You know you are the best when your back-up singers are Alison Moyet, Sinead O'conneor, Madeline Bell etc. This was probably Dusty's last live performance on TV. She never sang a dud note in her life. Irrepressible, unequalled, never to be forgotten.
Burt Bacharach reckoned she used to sing a bit sharp sometimes but it didn't matter. I've never noticed it myself and I've been listening to Dusty since the Springfields in 1962
One for the ages! 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s. And Dusty could have gone on and on. Gone to soon. Love the picture. Must be a Lesley Gore fan. Dusty did a good job covering her song “You Don’t Own Me”
Wow! Dusty's phrasing is more mature / heart felt but this recording would have fit in almost seamlessly if it were on "Dusty In Memphis" and is much better than anything on her follow-up recordings for Wexler & Co. Thanks for posting this. Sad that this is Dusty's final TV appearance.
@@robertclatworthy1857 this was June 1995, this wasn't her last TV performance she was doing promotion for the album A Very Fine Love and did a few more press and TV interviews in the autumn of 1995 to promote 'Roll Away' her last single. She was in remission at the point of this interview unfortunately in the following year 1996 she discovered the cancer had gotten to her bones which sadly brought her to pass away in 1999😭
Just read in a second hand book that Dusty blanks Alison Moyet in this clip. Absolute bollocks. Disappointing as I was looking for a book that celebrates Dusty's music. Not gay bitching. Oh well.

Sinead O'Connor? Madeline Bell? I didn't see either of them. Definitely not Madeline Bell. Can you give me timestamps?
@@MelanieMaguire maybe you should have gone to specsavers! O Connor is on the far right. Next is Bell with black waistcoat and dyed hair.
Brilliant. One of my all time favourite female singers.
No need for lip synching or autotune with this woman. I love you Dusty.
so true
Her final album is so underrated as well 💿 I love it 💚
Cancer is such a bastard. May you Rest In Peace Dusty ♥️♥️😥😥
Wonderful singer, wonderful woman. Much missed.
Never heard her sing this before, what a pleasure
DUSTY FROM 60'S TILL 90'S AMAZING 30 YEARS SINGING TO US , UNFORGETTABLE DUSTY 😍😍😍
Ja, sie war großartig
Und konnte alles singen. Pop Soul Jazz und Folk
Die beste Sängerin die GB hatte. So schade das sie nicht mehr bei uns ist.
I am a mid life happily married man, but this woman’s voice crushes me everytime. So much full of soul in that voice. AM does the same. Love it
"how many tears ten dollars can buy?", I almost wept when Dusty sang it. Makes a big difference when a singer sings from the heart and means it.
This is but one reason why Dusty is my favorite all-time solo act.
love her performance & the song
My all time favorite performance of hers.
Dusty accompanied on backing vocals by Ali & Sinead. Nice. I thank you
And the other 3 ladies. They all did a phenomenal performance. Dusty was amazing. RIP Dusty
Dusty’s voice, Dusty, are not only fabulous. It’s a one time wonder.

Dusty is in a rare form here - and those "back up" singers (Alison Moyet & Sinead O'connor!), are pretty dang good too - I predict they'll go places.
Sinead went Far... WAY TOO FAR. SADLY.
She was one of the best female singers to come out of England
One of?
100%
pure class
With the "right" song to sing, she was still great, at almost 60. Really good to see her. Thank you.
But this is some where in 1990-1994 and she was born in 1939
@@drewjacobs1990 She was 56
@@ultimospettacolo but she isn't sing in 1996 not 1996 ! Same age as tina Turner 1939
What a voice Dusty had pure genius R.I.P
Dusty will always be an icon rest in peace sweetheart
Absolutely wonderful. What a woman.
Dusty and Alison!! Damn!
The four greatest female singers of all time: Ella, Peggy, Sarah and Dusty.
I vote for Patsy Cline as honorable mention!
Five. Amy Winehouse. Start Listening to her Music. Watch her Videos. You will not be disappointed. RARE TALENT.
I guess those are the best of 50s and 60s that arent belters.
Add Mariah Whitney Celine to the list!!!!
DSB
That was one hell of a line up, and fronted by the best, wow!
Mamma mia ! Brava !!!!❤❤❤
Perfect in every way what back up singers
Flawless - what a talent!
FABULOUS
This was from a time when U.S. cable companies actually had programs that were worth the expense.
just a wonderful wonderful singer
So much soul. Incomparable.
Dusty sounds bloody incredible here 🙏
Possibly the greatest British female singer of all.
I must be stupid because I’ve always assumed she was American
@@Bickle121 You said it!
Wow.
Super!
Some people have a voice that everyone will just stop what ever they are doing and listen.
Probably the greatest live performance since The Who played 'Naked Eye' at the Isle Of Wight festival.
Pure quality
miss you dusty xx r.i p

One word “WOW”
Wish the volume were better.
AMEN
Gerry Rafferty could have written this song. Fantastic upload. Thank you!
The volume is so far down that at max speakers, I still can't hear it well.
I'm hearing it in full volume - you might need different speakers.
Don't miss the beautiful Sinead O'Connor in the background....
Not Sinead O'Connor....????

I can barely hear this. (Can you not turn up the volume? it's a torture having her dangled and then barely audible).
You deaf?
@@tomheslington2993 A bit, yes (one ear). But the volume IS incredibly low.
Some singers CANT sing sound so crap live fans would want their ££££ back...dusty sure could sing....

maybe SOMEDAY gay people will be able to sing to the pronoun of their choice and not the ones forced on them by convention....
He,She, It, That, Gosh, Sick. An ever expanding list.
Please don’t confuse homosexuality with gender dysphoria. I love me some Dusty!
