David Pocock Tribute - The Breakdown Master (RWC 2015)

  • A tribute to the breakdown master, who plays Openside Flanker and No. 8, David Pocock. His performance during the Rugby World Cup 2015 was outstanding, motivating the entire Wallabies team. Besides his masterful technique in turning the ball over, which stands out the most, he's also mastered controlling the ball at the back of a rolling maul to score tries.
A personal inspiration of mine, as I'm sure is also for so many other rugby athletes out there.
    Enjoy!
    Songs:
    1) Two Steps From Hell - Heart of Courage
    2) Zack Hemsey - See What I've Become

A true 80-minute player. In the last two minutes of the 2015 World Cup Final, when Beauden Barrett was running in the last try, the closest Australian player to him was Pocock, chasing to the very end.

For me the best stealer of the ball i have ever seen is David Pocock and the best humbled sportsman out there, gracious in defeat and humble in winning....Australia besides me a Scot will miss him very much indeed.Ihope he coaches young ones in the art of competing at the breakdowns there's nobody better....than this MAN DAVID POCOCK...🇦🇺

At his peak he was almost unplayable at the breakdown. So smart and like a limpet around the ball. He single handedly kept Australia in so many games. As a pure breakdown forward, he was superior to McCaw and Brussow for me.

That tackle he put on Savea in the rwc final was spectacular. He didn't even have his arms fully wrapped, he was able too hold onto those immensely powerful tree trunk thighs of Savea with his wrist strength alone and drag him down, that is just absolutely ridiculous.

Imagine having that guy on your team? He will play for you all day long and defend your right to breathe for every minute on either side outside the 80 minutes he has just given you. What a legend. I am not surprised he was bred in Zimbabwe. Their sportsmen/women have that bulldog survivalism spirit bred into them.

I lost all faith in the Wallabies over the past few years. We finally have a squad we can be proud of and love.
Pocock is just a freak at the breakdown. If he gets on top of the ball, there is no getting him off. It's amazing to watch the tackled player move with Pocock when someone clears him away from the ball.
He was also one of the main reasons the Wallaby Maul was so lethal. The way he stays attached at the rear is just crazy.

Mackem Slinger I respect your argument but I think you must be pretty new to rugby. Kaino doesn't start for the blues anymore never mind the all blacks, Read is starting to take a dip in form and Robshaw just isn't that good.
