I’ve had mine for 23 years. Had it serviced 4 times and still working like a charm. The best sports Rolex in my opinion. Timeless design and versatile in any given situation. Passing it to my son when he turns 20 this year.
I just wanted to take a moment to say how amazing your video was! I was really impressed with the quality of the footage, the editing, and the overall presentation. You did a great job of explaining the topic in a clear and concise way, and I learned a lot from watching your video. I also really appreciated the way you made the video engaging and entertaining. You kept my attention throughout the entire video, and I never felt bored or lost. I would definitely recommend your video to anyone who is interested in learning more about the video.
So beautiful. I’m glad they finally sold you this beautiful piece. An update: I’m in Europe on vacation and all of a sudden getting an email from a local AD saying that they left me a voicemail and not heard back from me. The black Explorer II is available. I called them and ended up buying it over the phone as they cannot hold it for me to come back. When I am back to the US, I’ll pick it up. I don’t know if I would like it as much as my Explorer 1.
I love my 124270. It’s my favorite watch and it’s going to be hard to top as an every day, every situation watch. I also had no idea that you can use a nail buffer to lighten up some scratches. I wear mine to work and half of the day can be physical labor and I’ve already gotten a good number of scratches on the bracelet and the buckle. I’ve gotten a couple of very very tiny marks on the bezel but since that is high polished I don’t think I’ll attempt getting them out. Plus, im more careful with it now.
I bought my explorer a couple of months ago and I love it. Its my first Rolex. I got my first REAL scratch on it about 2 weeks ago. It sucks at first but I realized that its going to happen if I want to wear it everyday. These watches are built like a tank so I don't worry too much. I want to see what this watch looks like with a good set of scratchy patina!
hopefully it will be at Patek. I’m struggling to choose any other additional Rolex that I really want (except the steel Daytona, which I can’t get anyway [VIP WATCH])
Love the thirty-sixes! Hold on to that Wimbledon if you can. I have a feeling it may be discontinued in the next couple of years. And that Day-Date…over the top class! Thanks SC!
I've been buying various buffing sticks to try and remove the scratches. To be honest it's really hard to match the grit level Rolex used. I have my BB58 as the test subject and it always gets a different finish. The grain is straight however, as I use the flat table as a guide.
The box is from Amazon. Inexpensive, and nothing special, but it works. The pillows were tight in my 6.5 inch bracelet, but then softened up later so it fits fine now, www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0716HDPMW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Fellow dark roast fan!! How long you fasting for? For anything longer than 24hrs, my typical routine is water and green tea until about 2:30 pm; black coffee at 2:30; and end with water and green tea or rooibos tea in the evening.
similar here. 1 coffee, then first meal at around 3pm daily. but I only do more than 24 hours about once a month. the weight really comes off after 36 hours, but most of that is water weight. longest I’ve gone is 40 hours.
As Jerry Seinfeld once observed "the reason he's the ironman is because he goes out there and plays every game, if you take that away from him you break his spirit."
Great watch! However, you should give medium to light roasts a shot. You would be reminded that coffee is indeed a fruit. Dark was my go-to before, but light is definitely a whole new world. Cheers!
I was thinking about your videos and this watch today - I recently got the 224270 and would love to try a 124270 that’s already sized for my wrist, I think we are close. There’s always something slightly off about every explorer model for me and I too started with the 114270. I think we have the same AD, let me know if I can get you an indoor coffee and we can chat explorers!
Bro, you’re supposed to separate the two intertwined mosquito coils otherwise the burn the wrong way. Also, wash your hands properly after handling them because they contain the poison pyrethrol which is derived from the pyrethrum flower. And you’re too close to it and breathing the fumes. Please be careful. Still want to see more of your videos. lol
Love your videos man! Going to buy my first Rolex. AD confirmed that soon she will be able to give me Explorer 36mm which is one of my favourite watches. Man, I am really confused between OP green 36, Datejust domed bezel in Wimbledon (exactly like yours) and Explorer 36. Help me!!
Very Cool. Just my opinion, absolutely no question, grab the Explorer 36mm as soon as you can. So much more versatile than the other two you mentioned, and a true Rolex Steel Sports. Black goes with anything. It wears slightly smaller than a usual Rolex 36, but that’s ok with me.
Hello, I got my 124270 less than 2 weeks ago, and I must say, the more I wear it, the more correct it seems. A sporty, comfortable watch that exudes sophistication. as for 36mm, I do agree, explorer, datejust, and daydate are about as good as it gets. I have not seen your other datejust, but if has a jubilee bracelet and a fluted bezel, perhaps keep that and sell this- makes your 36mm lineup more diverse and compact.
I'll prefer living with scratches... - insted of trying to remove in an unauthorised way... You are rounding the edges, and material goes into the links of the bracelet - means unwanted wear. Leave as is - or hand over to pros... Grest watch, indeed. Looking forward to get one to match my Sub... Enjoy your Coffee 😎👍
@@sc1 Not sure where you are located. didn't even know they had this in the U.S. Nice collection btw, been watching your videos for some quite of time now.
One of my favorites. It fits perfectly on my 7.25 inch wrist. I wouldn’t worry about scratches
Glad you are still enjoying it!

That Explorer II Black dial is a good buy. Enjoy it!

I wouldn’t touch the bezel, but it’s ok to touch up some light scratches on the brushed bracelet or clasp.

The Explorer will survive for decades. I try to minimize damage, but I don’t get upset when the scratches come. No need to worry.
Same! I’m wearing my 36 everyday and I love it.
Nice x3! Just picked up 2024 x5 Msport a few months back. Beautiful watch as well!
Cool. X5 M is a big upgrade!
again great video. Hope to see you soon at the AD again with a travel vlog.

still have some anti-buffer viewers
Awesome Explorer vid...great scenery and coffee time...
Thanks for the visit

For what it’s worth, I use the #4 side on my buffer stick.
I just purchased this and came to check if you already had it. I knew you would!
enjoy that nice weather!
People who say this is too small are insecure. I have a vintage 34mm Omega that looks awesome
I had a chance to purchase a 34mm silver dial Rolex OP, but I passed it up. Now I wish I would have gotten it.
Thanks for another episode
Nice video SC! Where did you get your watch box from and do you think the pillow would fit watches sized to 6" wrist?

Great video I own a 14270 and a 124270 Love them both.. 36mm Explorers are great watches, they are the perfect everyday.

This is so close to my collection
Explorer 36
Wimbledon 36 Oyster bracelet
OQ DJ 36 Two Tone
Perfect for my work and lifestyle
Sounds good. Well-rounded Collection. (I suggest at least one oyster and one jubilee bracelet; one domed and one fluted bezel)
Coffee, cars and watches in the outdoors. Enjoyed the video. Day-Date 36mm but I prefer the 40mm platinum if I could choose.
INTERESTING… I was actually recently pondering whether I shoud push my AD for a 36mm platinum Day-Date.
Do it. A real grail piece.

I’d be scared to use a nail file on my watch.
I’m ok with it. I’m just very careful and selective where I brush it. Haven’t seen any damage from doing it so far.
That coffee ritual is ridiculous. Nice watch.

What did you to get the scratch out ?

ok, thanks. I was just using it briefly. I’ll be more careful next time…
So are you gonna refinish your watch each time you scratch it 😮
128238 for sure. Love mine
Is that a mosquitto coil!?
yes, it really works. keeps away all the flying bugs

fluctuates between 6.5-6.7 inches@@nonammmmme
Nice video, but scratches are meant to be a part of the watch’s journey. Gives them character…buffing them out is lame
Awesome review! I didn't get the size of your wrist? I am currently waiting a call from my AD, hopefully soon ... Wear it in good health man! :)
thanks. my wrist is 6.5 inches. this Explorer is a small watch, but fits me well.
Since i bought a 124270, i forgot that i aslo have a 124060..... why'???
That’s the correct way to burn a mosquito coil ?
No, it is not.
High grade patina
