In someways, I think this is actually good practice for the off-road mushroom spots people use on tracks like Dry Dry Desert and Excitebike Arena.
At the same time, the limited areas to drive makes some tracks challenging when items like shields take up the entire area.

Excitebike made me realize: twists & turns are great & all, but an official Mariokart track that's just 2 long straightaways would actually be pretty interesting, like mayro's LINES track but they don't narrow down

every track at the beginning you rotate your kart by 180° and then instead of going forward just go backward so you will go into the right direction but if you get a boost it's making you go back
