Hey there The Man, to configure the look of the speedometer, use the arrow keys on the right side of the steering wheel and press the left one which will pop up the side menu on the screen, then scroll down to "settings" and click OK-then press the down arrow until it asks you about what "dash theme" you want (I believe that's what it's called, I'm away from home where my car is unfortunately so I'm trying to recall this from memory). Once you've reached that option, you can press OK and a menu on the right side of the screen should pop up where you can choose from either "auto" which will change the theme based on your driving mode selection, "track" (my personal favorite, the big hockey stick tachometer), "Sport" which is the big circle gauge with outer tach, or "touring" mode which kind of looks futuristic... let me know if you need me more help or if you want me to make a video on that?
Yes you can text on the screen and other things. Also you can change the dashboard speedometer look with buttons on the steering wheel. As well as put a flash drive into the outlet behind the screen to play music.
You can't change the shock dampening (ride quality) in the same way you can the driving modes (Tour, Sport, and Track). You can, however, change the handling dynamics using the various PTM modes which are accessed via the dial on the center console although those are primarily for track use only. However, by using Teen Driver mode you can limit top speed to 85 mph, limit the audio volume until the driver and passenger fasten their seat belts and limit the max audio volume as well. And my favorite: you can set audible and visual warnings when the vehicle is traveling over a pre-selected speed. Teen Driver mode also generates a ‘report card’ which allows you to see Distance Driven, Max Speed, Over speed Warnings, Number of times Wide Open Throttle was used. Forward Collision Alerts, and the number of times Traction Control was activated. >:)
I tried to push the power button in for a while like you did but no vette V logo came up on screen just the clock and date, I love your videos. I would like to keep the V logo on my screen
Thanks for the info. sir. I can read the manual many times, but it helps a lot more if I can see how this stuff works. I also subscribed for your new videos.
Great video; I subscribed to your channel a while ago. As a new owner of a Grand Sport, I enjoyed watching your content. I also started a new channel for my 2019 corvette and thoroughly love the car!.
Thanks for the support man! That's awesome, welcome to the Corvette family, my story is like yours, the weekend I bought my car was the first time I had ever driven a Corvette haha You picked a good time to buy, is that Watkins Glen or Shadow? Either way, it looks sweet!
I have a 2017 grand sport. The radio always comes on when starting the engine, even if the radio was turned off before cutting the engine. How do I prevent this? Thank you....gary
Bought a 2014 Stingray last fall. It is in storage but when I was driving the car to store it for the winter it started to rain. My information screen fluttered and then went blank. After driving out of the rain it must have dried out as the screen and information came back. Do you have any idea what went wrong? I think it must be the fuse panel box, must not be sealing correctly. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. Jim
Hi Jim, Hmmmm, I've heard of the screen flickering/not working, but have never heard of it being associated with moisture (not that that couldn't be it.) The screens dying prematurely seems to occur on the 2014's more often unfortunately. :( Maybe you could try fiddling with the connection to the screen the next time it happens to you, there is some good commentary on this topic here: www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c7-general-discussion/4108095-information-screen.html Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! :/
Darn, I wish I’d thought to include that in this video! For yourself or anyone else that needs to know, simply tune to the station you would like to set as a preset, then press and hold the “virtual” button you would like to set for the station that is currently playing. It works very similar to other radios out there, but one interesting feature is that you can actually program destinations as well as tone settings as presets which is a pretty cool feature!
Hey bass man, I know this is super late, but I did FINALLY make a video about how to set the radio favorites, plus some other cool features: ruclips.net/video/gkqby8KV9gs/видео.html Feel free to check it out, I go over some stuff you may not know about :)
brody porter That’s a great question, I was actually interested in this too when I bought mine. Unfortunately, the MyLink system in our Corvettes is pretty antiquated and doesn’t let us customize the generic blue background (shoutout to Jeep because I was able to do that in my 2016 Grand Cherokee). The closest thing we can do is hold the power/volume button for the radio and you get the Corvette logo if you want to just listen to the engine while driving, but I know that’s not what you’re looking for. :/ Maybe on the C8?
I'm surprised that they don't have a mode that if someone car jacks your vette and they don't have your car fab that it will still drive away??? I went to the store 20 miles away with mine and left my fab at home with no issues!!!
1brain4wheels-vid very helpful. Im new (3days) owner and having lots fun going thru various screens/configurations. Something im trying to figure out tho is when i tap apple carplay icon the screen isn’t showing all my purchased music, just maybe 15-20 songs (i have several hundred) I can change songs from phone itself but not using display. In my mind not a very good idea to be fumbling w/ ph. Thxs to you or anyone who knows what im doing wrong.
Hi there bigtimetorifan , you know, I don't think I've had that problem yet, but after thinking about it I just realized I only use Apple Car play for my Pandora, but typically just press the "Media" button below the infotainment screen which then allows you to search through all of your artists when the phone is plugged in via USB. You could definitely try that, it's still super easy to navigate, just looks different is all. I'll have to try and see if I can see all my songs via Car Play when I'm back home this weekend!
1Brain4Wheels driving this car is definitely a rush. I live in Orlando, so very congested. Im finding myself looking to be 1st at a stoplight w/ no traffic ahead so I can floor it. (But only from 0 to whatever posted speed limit is) 😉 tmrw i’ll try your suggestion for a possible solution for getting all my tunes to play.
bigtimetorifan haha, that's awesome I'm glad your enjoying your new toy as it was meant to be used! 😉 As far as the Car Play issue, I tried on mine and have the same issue-it only shows a select few artists, songs, etc. and then directs you to use Siri to search for further choices; the only way it seems you can see all of your purchased songs etc. is by using the media button and selecting that way rather than using the Apple Car Play... I hope that helps!
Hi Jesse Ramos, unfortunately the 2011 Corvettes are the C6 generation which really didn't implement an infotainment system as we know them today-do you need help with Nav. or something specific with that unit, I don't have one of those Corvettes myself, but I might be able to help! Feel free to reach out and I'll try my best haha
At idle you can hear a slight difference between the modes... replay and see if you can hear it. My camera mic isn't that good so revving up the engine between the different modes would just saturate the sound and wouldn't really come out as good.
Hey Tony, unfortunately not, the only way to control the DRLs is via the turn signal/headlight stalk on the steering column... and GM has always been sticklers for making sure you can only temporarily turn them off by rotating the headlamp switch “ring” towards you, you’ll notice that controller is on a spring mechanism so upon restart, the DRLs will automatically come back on every time. Hope that makes sense and sorry I couldn’t really help, but at least the lights look cool :)
Nice how about changing the speedometer. Where to you go and how do you change the display dash speedometer?

Hey there The Man, I just made a new video going over how to play around and customize the speedometer, go ahead and check it out! :)

Cassie Spencer how do you set up teen driver mode? That could actually be useful for me since I loan out my car occasionally...
In valet mode, the parking cameras are recording as well.
Oh, I didn't know that, good tip!
Just got a C-7... Luv you basic check out.. Thanks.
Glad the video helped out Obie and congrats on the new C7, these are awesome cars!
Have a question cam you set the background on it to say a picture of your kids for example
Nice video thanks. Just picked up my 2019 2LT
I tried to push the power button in for a while like you did but no vette V logo came up on screen just the clock and date, I love your videos. I would like to keep the V logo on my screen

Thanks for the support Jim! :) Yeah, with all of the options it's nice to have a quick run down of some of the settings we can play around with.

Is there a transformer mode?

You gotta take it back to the Chevy dealership. You might have get your radio replaced
The hatch also locks when on value mode
How do I reset the valet mode code?
How about showing how to set the radio stations? FM AM XM

Hey Jose, this one was a 2016 👍

How would this apply to a 2011 grand sport 3lt
Hi Jesse Ramos, unfortunately the 2011 Corvettes are the C6 generation which really didn't implement an infotainment system as we know them today-do you need help with Nav. or something specific with that unit, I don't have one of those Corvettes myself, but I might be able to help! nice work!
I would like for you to sync with an android instead of an apple phone
This guys winging it
100%, I think I’ve gotten a little better over time, but I’ve always been a fly by the seat of my pants kind of guy… hopefully you enjoyed my style :)
If you dont push the gas pedal we cant hear it. How did you afford a corvette and you cant push the gas pedal?
At idle you can hear a slight difference between the modes... replay and see if you can hear it. My camera mic isn't that good so revving up the engine between the different modes would just saturate the sound and wouldn't really come out as good.
Hey, go ahead and check out my latest video-hopefully you'll be pleased this go around!
Can you turn the daytime running lights on or off through the radio 2014
