I agree that it is a very special game that just punches you in the feels. I love RDR2, I love the witcher 3, I love mass effect, i cried with them all. But man..... CP2077. It feels closer. Becouse mainly it relates with what is going on in our world right now. And honestly I think the main story is kinda short, but can’t say the side quests are bad. Really enjoyed the variety of tue stories and how they ended. Hope next year I will be able to buy a PS4 and play this game with more of It’s potential at hand. It’s a shame that they’re already going to focus on a sequel, I think the best option would be to stay with the current generation of consoles to deliver a game as close as possible to what they promised. This game became my favorite game of all time after my first playthrough, at launch, on an Xbox One. Maybe I was lucky, I did experience bugs just not many. I found the gameplay a bit clunky, but fun. What really grabbed me was the story and characters. I was completely immersed in the experience and by the time I finished it I was in awe. Then I tried it again after Edgerunners. Once again it provided one of the best experiences of gaming that I've ever had. This time I went with a different ending and this was the first time in my life that I felt like I had the perfect playthrough. I did the build that suited me the best, I made the best choices for my story, I had the best ending going from a corpo screwed over and obsessed with their rep to a nomad ready to move on from the birdcage that is Night City. Rdr 2's open world is alive every time you play you explore and find something new that you have never seen before in the game from dialogues to side quests to main mission, the game is 10/10 without a shadow of doubt, Narratively rdr 2 is too deep and there are many theories about every single mission and Easter eggs plot of the game is masterpiece, sometimes I feel like rdr2 is even deeper than Christopher Nolans' whole movie catalog, when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077, game was not that great on its first day but devs supported the whole community and fixed the game so major update 2.0 brought the game what's supposed to be at, general statement of cyberpunk is something incredible including Phantom liberty expansion and new style of built, cyberwares, new animations , mechanics are soothing and smooth that makes the game utterly great and new expansion adds more value to the game that whole story of the game seems to be one of the greatest ever and dynamic pace of the game make it different than any other game out there.

Yeah, I'm really happy that the police system, AI, and other sandbox mechanics have improved a lot and it's nice seeing people enjoy it. Seeing so many gameplay clips right now of people just fighting the police. But you're 100% right, the game was never about fighting the police and police chases like in GTA. It's about engaging with the characters and your choices through side missions and the main story. That's why it's such a shame that so many people didn't give this game a chance because of the previously weak police system, or because they couldn't open 90% of the doors, and other, honestly, mundane reasons. I've played so many universally loved games before. The Witcher 3, RDR2, Ghost of Tsushima, etc and I truly loved them. But like you, only Cyberpunk 2077 really made me reflect on my life and my choices in real life as I sob while watching the end credits. The side missions too that impacted me so greatly like The Hunt and Both Sides Now. There were so many great stories and messages in this game even before update 2.0 so I do feel sad and like it's such a waste whenever people say they dropped the game because there was no police chase, and when they mistakenly believe that the game is all about great visuals. Far from it. The game hits so deep.

johnny's story and journey is one of my favorites ever. his fight, his fate and his eventual friendship with V and the things they go through together is one of the hardest hitting stories i've ever experienced and I hold it close. and that's just that cherry on top.. this game can make you feel vulnerable and it can break you open to make you consider things about life you hadn't yet. I remember when I had completed the story for the first time and just felt completely torn apart by it and then completing everything there was to offer in night city till it was bone dry. any disappointment i may have had with the game was that they didn't plan for people to stick to it this long.. they didn't plan for V to be alive longer.. but truth is i'd have played cyberpunk non-stop if the world, the city didn't stop breathing but eventually it does at a certain point.. you run out of conversations to have with the npcs and run out of interactions you can have as the nature of single-player games. "if your only compliant is that you wish there was more, you know you have something special"
all in all, CDPR may have not released the game in spotless condition but take it from someone who first played it on the PS4. the game was great then and it is better now.

I forced myself to play through Witcher 3. Because everyone was so excited. It took me years and several attempts to do so.
Cyberpunk? I ignored the hype, I saw the launch and what has happened. With patch 1.31 and the game on sale I bought it and it was damn good. It catched me where the Witcher had failed.
My wife died this year on cancer and she has nothing to do with video games. She saw me playing a lot of games. She never cared about any of it. But Cyberpunk? The listened to conversations, recognized them if I died or had to reload. She loved the music and she even liked Jonny. 10 years of watching me playing all sorts of games but Cyberpunk even caught her attention? I never in my life expected that. I gave up on it years ago.
So it will ever be a bitter sweet memory of her to me.❤

The story-telling and how they presented the story made us feel more for the character as if we are actually with them including the main character V even if as the player, we are looking at it from his/her eyes. This is something that a lot of other games fail to do because they focused too much on mechanics that their world doesn't feel like a story unfolding, but just a game to be played.
I remember way back I played this at launch, and after the game is done, I just sat there blankly staring at the credits screen as the holocalls show up one after the other. After the holocalls, i couldn't help myself but start clapping and smiling. It was such an experience.

I fell in love with this game on release, and I’ve fallen in love with it a little more with each update. I just finished Phantom Liberty and was just blown away, and had to take some time to process the story, the emotions and events. Some of us are just story driven people. I’m 51, in my job I’m reading almost all the time so reading for pleasure has, sadly, become a bit of a chore. To play a game like Cyberpunk fills that void.

All I'll say is that I'm most of the way through 3 playthroughs (2 finished, one over half way through) and have started a 4th playthough just for 2.0 and Phantom Liberty
and 2 things stick out to me
I cried at everyone of Jackie's Offrenda's, and will now doubt cry for the 4th one
The "On your own terms" ending has haunted me in a positive way ever since I discovered it
it truly makes you consider the intrusive thought that I know at least I've had on and off for years now
    and more importantly it's consequences
especially considering the fact that V is more than likely an anomaly in the world of the game, someone with the social web of a bygone era, to not alienate us the players
But look at people like Barry the depressed cop, I think he's a more accurate everyman
It must be baffling to live in a world where medical tech is so advanced, not only can you get replacement organs, but people choose to replace their functionning organs with better chrome
and where the top Paramedic Company litterally has a "Death-Scale" from 1-10 to determine how well they'll be able to bring someone back from braindeath
And yet the average life span must be in the 40s at Most, and even then that's with old-ass Corpo-fucks dragging the numbers up
I think as strange as it might be, I'd probably prefer living in Night City, like starting life over
Because to all intents and purposes, our world is only a few steps away, rather the Megacorp controlling our lives with the initial A is Amazon rather than Arasaka
and there's a certain, I don't know, earnesty in the world of Cyberpunk, the corpos seem less shy about their corruption and control of politics
But at least I'd be able to directly interface with a computer, brain-to-binary, and get zoomy camera eyes that can take pictures from my personnal point of view, and as an Edgerunner, never live two days the same way, whilst still having some habits, like cheap-ass Buck-a-Slice or a nice cool Broseph to wash it down with.
In summary, the world today is so fucked up, that even an explicit dystopia is more escapist and enjoyable than whatever the fuck's going on out here
(ok I just had a realisation but I intended to finish the comment here so bear with me, I'm reminded of the Bears in Trees song about apathy being boring and I think that's the gist of it
People in Cyberpunk are angry, sad, annoyed, anxious, so many different things, but for the most part, they don't seem apathetic, they mostly still have a spark of life in them, whether that manifests through family bonds, reinforced by caravanning through the deserted ex-USA together, a bond forged in the pits of corporate backstabbing, or a humble kid off the Street who's somewhat of an icon where he lives, because not only did he do what he had to to survive, he thrived)

I'm with you, man. Characters, stories and narrative of this game makes you feel extremely emotional when you finish it.
It's a combination of melancholy/nostalgia but also some hope.
If you chose the ending were V lives, on one hand you are deeply saddened that V won't live a long life but on the other hand, especially when you end up with Panam and Aldecaldos, it feels like V found their place/love and family. And after all, V didn't want to die from old age anyway.
If you end up giving your life to Johnny, it also has some beauty in it. The fact that V was fighting so hard for survival but at the end was happy to give his own life to a friend, who can get more out of it, it speaks of amazing growth and maturity.
Endings of Phantom Liberty are also absolutely amazing. Songbird is such a well written character but the story no matter, which ending you end up getting - is extremely sad. Personally, what I found the most amazing, that killing Songbird actually felt like the best ending, especially when you learn so much about her and embrace her with a hug in a memory just before ending her life, which she absolutely wanted.
CDPR is really good at writing characters and stories. Even some side gigs have better writing than 99% of modern games (Paralez couple or serial killer missions as an example). I can't wait for their next games.

I love this game with a passion. Every bit of it. The emotions it gave me eclipsed any over game I’ve ever played. It’s the only game where I’ve been immersed so heavily, that it made me feel as if I were actually apart of the world. The story felt real. The city, although not the most dynamic, felt real. And most importantly, the characters felt real, the realest I’ve ever witnessed. More real than a movie, TV show or book. Cyberpunk is at the forefront of immersive media. I foam at the mouth, eagerly awaiting the next game. And I know CDPR may have me under a spell, yet I’m complacent. It’ll be years until we get more, yet my hype is immeasurable.

@@SlipppppppA lot of the hate was simply how fucking toxic gamers are these days, a huge problem with modern gaming that often gets ignored in favor of "company bad." Also, SO MUCH of the hate was based on how very little most gamers understand what goes into making a game, the lies and false information created and spread by the fans and RUclipsrs. But people are awful with self-reflection these days and will never admit they are also part of the problem. It takes a certain level of maturity most gamers simply don't have.

I’ve watched social media unite the downtrodden and victims of crime and become one of the greatest forces for good I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen it become a sewer of profanity and disrespect and while I wouldn’t take social media away if I had the power to, the biggest reason I WOULD have for destroying it is that nothing has been a better conduit for spreading group-think. I’ve watched hundreds of thousands of people adopt poorly formed opinions in a gigantic wave over and over and it’s sadder to me than any swearing and sadder than death threats over game delays.
It reminds me that there are huge amounts of dim-witted people, herds of them thousands-strong right amongst all the beautiful and strange and wonderful people. A beige stain on humanity. So I like to hear someone speaking passionately and almost poetically about having a different perspective on a game that was surrounded by the moos of herds of easily-led group thinkers that is about a fictional dystopia that was enabled by humanity being made up of herds of easily-led group thinkers.
    Great work👍

    Wow dude
thanks so much for taking the time to capture in words and video what all of us who have shared in the experience felt.
I held out for a very long time before entering Night City; I was very skeptical of the stroyline, the setting (thinking it was a 'dirtier' GTA) and that it wasn't for me. Then the catastrophic release happened and all the fallout that followed; and I felt as though my intuition had been confirmed and life moved on...
I got my first high end gaming PC recently, primarily for PCVR, though also for the release of Starfield. Coincidentally, Baldur's Gate 3 had also recently been released, so I started going down those routes. Cyberpunk kept showing up again and again and so I gave in and said, let's see what its really about. I think after about the first 20 min. I was on the hook. Not coming from a hardened fps background, it was a steep learning curve and I ended up starting over several times until I had the feeling, "I can do this." I restarted once again for the 2.0 patch and am now 80h deep into it. I'm so grateful to have your video now to always be able to point to and remind myself of the most important moments/messages and experiences. Phantom Liberty was a gift to us all that gave us more. It took something that has become great and gave more. I'm so terrified of reaching the end, though the more I get into it, the more I realize I don't need to rush to it. I'm taking my time, doing side missions as I feel like, keeping touch with all of the characters on a regular basis; even going "home" (in my case, it's to Judy) on occasion, just to recenter myself...I know full well, the longer I draw it out, the more impactful the ending is going to be, but between Johnny and the rest, when the time does finally come, I might be ready. Again, thank you.
