Hi Monroe! You’ve got some great options. I’m a native Miamian and if you’re interested in widening your search , there are tons of places near the beach which aren’t exactly in South Beach. South Beach tends to be extra touristy and hence you get less space for more money. For example, north bay village offers bigger apartments that are near the beach. The Design District/ Midtown/wynwood are great areas for shopping, walking, and eating. The beach is not within direct walking distance but the ocean is. It is a 5-10 minute drive and you can still have water views (not wynwood). I didn’t even mention some of the other places like upper buena vista and places a little farther north... either way, I hope you make a choice that’s ideal for you. Welcome !
Agreed. North Bay Village (not many restaurants but very quite and safe to walk around) and Edgewater ( more hip and walkable) are great areas. The Freebee is a great ride service for easy transportation that is free.
Central air is great, bc sometimes those wall units can be noisy. And you will be using the AC probably 10 months a year, so I always look for central AC!
If you want to be close to action and beach, live close to a Lincoln road/West Avenue. Also, anywhere along meridian is popular as it’s the middle street and tree lived, trust me the shade is important! Also, south of fifth avenue (Sofi) is a beautiful area, and least touristy, there is a big park, 2-5 minutes from beach, tree lined streets, and upscale vibe. It’s my preferred area. You can walk to publix in about 5-8 minutes. I recommend the Cosmopolitan building. It’s my fave!
Beautiful places in the beach! I’m from Miami born and raised. Moved to NY lol Your perspective is spot on. I will say though eventually you will need a car. In order to really experience South Florida and surrounding areas, especially when you begin to network out, you’ll want to travel freely and more over leave freely. Lots to see and do on the mainland away from the beach. It sucks but it’s a need because public transportation is not as great as NY. It’s the one thing about NY that saved me some serious coin not needing to pump money into car payment, insurance etc. registration tags titles not to mention the traffic ticket trapping down there is serious. It made me hate cars so much I haven’t gotten one since up here in 5 years. But good luck with everything looking at these apartments made me so homesick. I miss all the excellent food and weather! My favorite part of town I lived in was Mimo upper east side has a nice vibe and not far from everything.
The first apartment is everything. You really won’t need a car in your down time. It perfect with lighting. Even though it doesn’t have central-air, it did have window units. And having your own washer & dryer is a plus.
I liked them all but the first was the best. You also mentioned it was in a perfect location. Close to the beach, restaurants and shops. I have been so inspired so much by a person I never met. Watching your vlogs I have stepped my game up.
If only u cud move the 3rd apt. to the location of the 1st apt. 🤔 having ur OWN bathroom is a huge bonus. U'll find the perfect place soon. Happy Apartment Hunting.💗
I like #3 the most because of the layout and I like #1 second because of the patio. Thanks for sharing so much of your life with us. Continued blessings to you!
Monroe I also live in NYC there's an ambulance station in my neighborhood , always racing out to save folks particularly when I'm on the phone😒 always say a prayer for whomever they're going out to save. I have family in WPB, Florida which I go once a year to see. Its peace and quiet there, trust and believe me I know what you mean😂 I love new York too but it's good to get away. you deserve all that you're planning 😁I wish you all best life has in stored for you, good luck on finding your dream apt in Miami.💃💃💃
Hi Monroe, I am so excited for you. My favorite for you was apartment #1 because of the central location to food and entertainment. Also the lovely balcony with the ceiling fan. Reminds me of a resort in the islands. Thanks for taking us along and good luck with your apartment hunting.
Awesome! Apartment No. 1 is definitely the best option of these 3! Your energy was so high when you spoke about it! It's really nice! I am so excited for you!!! It's happening! I am looking forward to your future Miami Beach Apartment Tour vlog! Coming very soon!! Congratulations! Love from Houston! xoxo
I have heard you talk about moving to Miami, I believe last year and it’s still in your soul to do so! Then you should do it. Purchasing a home is a good idea once you future out this part of your journey! Wishing you the best and may God bless you and keep you safe! 🙏🏾
Great video. Thanks for sharing your apartment search. I love the 1st apartment for so many reasons - the alcove, faux fireplace, washer/dryer area, AND most of all the balcony and kitchen - GORGEOUS apartment. Also Location, location, location!
I’m so excited for you! The 1st apartment was my favorite because of the balcony, layout and location. I really like how you’re organizing your needs in finding your new digs.
You and the beach are a match made in heaven! I agree ... you should be near the beach for your Miami apartment. I will live through you vicariously in Miami and New York!
Ugh now I want an apartment in Miami! Not joking 🙃 Definitely want to visit soon everything looks so bright, sunny, beautiful just what my soul needs right now 💛
Monroe, I really liked #2 best, but I hear you about the lack of convenience. I think it's great that you are doing this. You've worked hard..live your dreams!
Can I just say thank you for taking us along in this journey. You didn’t have to do this bc it’s a personal decision/goal that you have set for yourself. It’s really inspirational for me to step out in faith and not in fear...chasing what feels good to your soul and not letting the voices of other cloud your choices. Side note: skews anyone know what lipstick she’s wearing in this video ??
I do remember her. So the hunt begins. Let's do it! Make sure you check for maraquana smoke in the evening. Be a shame to be sitting on your balcony relaxing with a glass of wine, the evening breeze is gently blowing and here comes the weed scent. At the end of the day I'm unwinding and all I can smell is weed I'm gonna b hella mad! Ambience is everyting! For sure I loved the 3rd with the 1.5 bath. The lightening was life. Loved the vibe. Thanks Monroe.
I like the convenience of #1 but the overall layout of # 3. The living room seemed to be shaped like an octagon, really unique. Having your own bathroom is always a bonus!!
You will find what you want! Good thing is that you're not under pressure to do this you just want to and i love it. Im looking forward to you finding a place centrally located in the happenings and walking distance of water
Yes, Miss Monroe, a well lit apartment/home is a necessity! It's a great mood booster. Thanks for taking us along your journey! Miami here she comes....♥️♥️♥️
All are so nice. So happy you took us along with you. I once had beach access while living in NY....Its an amazing thing to wake up to. You will be Insanely happy Looking forward to seeing the apartment you choose.
I loved all 3 apartments but the first one was my absolute favorite. Thank you for taking us along on the apt tours. Cant wait to see which one you will get
I like the third apartment because it bigger, ( living room) window view; you're not in direct view of your neighbors and mostly because of your own bathroom but the first is better because of the location of your desire; near the beach, shops, restaurants, etc. Thanks for sharing another enjoyable video. I know you will find the right apartment soon. Take care.
You viewed some great spaces. I moved from Atl to Ft.Lauderdale a few years ago and I thought I knew heat but temps in as Florida give it a whole other meaning 🔥. You’ll need the ceiling fans. Like you don’t even know. I moved to Tampa after going back to law school and my ceiling fan is on right now. Have fun.
Love your criteria list. Its serves as a blueprint to determine what you won't be willing to compromise. Apartment 1 for me. The lighting is exceptional and let's not forget the balcony. Its fabulous! Keep your tribe posted on your decision. Sending you ❤❤ Btw OOTD fabulous. Can we have an in depth convo about those Chanel mules....Classy...
I like apartment #1 - because of the location and the balcony - very nice. And then apartment # 3 because of the space. Just make sure the different air conditioning units are not so noisy. All three were great choices. I know you are trying to buy so I am sure you have to mind a budget but # 1 was my 1st choice.
It's apartment 3 for me purely because aesthetically it spoke to me with the light and art deco styling. The en-suite bathroom didn't hurt either; it's a pity that the apartment went but I'm sure you'll find one really soon that meets all the criteria. All the best of British luck to you and I'm looking forward to the 'new Miami apartment tour' video coming soon.
I could see you in the first one. All of the ideas and decor you were mentioning I could visualize it. Also the last one seemed big but not Welcoming if that makes sense. The second one was nice as well. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm excited for you and looking forward to your miami content.
Three very nice apartments. Apartment #1 was very lovely! It's smart that you are exploring all your options before deciding where you will live. You'll find the perfect apt that meets your criteria!👍🏽
They were all nice 👍🏽 but #3 was my fave bc of the 1/2 bath leaving you with a private on-suite , the natural light was great also & the recessed lighting was awesome 👍🏽
I loved them all but # 3 had me sold to bad it was not available but I’m sure no matter where you land it will be amazing best of luck Monroe can’t wait for the content in Miami
I can feel your excitement of the move through the screen.. before you settle on one try to go back at night and at least get a vibe of what it's like after dark. Also in my experience being on the top floor is better you don't want to have the Cloggers living above you stomping the yard all night. I hated my stackable washer and dryer I would always bang my head on the dryer door when I bent down to get the clothes out the washer to put them into the dryer. Good luck.
An outdoor space is more than useful in Miami 🤗. The first one is the best i think, it feels safe, you can def feel the Miami vibes in it and the closet 😍 ! You ´ll be out a lot anyways cuz of the location and the weather !!
Yes, Miami Beach is actually really affordable, lots of options $1200-1500+ but salaries aren’t great in Miami, so that’s something to take into consideration.
Yey!!!! Monroe Steele Apartment Hunting...I'm all here for it🙌🙌Thank you for sharing. The first apartment is you all the way.💗💗💓 Thank you for sharing ☺️
Great video! I like the 1st unit love a balcony plus its close to beach, but a parking space is important to you I would definitely go with that unit which was very nice also. Good Luck😊 Thanks for bringing us along!
Good evening dear heart. I'm so excited for you and us. It feels like we're all right there with you on this journey. I liked all three of the units for different reasons. However, I'm excited to see what else is out there for you. An awesome start!!! Peace, blessings, and much love. 😗
I freaking love your content & im so happy I found you ! I’m a Taurus so I feel like you’re SO relatable & living in NYC & MIA is a goal of mine ! MIA is truly my favorite place on earth but South Beach is not lol try out North Miami if you have not found something. North Miami is much more chill but still very close to everything (: thank you for being a consistent inspiration for black girls/women like me, I hope to run into you one day
I loved this more than I thought I would. Also I didn’t expect this lifestyle to be affordable at all. Perhaps I should dream a little bigger and leave Brooklyn one day. Keep these videos coming.
Hi Monroe, vote is for apartment number one although the most expensive it had the best layout ( love the alcove yes it would be a great space for your desk) , the balcony, and the biggest closet. Apartment number 2 was nice because of the half bath.
Excellent Monroe. I trust that u will find something that is going to be very suitable for u and ur personality. It's nice to know that we have choices, bit we pay the "Cost To Be The Boss" for sure. U got this. There is so much to choose from and I know u will know it when it reveals itself. I like the first one, but I am sure there is much more to see. Luv that Sweater and the Jeans r Boss. Thank u Monroe for sharing, and keeping us always up to date! Stay Safe.
I like apt 3, it was spacious and seemed to have a lot of light. Good luck with apt hunting. I'm sure you'll find something that nice that has Monroe all over it. Thx for sharing
I'm obsessed with balconies too ( reminds me of Paris) but it must have a view and apt 1 has both! The space on that balcony is so Zen and to be able to view all of that greenery in your face is such a vibe! I also like the faux fireplace in 1 ( also reminds me of Paris lol). 1, also has that closet space you need girl lol Lastly, location...location, location
I was really expecting for the apt prices to be high! I’m shocked. Prices are very affordable but then again it also depends on your occupation. I’m a nurse and nurses do not make any money in FL.
I love aspects of each apartment you showed. The nook in apt 1 as well as balcony are great. The appliances in 2 👍🏽 And 3... the second bathroom is quite appealing Im sure what you choose will be perfect 👌🏾
The Sunrise at East Miami Hotel struck me about an apartment that I viewed near DC. It had a balcony with a view of the Sunset & Pine Trees towering above.🌲 More deja'vus...it was taken too.😏 All these apartments are Likeable, the layout & special touches like fireplace, alcove, cubby shelves, patio, walkin closet, in the Aesthetically plessasing unit #1 are Loveable. But is the Livingroom spacious enough for you Madame Monroe? All seem comparable with HWF (which is a MUST for me), modern kitchens & bathrooms, but unit #3 knocked unit #2F out the box with its powder room & better kitchen layout & laundry closet.
The 1st apartment was gorgeous!! I loved the balcony and the location. I also loved the 3rd one but someone had to scope it up lol The light was amazingggggggg. Shittt you got me wanting to move to miami now lmaoo I can't wait to see the others you view soon!
Out of the three it seems like option 1 gives you the most privacy. I would not select option 2, you might end up having your window blinds closed in the living room all of the time which defeats the purpose of having light. I had this issue with an old place... but sheer curtains could help with that. Best on your search!!!
The first apartment cause of location is everything. The restaurant and beach were right there for you.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Hi Monroe! You’ve got some great options. I’m a native Miamian and if you’re interested in widening your search , there are tons of places near the beach which aren’t exactly in South Beach. Agreed. North Bay Village (not many restaurants but very quite and safe to walk around) and Edgewater ( more hip and walkable) are great areas. The Freebee is a great ride service for easy transportation that is free.
I feel you about aesthetically pleasing
Right! I need aesthetics to be on point lol
Central air is great, bc sometimes those wall units can be noisy. And you will be using the AC probably 10 months a year, so I always look for central AC!

Agreed I probably won't get a car until I actually purchase a property here.
The first apartment is everything. You really won’t need a car in your down time. It perfect with lighting. Even though it doesn’t have central-air, it did have window units. And having your own washer & dryer is a plus.
Also laundry inside is a must! Sharing especially during these times is very concerning. Really like the first especially being close to everything.
Totally agree!

I love the windows of the 3rd apartment. The 1st apartment is best out of the three.
Yes to the neck riff!!! All these places have such great lighting and you would def make the most of whatever place you choose.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your apartment search. I love the 1st apartment for so many reasons - the alcove, faux fireplace, washer/dryer area, AND most of all the balcony and kitchen - GORGEOUS apartment. Also Location, location, location!

Hope you enjoyed it!
Me too
Apt. #3 but in the location as the first apt!! Lol!! Yes!! you can have it all sometimes, trust you find the right one!!
I definitely love apartment number 1. I think it meets all of your criteria plus it looks cozy. I can already see you decorating this place.
Monroe, I really liked #2 best, but I hear you about the lack of convenience. I think it's great that you are doing this. You've worked hard..live your dreams!
Thank you Lorna xx
Hey Monroe🙏🏾you find the beautiful place in Miami you are looking for.
Your eyes lit up when you talked about 1st apartment. Go with your heart. ❤️

The 1st Apt. has that Miami vibe, with those arches.👍. My uncle is in South Beach, and that vibe is awesome.
Luv the fact that you not scared to be you. 💪🏾
That 1st apartment is everything 😍
Cant wait for the Miami home decor and vlogs in both places! I like the 1st one bassd on your list.

The noise is one of my favorite parts of NYC. It's alive!

I’m shocked at how affordable housing is in Miami - especially in the areas you are looking
Yes, Miami Beach is actually really affordable, lots of options $1200-1500+ but salaries aren’t great in Miami, so that’s something to take into consideration.
@@LindseyDara ahhh I see. Thanks
@@LindseyDara , I am looking to relocate in Miami for work. Where can you recommend? Any contact info you can share. Thanks

Hi Monroe, the balcony on the 1st apartment is a game changer for me, but I love the lighting in 3. # 1
Great video! I like the 1st unit love a balcony plus its close to beach, but a parking space is important to you I would definitely go with that unit which was very nice also. Good Luck😊 Thanks for bringing us along!

I love apartment number 2 and the corner spot. It looks similar to your current apartment with a balance of light
So excited for you Monroe! Congratulations! Miami/Ft. Lauderdale is EXCITED to have you :-) Can't wait to see how you decorate your new Miami home!
Hi Monroe, vote is for apartment number one although the most expensive it had the best layout ( love the alcove yes it would be a great space for your desk) , the balcony, and the biggest closet.

Finding a new space is always a lot of fun
I like the apartment with the half bath especially during these times.

Good luck with your search 😊. Wishing all the best!
I’ll take the 3rd apt in the location of the 1st. LOL! Very inspiring Monroe!

1, also has that closet space you need girl lol
Lastly, location...location, location
Really nice apartments, love the first one so far. Good luck in your search!!
Thanks so much Jennifer xx
I was really expecting for the apt prices to be high! I’m shocked. Prices are very affordable but then again it also depends on your occupation. I’m a nurse and nurses do not make any money in FL.
I love aspects of each apartment you showed. The nook in apt 1 as well as balcony are great.
The appliances in 2 👍🏽
And 3... the second bathroom is quite appealing
Im sure what you choose will be perfect 👌🏾
Thanks love! That balcony is everything!
I loved this video💕. Apt # 1 was my favorite with # 3 coming in a close 2nd 😉.
This is so exciting! I like apartment #1. I like that you'll be close to a populated area.
Love the first one by the beach baby yesss and the restaurants everything in walking distance can’t wait for you to find your dream❤️
Apartment #1 is the best. Love the balcony.
Oh man. The one liked is already taken. I would go for apartment too. I love all of the natural light
Excited for your Miami move Monroe! Be safe with your walking to the beach morning ritual ✌🏾
I'm enjoying this new journey with you, thanks for including us. See ya in the next video. Sharon
