I watched several of these videos where people are measuring, taping doing bunch of steps. In my mind I was installing it the way you did. This is my kind of an instal. Very informative. I’m gonna carefully “wing” it. Ordering the parts right now. 😀
Just got a spoiler for my e36 thought it was screw type but ended up coming with 3m tape on it already, my main concern was the prep, glad to know all I need is rubbing alcohol 🤘
Hi Mate I just got my spoiler I didn't get any adhesive tape I can see there is screw hole underneath the spoiler, i don't want to screws my boot is the adhesive strong to hold the spoiler and which adhesive tap I should buy please help
Use a plastic scraper followed by goo gone oil solution, it melts the adhesion residue away. Finish off w a wash and it'll be brand new@@lawabiding2576
I noticed you didn’t heat up the tape before you put it on. Has it stayed secured or have you had to go back and resecure it at some point after you put the spoiler on??

How did it go? I am contemplating letting a shop do it for like 20$. Dont wanna fuck up
i winged it and fuckrd it up
I did it on my Mx-5. Used some masking tape to set up perfect alignment. It took 3 min.
It will blow off with off 3m. 3m is a water sealer not a fastener on 99% of spoilers
@@elistutzman3760 Not 3M VHB tape.
Use a grease marker to help line it up where you want it. Grease marker won't damage paint/clear coat and it wipes off relatively easy.
Lookin good. You got balls sort of eye balling the placement!

Nice bro! 👍
can you link the adhesive tape you used?
Where does the tape have to face up or down?
My man, is the wing still adhered to the car? Is it reliable and how long did it last? I ordered a similar wing and do not want to screw holes either.
its still rocking bro, even going thru car washes like once a week,
Does rubbing alcohol damage the paint? And is the tape secure enough that the spoiler will survive rain, snow, slush and not fly off?

when going for a car wash.. did it hold when they used a jet washer?
Facts
My bad so late, but yes! It did/does!! But the adhesive tape is the most important
Nah bro the tape doesn't resist.. First Wash, yes.... But second Wash the spoiler is on the floor.. It happened to me
@@arachino998u did something wrong. I have mine over 2 years all weather and car wash😂

Gracias hermano
Im thinking of doing this for my benz. Do you think can handle daily driving on highway plus harsh winters?
it took me one and a half hour to remove the old 3m from my spoiler and i hold up to 270km/h, so yes this is undestroyable
@@pcssi4150 How did you remove the old tape and glue?

It holds up really good! I didn’t use the heat gun (even thou I purchased one, lol) it’s been on for about a year now w/ going thru car washes and all
I just ordered a wing and was wondering how long will it stay on. I heard it was permanent, and no need to screw holes...Is it true?
@@lamiin1 Nah it’s not permanent.
@@lamiin1 maybe 3-5 years max w BEST PREP. Preparing surfaces is everything when it comes to proper adhesion
Where u get the spoiler from?
i do not remember right now, but it could have been either ebay OR amazon...was not expensive
it was informative lol ty
Is it still on?
@@dylanisawsome102 yes, it’s still on after plenty of car wash visits as well
Thx
Double sided 3m tape.
