connect phone to device.
When I plug in the device it does not even pop up anything on my corvette media screen . Great
This may be a dumb question, but what is the difference between this and Bluetooth? Is it the carplay app accessibility? Navigation, voice controls, etc?
Yes on screen nav etc wirelessly.
I'd be interested in making sure the audio is just as quality as wired - if you know...
I didn’t notice a difference.
I have a 2016 Vette Stingray. It was made in 2015 though and didn't come with Android Auto... How can I add this on my own? Please tell me there is an update I can do on my own...
It was a free dealer upgrade so not sure it can be done on your own.
@@CarGuy11 Okay cool. My dealer wants 1k to upgrade it. So, I called GM and have a case open with them. Hopefully they will figure it out for free.
Do you know if this will work on a 2014 Corvette?
Unfortunately no because it didn’t come with CarPlay.
Have you had any issues with this adapter? Like trouble connecting or it disconnecting?
Not really but sometimes it takes a long time to connect.
Wonder if this will work with my 16 that never got the android auto update. Struggling to find a dealer competent to install the update, figure this might be a good way to kill two birds with one stone.
Hmm probably not if you want Android Auto to work.
Would this work on 2014 vett
Unfortunately no because it didn’t come with CarPlay from the factory.
Maybe if you upgrade the infotainment system it could work
@@AltruisticEgo it does
My corvette is a 2014 which has no apple car play would this work for me and finally HAVE “APPLE CAR “PLAY?? Without having to pull any fuses
Unfortunately no you need wired CarPlay.
@@CarGuy11 yeah I saw some websites sell the hard drive or something goes in the car for 1k but some say they lose some settings some say it’s 100% hahaha so :( this is a bummer and longest trip you’ve drove your corvette brotha !?

Car play for a 2014 vette ?
Unfortunately no since it never came with it.
Would you know if my 2018 c7 already have car play
Yes 2016 & up have it!
❤
Can you watch Netflix or RUclips on it?? I know some do.
Not with this device.
Can this adapter keep two separate phones paired at once and work seamlessly?
No one phone at a time.
Great video just buy my 16 Stingray don’t like the sound quality of spotify trough Iphone vs sirius on car
Thanks for watching & hope you check out more C7 videos on the channel! You might be able to adjust audio quality in the app.
Does this device for a 2015 corvette?
Unfortunately no because it doesn’t have CarPlay at all.
It will work if u did the radio upgrade
Heard of some issues with finicky connections and/or lag? Not to mention there's prolly a RAT in the dongle rooting your phone lol. (Sorry, my paranoia)
So far so good. Connects every time.
Work for andriod?
Unfortunately not but there are other adapters for Android Auto.
@@CarGuy11 what is a good one for Android Auto?
It took 42 seconds
To connect? Sometimes it takes longer & sometimes shorter.
Will this work with a 2015 c7
Unfortunately no because it doesn’t have wired CarPlay.
You have to do the screen upgrade to get CarPlay first.
